WHY A REGIONAL HIGH-VOLUME LOW-COST SPAY NEUTER CLINIC? OSPCA Spay/Neuter services have spay/neutered over 80,000 animals since 2009. Animal Centres have seen a reduction of cat intake of 19% across the province. Our Barrie Animal Centre, located right beside one of our spay/neuter services, has seen a reduction of cat intake of over 50%! Pet Owners from Peterborough are travelling to Newmarket Clinic for services Intended to service a population base of 625,000, East and North of GTA including Durham, Kawartha Lakes, Greater Peterborough, Quinte, Lakeshore, Greater Kingston (up to 240 min. drive) Perform surgeries for affiliated Humane Societies (Kawartha Lakes, Durham, Northumberland, Quinte, Napanee & Kingston) Assist other animal welfare organizations (LAWS, ARK, Operation CatNip, feral cat groups)

ONTARIO SPCA PROVINCIAL DOG REHABILTATION CENTRE First of its kind in Canada Fully funded by Ontario SPCA Province-wide service to Ontario SPCA Branches/Affiliates Staffed by experts in dog behaviour Viewable to the public Access to veterinary care and grooming First Nations communities programming

NEW PARTNERSHIP: RESEARCH Student placements Environmental research Research related to planned dog rehabilitation facility Genetics research on domestic animal diseases Biology research on animal physiology and stress Training and education program for animal caregivers in rural, remote indigenous communities Animal care field training in the new training facility

NEW PARTNERSHIP: EDUCATION Various student placements from wildlife management, early childhood education and social service workers. Various student placements from the trades program during and after construction. PHS has offered to work in partnership with the College to create a vet tech program and host the classes on site at the new facility.

ONTARIO SPCA PARTNERSHIP: $2 million up front investment 20 years of contributing to 26.5% of the Centre s operating costs Provincial Dog Rehabilitation is operated by the Ontario SPCA Peterborough will be at the centre of the stories as the host city Job growth: Ontario SPCA will be funding 12 FTEs at new facility
