HRD SHEEP COURSE 2 April 2018 Foot Bath Main Property 1. 15 POINTS - Take Pen to Sand Road, Holding Pen to Base of Bridge. Level I, II, III Gather 10 sheep from designated pen, (2 marked sheep) into lane, across grassy area, to Sand Road, in and thru Holding Pen to base of the bridge, drive or fetch. 2. 10 POINTS - Bridge to trail to Pen 61. Level I, II, III Sheep, handler and dog over Bridge. Follow trail to Pen 61, drive or fetch. 3. 10 POINTS Enter Pen 61, Drive to Post, Hold, Go to B Gate. Level I may fetch this portion. Level II and III Drive (while handler remains at pen gate) to area between handler post and cone. All levels dog holds sheep by post while handler approaches B gate. 4. 10 POINTS SORT Level I and II sort any 5 thru B Gate, leave 5 in Pen 61. 10 POINTS LEVEL III Level III sorts at least one collared sheep into B arena, leave 5 sheep in Pen 61. 5. 20 POINTS Settle, Gather and Foot Bath. Level I, II, III Take 5 head of sheep to area on far side of gate 60 A to settle leave sheep. Drive or Fetch. LEVEL I - Gather, dog is placed ½ way between sheep and foot bath area. Handler may go within 15 feet of sheep for the gather. Gather sheep and go to mouth of foot bath. LEVEL II Gather, dog is placed in front of the foot bath and handler may go halfway between the sheep and the dog. Gather sheep and go to mouth of foot bath. LEVEL III Gather, dog and handler remain at area by mouth of foot bath to gather sheep. Gather sheep. All levels following gather, put sheep thru footbath. 6. 15 POINTS - Gather Take Pen 61, Regroup 10 sheep, hold at gate. Level I, II, III gather sheep from pen 61 and regroup with sheep from footbath in Arena B. Level I and II may drive or fetch sheep to far side of gate 60 A. Level III drive sheep to area on far side of gate 60 A. Level I, II and III dog holds sheep until handler releases dog and is ready to open gate and exit to trail. 7. 10 POINTS Trail, Arch, to Re-pen. All levels fetch or drive this section. Return sheep to their designated pen. All Gates must be closed unless otherwise specified. No penalty for dog taking water break at designated watering area 90 points Level I and II / 100 points Level III, Gather 125 Level III Tie breaker # 5, # 1

HRD SHEEP COURSE April 2018 Chute/collars Main Property 1. 15 POINTS - Take Pen to Sand Road, Holding Pen to Base of Bridge. Level I, II, III Gather 10 sheep from designated pen into lane, pick up 5 collars, cross grassy area, to Sand Road, in and thru Holding Pen to base of the bridge, drive or fetch. 2. 10 POINTS - Bridge to trail to Pen 61. Level I, II, III Sheep, handler and dog over Bridge. Follow trail to Pen 61, drive or fetch. 3. 10 POINTS Enter Pen 61, Drive to Post, Hold, Go to C Gate. Level I may fetch this portion. Level II and III Drive (while handler remains at pen gate) to area by handlers post. All levels dog holds sheep by post while handler approaches C gate. 4. 10 POINTS Sheep into pen A to Chute for sort and collar. Level I II and III may drive or fetch sheep across pen to mouth of chute. All levels sort 10 sheep into 2 sets of 5. 5 collars are placed on a designated set of sheep. The first set of sheep are moved into pen A1, the second set is moved into pen A2. 5. 10 POINTS - A1 and A2 penned sheep to Arena B to settle area. All Levels remove sheep from A1 and A2 pens into Arena B to the settle area Level III must remain at gate A while dog drives sheep across to settle area and prepare for positioning for gather. 6. 20 POINTS Gather Level l handler goes as close as 15 ft to sheep for gather, dog is positioned ½ way between sheep and the foot bath. Sheep are gathered and fetched to an area at the footbath. Level II handler positioned ½ way between the foot bath and the sheep, dog is positioned at an area by the foot bath. Sheep are gathered and fetched to and area at the footbath. Level III handler and dog are positioned at the footbath, dog gathers sheep to the footbath area. 7. 15 POINTS - Exit Arena B to trail thru Arch obstacle and Re-pen. Level I and II drive or fetch to gate 60A. Dog holds sheep away from gate until released and handler is ready to exit to trail. Level III drives sheep to gate 60A while handler remains at footbath, dog holds sheep away from gate 60A until released and handler is ready to exit to trail. All levels drive or fetch trail to re-pen. Re-pen sheep in their designated pen. 8. LEVEL III 10 POINTS 2 collars are removed after RE- in original designated pen. No Penalty for dog taking water break at designated watering area. Tie Breaker # 6, #1 90 points Level I and II/100 points Level III, Gather 130 Level III

4/7 & 8 HRD Cattle Course Description Location Main Property HRD CATTLE BLACK PRONG Saturday/Sunday 1. 15 pts. All levels start from sorting stock pens. Handlers may preset Arena gate. 5 Head cattle in NW pen. Gather and move 5 head into lane. After moving 5 head into lane, exit into arena. Close arena gate. 2. 10 pts. Level III and II handlers drive 60 from arena gate to mini graze. Entrance marked by cone and tree. Level III will remain on line from the cone to the Y chute for graze, Level II and I may drive or fetch thru graze area. Graze limit time to be determined by judge. (no longer than 2 minutes) Stock should be settled and allowed the opportunity to graze. 3. 20/5 pts. Stock should pass thru the Y chute. Level III handlers will remain on line from the exit of the Y chute to tree directly across the arena. Level III stock will pass between cone and post before the approach to the foot bath as a 100 ft. drive. Level III may leave the handler line once the stock has passed the post and cone. Level II and I may fetch or drive to the Y chute but may not enter the Y chute. Level I and II livestock do not have to pass thru the cone and post obstacle, but can proceed directly to the foot bath. 4. 10 pts. All levels may position themselves anywhere by the foot bath to facilitate the stock going thru, the handler should not enter the foot bath, the dog may go in the foot bath obstacle. 5. 15pts. All levels will drive or fetch stock past the panels but do not need to pass thru the panels. Stock should be settled between the panels and the fence to the right of the lane gate. Dog should be called off stock. Level III dog and handler will position at the entrance of the graze area and gather the stock. Level II positions dog at the entrance to the graze, handler may position ½ way between livestock and dog and gather the stock. Level I positions dog ½ way between stock and the graze entrance and handler may go within 15 ft. of livestock for the gather. 6. 10/5 pts. Once the stock has been gathered, Level I and II will hold stock on fence off gate while handler opens gate to stock pens. Level I and II re-pen all 5 head into pen where the original 2 cattle were presorted. Level III will gate sort from the arena 2 cattle into gate to stock pens and then re-pen the remaining 3 and the sorted 2 into the pen the original 2 cattle were presorted. All gates should be returned to the original position they were found at the beginning of the run.

Mixed Flock HRD Course Description 1. 15 POINTS GOATS Holding Pen, Under Bridge, Trail to Palmetto Pen. Pick up 3 goats from Holding Pen by Sand Road. All levels drive or fetch under bridge to maze trail. Pen goats in Palmetto Pen. 2. 10 POINTS SHEEP (5 head-2 with collars) Take Pen A1, thru A gate, across arena B to settle area. Dog removes sheep from A1 pen. Level I and II drive or fetch thru Pen A, Level III drives sheep across A pen and holds sheep close to gate until handler gets to gate, sheep exit thru A Gate. Level III and Level II remain at A Gate opening and drive sheep across Arena B to settle area at the opposite end of B arena. Level I may fetch or drive to settle area. Handler returns to Pen A closing gate behind them. 3. 10 POINTS SHEEP Shift sheep to next pen in A arena. Shift the remaining groups of sheep into the next holding pen, (example, A2 to A1, A3 to A2, Chute to A3). 4. 15 POINTS SHEEP Gather Handler/dog Exits A pen to gather 5 sheep in Arena B. Level I Handler leaves dog ½ way between sheep and area by the foot bath, handler may go within 15 ft of the sheep, for the gather and may fetch to area by foot bath. Level II Handler leaves dog by the foot bath and handler may go ½ way between the sheep and the dog for the gather and may fetch sheep to area by foot bath. Level III Dog and handler go to area by the foot bath, dog is sent from foot bath area, handler remains at footbath while dog gathers sheep to handler. 5 POINTS LEVEL III Handler removes collar from 1 sheep at foot bath area, checks ear tag # and calls out # to judge. ALL LEVELS Dog holds sheep at foot bath while handler opens gate to A pen. 5. 10 POINTS SHEEP Chute Dog brings sheep thru A gate, and puts sheep into chute, securing them in chute. 5 POINTS LEVEL III Handler puts collar on a different sheep, while in chute, checking ear tag #, and informing judge # prior to starting ducks. 6. 10 POINTS DUCKS Take pen. Take 5 ducks out of duck pen. 7. 15 POINTS DUCKS Duck Bridge. All Levels put Ducks over bridge. Ducks go over bridge, dog may go over bridge, handler may not go over bridge. 8. 5 POINTS DUCKS Re-pen. Ducks are taken thru B gate and re-pen ducks in foot bath. Tie breaker # 4 #1 All gates must be closed unless otherwise specified, Duck Bridge 6 X 2 No penalty for dogs taking water break in designated water area.

RLF SHEEP 4/5 &6 Main Property RLF Sheep April 2018 Black Prong Equestrian Center 1. Start from Take Pens with 25 sheep per pen. All Levels fetch or drive thru lane to pass thru pen into lane between the sorting stock pens into Arena A opening and closing gates behind them. 2. Level III and II handlers drive 60 feet from Arena A gate to mini graze, level I may fetch. Entrance to graze marked by cone and tree. Level III remain on line from cone to Y Chute for graze, Level II and I may fetch or drive thru graze area. Graze time limit determined by judge (no longer than 2 minutes) Stock should be settled and allowed the opportunity to graze. 3. Stock should pass thru the Y chute. Level III handlers will remain on line from the exit of the Y chute to tree directly across the arena. Level III stock will pass between cone and post before the approach to the foot bath as a 100 ft. drive. Level III may leave the handler line once the stock has passed the post and cone. Level II and I may fetch or drive to the Y chute but may not enter the Y chute. Level I and II livestock do not have to pass thru the cone and post obstacle, but can proceed directly to the foot bath. 4. All levels may position themselves anywhere by the foot bath to facilitate the stock going thru, the handler should not enter the foot bath, the dog may go in the foot bath obstacle. 5. Level III will sort out 5 and put 5 sheep into the trailer and 20 remaining sheep into the original pen they were taken from. The sort should be done in the most efficient process for the dog and handler team. The handler should not enter the trailer.
