NOTICE TO ALL EXHIBITORS ENTRY INFORMATION No entry will be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are completed in full. HANDLERS and AGENTS please note the full name and address of all owners MUST BE FILLED IN. Incomplete entries will be returned. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the Entry Fee. Telephone entries cannot be accepted. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. Change or cancellation of any entry after the closing date is prohibited. An error in the class, date of birth or sex may be amended on the entry form up to one hour before the start of the show. Moving Class Dogs to Specials in Conformation and Moving Up a Dog to the Next Class in the Trials is permitted providing it is completed on the appropriate Move Up Form one hour prior to the start of the start of the next show/trial. Only dogs already registered in the Canadian Kennel Club Stud Book, or are eligible for such registration can be entered. The committee reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC rules. Judging Schedules will be e mailed as soon as possible after entries close. Any NSF cheques or credit cards will be subject to a 25.00 service charge. Entry fee plus service charge for NSF cheques or credit cards must be paid in cash prior to competing. OFFICIAL PREMIUM LIST THUNDER BAY KENNEL & TRAINING CLUB INC GENERAL INFORMATION Show precincts shall be the interior of the Nor West Arena show and trial buildings. The Superintendent will be in full charge of the show and trial, which will be governed by CKC rules. The Thunder Bay Kennel & Training Club and the Show/Trial Committee will use care and diligence for the welfare of all dogs, exhibitors and spectators, but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident or misfortune, however caused. If because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of management, it is not possible to open or complete the show/trials, no refund of entries will be made. Refunds will be made when a bitch entered in Obedience comes into season after entries close if a Veterinarian s certificate is delivered to the Secretary before the date of the trial. Entry fees will not be refunded should a dog be absent, sick, lame or excused by a Veterinarian, Judge, or Superintendent. It is the responsibility of the exhibitors to have the dog at ringside when the dog s class is scheduled for judging. Waiting for dogs will not be possible. The exhibitor is responsible for knowing and complying with the CKC Dog Show Rules. Dogs MAY NOT be kenneled overnight in the Show Building or in the Trial Building. It shall be the duty and obligation of the Show/Trial club to see that the judges, club officials, ring stewards, volunteers or competitors at a Show or Trial held under these regulations is not subject to indignities of any kind. To be eligible to receive a CCN, all of the following must be met: 1. The dog must be either a Mixed Breed (a dog of unknown ancestry that belongs to no recognized breed and is not the result of selective breeding) or an Unrecognized Breed (a dog of known ancestry not on the CKC list of recognized or miscellaneous breeds and that is registered with a Registry recognized by the CKC) 2. Mixed Breed dogs must be spayed or neutered. Unrecognized Breeds are not required to be spayed or neutered.. 3. The dog must be properly identified with a CKC approved microchip. A dog that is eligible for a CCN may not be entered as a Listed Dog. Dogs may only enter events after a CCN has been issued to that dog. Dogs with a CCN will be entered as ALL CANADIAN where the breed in indicated on the entry form and in the catalogue. The CKC may cancel for cause any Canine Companion Number. PERFORMANCE EVENT NUMBER (PEN) Effective, January 1, 2002, a Performance Event Number (PEN) allows a non-registerable dog of a CKC registered breed to participate in competitive events that are appropriate for the breed. Those events are as follows: Obedience Trials, Rally Obedience Trials, Tracking Tests, Herding Trials, Draft Dog Tests, Agility, Lure Coursing, Earth Dog Test, Hunt Tests, Working Certificate Test and Pointing Field Dog Tests. To be eligible to receive a PEN, all of the following must be met: 1. The dog must be of a breed recognized by the CKC. 2. The dog, for one reason or another, must not be eligible for CKC registration. 3. The dog must be spayed or neutered. 4. The dog must be properly identified with a CKC approved microchip (not necessary for ILP dogs). 5. The dog cannot be on the CKC Miscellaneous Class List. 6. In case of a foreign born dog residing in the USA, in addition to the above, the dog must have been issued an AKC ILP number. A dog that is eligible for a PEN may not be entered as a Listed Dog. Dogs may only enter events after a PEN has been issued to that dog. EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN) Effective, January 1, 1992, all dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an Event Registration Number (ERN). This ERN Number MUST be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. Dogs may be entered as Listed. Failure to apply for an ERN Number within 30 days of the first day pf entering a CKC event WILL result in the cancellation of any wins, awards or scores. The fee will be 58.50 plus applicable taxes. (b) The non-member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. (c) In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. (d) The fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non-member residents of Canada and is not applicable to CKC members..

RESERVED GROOMING FEES Please indicate on the entry form if you require a reserved grooming space. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. 10 by 10 with power 30.00 10 by 10 without power 20.00 If you choose to take your chances and not reserve a space with power, the charge will be 10 payable at the Event Secretary s table prior to set up. There is no charge for unreserved grooming spaces without power. Private room (limited number) 100 (40 rebate if left clean) ON SITE CAMPING SPOTS The number of on-site camping spaces with electrical hook-up is limited. Camping fee will be 50.00 (includes HST) for the 3-day weekend (Thursday-Sunday). Anyone plugging in prior to or after those days will pay another 15 per day. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come/first served PRE-PAID basis. ALL CHEQUES ARE TO BE CURRENTLY DATED MADE PAYABLE TO THE THUNDER BAY KENNEL & TRAINING CLUB AND SENT TO THE EVENT SECRETARY. ATTENTION US EXHIBITORS U.S. exhibitors may pay by personal cheque on a U.S. Bank or U.S. Money Order in U.S. funds. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, cheques and money orders on U.S. banks must be at par. Credit card charges on U.S. banks are automatically adjusted by the credit card company on the day the charge is submitted. A dog awarded Winners at a Championship Show held under these Rules shall be accredited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder. Section 2. The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: Dogs Competing* 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more Points Allocated 0 1 2 3 4 5 *includes the dog awarded Winners To determine the number of championship points earned by a dog awarded Winners, total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and then consult schedule set forth above. In order for a dog to be recognized as a Champion and its owner provided with a Championship certificate, the dog must earn at least 10 Championship points under 3 different judges, be individually registered in the records of the CKC or have an ERN number and have earned at least one 2 point win at either the breed or group level. Section 4. In addition to championship points allocated at the breed level, a dog awarded WINNERS which also places in the regular Group competition as provided in Chapter 4, Section 8(j) of these Rules shall be credited with the following additional points, provided that the dog has defeated another dog at the group level, save that no more than five (5) points will be credited to a dog for a single show. In no case may a dog earn more than five points at any single show. Classifications In all breeds recognized by the CKC, the following classes will be provided for, divided by sex: Baby Puppy 3 months and under 6 months Junior Puppy 6 months and under 9 months Senior Puppy 9 months and under 12 months 12 18 Months 12 months and under 18 months Canadian Bred Dogs born in Canada (Champions of any country excluded) Bred by Exhibitor Dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder Open For all dogs Specials Only For Canadian Champions Exhibition Only For all dogs over 6 months of age and eligible for registration With the Canadian Kennel Club Note: In all breeds, where classes are divided by colour, weight or coat, indicate clearly in the class division on the entry form. Section 19.7 Conformation (Section 19.7, Obedience) (Section 17.7 Rally Obedience) of the Dog Show Rules states: A judge, club official, ring steward, volunteer or competitor at a show or trial held under these rules shall not be subjected to indignities of any kind during the progress of the show. It shall be the duty and obligation of the club holding the show to see that this rule is effectively carried out. Section 13.6.1 of the Dog Show Rules states: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry at any time up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone but written or electronic notification must be received by the Show Secretary no later than 7 days after the official closing. If written or electronic notification is not received, the dog will remain entered in the show. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to familiarize himself with the CKC rules and regulations.
