All birds must be bred and moulted by the exhibitor and rung with the clubs closed ring or Midland Counties NPC ring. No bird having more than one ring to compete for these specials. All Exhibits to be shown in the club standard colour show cage with open top drinker and standard spars. Only plain canary seed in bottom. Mark entry form SPC. Entries: Entries are 50p per cage. Sale birds 2.00 per cage (no commission taken). EXHIBITION RULES AND REGULATIONS Please read carefully: The completion of an entry form implies an express understanding that the exhibitor accepts all the rules listed below as binding and final, and any breach of these rules will render the exhibitor liable to be disqualified and to forfeit all entrance fees. 1. Law:- All exhibitors and exhibits must comply with the current Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981 and licence WLF100094.Species not listed on Schedules must comply with General Licence conditions on WML/L14(exhibition) and WML/L18(sale) to be accompanied with Proof of Breeding documents. Any Bird Found to be incorrectly ringed or contravening the Laws will be removed from the hall immediately and forfeit any entrance fees, prize money or specials it may have won. 2. Entry Fees:- Entry fees must be sent with the entry. Entry fees will be forfeited if any exhibit has not arrived at the exhibition hall before the final times for staging. 3. Specials:- Classes are open to all fanciers, not just club members, but all special prizes are confined to N.B.B. & M.C. members only. 4. Food & Water:- All exhibits must be provided with an adequate supply of food for the duration of the show. All necessary utensils fitted to enable the stewards to clean & replenish. 5. Loss:- The show promoters will not be responsible under any circumstances for loss or damage sustained by exhibits or exhibitors and their property, nor any consequential expenses for any cause whatsoever, whether these be sustained on the way to or during, or returning from the exhibition. 6. Mules & Hybrids:- Birds in the mule and Hybrid classes need not be ringed if bred from schedule 3 parents. Miniature mules are those bred from very small varieties of canaries. 7. Hardbills:- All birds in Hardbill classes must be ringed with the British Bird Council's closed rings or I.O.A. closed rings. C.O.M. ringed birds will only be accepted if the exhibitor provides a photocopy of the D.O.E. exemption Licence for the bird with the entry form. 8. Softbills:- All birds in Softbill classes must be ringed with the British Bird Council's closed rings or I.O.A. closed rings. C.O.M. ringed birds will only be accepted if the exhibitor provides a photocopy of the D.O.E. exemption Licence for the bird with the entry form. 9. Unflighted:- Birds entered into unflighted classes must be rung with the correct "Current Year" rings. 10. Northern Species :- All Northern birds, plus their Mules & Hybrids (including Northern goldfinch mules), must be shown in Northern classes and will only be eligible to compete for Northern Specials. 11. Sales:- Birds offered for sale may only be entered into the Sales Classes. Where birds are offered for sale, the price does not include the cage. For British birds, Mules and Hybrids only species listed in the show classes are accepted in sales classes and all other rules apply. Only official N.B.B.& M.C. boxes will be allowed to be taken out of the hall. Sales will commence once the show opens. 12.Novice:- A novice can exhibit in the novice classes for a maximum of five calendar years and will then automatically become a champion. Read carefully new rules from Natural England Wildlife and Countryside Act 1. Only Birds which are listed in Schedule 3 part 1 and Non-Schedule that have been bred in captivity may be competitively exhibited. Providing that they are ringed in accordance with the regulations made by the Secretary of State for the Environment. 2. Birds must have been bred in captivity and ringed with a closed ring. A bird shall not be treated as bred in captivity unless its parents were lawfully in captivity when the egg from which it hatched was laid. 3. Only BBC, IOA, DOE or COM rings will be accepted, provided they are accompanied with the necessary licences Natural England General Licences Users of General Licences should make themselves fully aware of conditions of the licence they use. Copies of General Licences can be obtained by post from Natural England, Block A Government Buildings, Coley Avenue, Coley Park, reading RG1 6DT or can be accessed on website www.naturalengland.org.uk Note Schedule 3 part 1 species not ringed in accordance with ringing regulations must be individually licensed by Natural England if they are to be offered for sale or competitively shown. Note proof of breeding documentation is a condition of this licence and must accompany the birds.
