2018 Silver Fox Nationals Fact Sheet: March 17, & 18, 2018 Host Club: North Carolina Rabbit Breeders Assn. How many shows may I enter my Silver Fox in on this weekend? In addition to our Nationals, you also have the option to enter an Open show held by the host club on Saturday (show B), and two shows held by them on Sunday. Please DO NOT ENTER THE NCRBA SHOW A ON SATURDAY. The Nationals show will be a lengthy one. There will not be time for you to show in Show A. Nationals Show Superintendent: Jo Mladjenovich, jkmlad@aol.com Nationals Show Secretary: Kimberly Esquilla; nsfrc.sec@gmail.com How do I enter? If you want to enter all of the shows that weekend, you will be submitting entries to two separate show secretaries. Kim Esquilla is our Nationals Show Secretary and you will submit your Nationals entries to her through our NSFRC website. The deadlines for entries are 3/11/18 for email entries, Entries sent through the US Postal service must be postmarked 3/1/18. To find the correct information regarding entries in the North Carolina Rabbit Breeders Assn. shows, please consult their Show Catalog. We cannot stress enough that you read and understand the NCRBA show catalog. It contains information about renting coops and parking. Additionally, it is important to us that our exhibitors follow the rules so we can hold another Nationals there in the future should we so desire. There will also be a parking pass for you to reproduce and bring with you. This will avoid you having to pay a higher fee for parking at the gate. The fee for the weekend with this pass was only $4 last year. What are the entry fees? Our National Entry Fee is $7 per rabbits in breed classes and $3 for fur. The entry fees for the NCRBA shows are included in their catalog. Please check the catalog for the NCRBA for information regarding their shows and show rules. Is there a host hotel for Silver Fox? Multiple motels in the Greensboro area have been contacted to learn what different motels offer in terms of pet policy and breakfast. When I called the Baymont, I learned that the North Carolina RB have already blocked a huge block of rooms!!! So my advice would be to call in and reserve quickly. Baymont Inn & Suites 336-294-6220 < 2 miles from the Coliseum. $62.99 per night. 6.4 Guest Rating, Breakfast, pet fee already incorporated into price! Tell them you re with the Rabbit Show to get this rate! An extended search of multiple sites has yielded the following results for motel rooms in Greensboro, NC. When I spoke to individual motels, they advised me that we can obtain the best price by going to booking services like Expedia and Priceline. I reviewed multiple facilities on priceline.com, so these are priceline.com prices: Quality Inn & Suites < 2 miles from the Coliseum. $71.50 per night. One Double or One King 5.9 Guest Rating No pets, Continental Breakfast Super 8 < 3 miles from Coliseum. $66.49 per night. Two Doubles 6.8 Guest Rating No pets. Simple Continental Breakfast Suburban Extended Stay Hotel. < 4 miles from Coliseum. $55.99 per night. One Queen 6.0 Guest Rating $25 pet fee, no breakfast but you will have a kitchenette. I have really only included the pet information in the event someone is traveling with a dog... or even a goat (LOL Sheri Singer). Our rabbits will be able to be housed in the Coliseum throughout the show weekend. If you don t feel your carriers will provide enough space for your animals, cooping there will be available.
Will the NSFRC have any sort of entertainment/ fun stuff to do? Yes. We are planning a bowling night at the Triad Lanes at 21 Oak Branch Drive in Greensboro 27407, on Saturday evening from 7-9 PM. The cost of $10 per person covers shoe rental and 2 hours of bowling. There is a bar on site for those wanting alcoholic beverages and food, and a game room, You will have the option to eat there or before you come to our event. We did this the last time we were in Greensboro, and we had a great time! And the food from the bar is much better than you expect! One reason the Greensboro venue was chosen for Nationals was because of the wonderful adaptability of the Host club. When you enter the venue please ask where the Silver Fox will be shown. They have assigned us a special spot in the showroom. We can leave our rabbits there all weekend. We will not have to hop from table to table. The judges will be brought to our area so our Silver Fox will be judged on the same set of tables all weekend. This will not be the case for all other breeds. There has been a food vendor in the showroom in the past, but the choices are very limited. However, the Coliseum is very convenient to many food/ fast food places. The showroom will be open on Friday around 5 PM so rabbits can be dropped off and housed there. You will have the option of cooping your rabbits in the showroom, at a charge of $3 per rabbit, or you can house your rabbits in your carriers. You can just divide your carriers into larger spaces and use them for housing. Please bring your own feed and water containers regardless. Please bring your GPS with you or use your phones mapping feature. We won t be printing maps to the bowling alley or motels. You will note that the addresses are noted above. Please jot them down if you need them. Do you still have questions? Please feel free to contact Kim or Jo. Their email addresses are above. You may also reach us on Facebook... which we check more often.
