If you are coming to the show please bring your trophies with you, engraved, cleaned and polished. If you are not attending the show, please send the trophy, along with a detailed packing slip describing the contents of each box, to: Leslie Slusher 427 Avondale Ave., Haddonfield, NJ 08033, (717)413-5862 rlusher@me.com Note that there is a $250 penalty if any trophy is not returned on time. Also the delinquent member cannot show until the fine is paid. (Refer to Show Rule Section I. Number 5.) ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: The AGM is scheduled to begin immediately after BIS about 4:30 P.M. on Saturday. It will be in the ballroom. All members are encouraged to attend. NEW!! CKCSC-USA TRICK DOG TITLES Effective 1/1/18, the CKCSC is happy to offer official titles for Trick Dogs to be listed on the dog s title record. Dogs must have CKCSC-USA Registration Number or a CKCSC-USA Performance Event number, and the owner and handler must be a member in good standing with the CKCSC-USA to earn a title. There are four levels of Trick Dog titles Novice (C-TKN), Intermediate (C-TKI), Advanced (C-TKA), and Performer (C-TKP). Evaluations will be conducted for all levels at CKCSC-USA and Regional show weekends offering Performance Trials. Evaluations will be conducted in Matamoras by Cheryl Mandeville. CNE is offering testing towards the CKCSC Trick Dog title at the June Specialty Show. It will be offered on Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 2:00 to 5:00. Please visit Hospitality to pick up your armbands. Participants must pre-enter. Please allow 30 minutes per evaluation. Cost is $10 per evaluation. Cheryl will be available at Hospitality Thursday evening and all day Friday to answer questions about Trick Dog. Information about the Trick Dog Title will soon be posted on the Club s website. Friday Night Seminar: 6:00 P.M. meet in the Ballroom beside the Show Ring and hear what judges are looking for when they evaluate your dog. Learn how you can best show your dog. Presented by CKCSC,USA Candidate Judge Charlie Weidig (BlackFire Cavaliers, USA). Did you ever wonder what goes on in a judge s mind during those precious few seconds when a dog is being examined? This brief seminar will focus on exactly what a judge is looking at while your dog is on the table and on the move. Get tips on how best to present your dog so that the judge can see exactly what he or she needs to. Questions and hands-on participation welcome. Excellent for first-time and new exhibitors, or for any exhibitor who wants to get a judge s perspective on what goes on in the ring. All members are welcome to attend. CNE will provide pizza for those attending. Donations toward the cost of the pizzas are welcomed. Please consider this when completing your form Summary of Amounts Due. Fun Match: 7:00 P.M. (in the Show Ring will immediately following the Seminar.) You can practice your new knowledge in the ring right away. Our judge will also be CKCSC,USA Candidate Judge Charlie Weidig (BlackFire Cavaliers, USA). A single $5 fee per dog covers that dog in both the single class and multiple contest competitions such as Best Dancer. You can preregister by completing the CNE Matamoras Fun Match Entry Form and mailing it and payment to Joan Parker, CNE Show Secretary, 302 Pine Ridge Circle, Winterville, GA 30683 by the show closing date May 18, 2018. Entries will also be accepted at the Hospitality Table in Matamoras up to the time of the Fun Match. Dancing In the Ring: About 8:30 - Immediately following the Fun Match, CNE will provide music for everyone to enjoy in the ballroom. Come mingle with fellow members. This is a great opportunity for newer members to get to know more seasoned members and for old friends to catch up. The bar is just down the hall. Bring in your drink and join the fun. And, yes, you will be able to dance in the ring! Dogs welcomed. Saturday night there will be a gathering at the residence of Bobbi and Jeffrey Weinstein. Information and directions will be available at the Hospitality Table. All members are welcomed. If you are planning to attend, Jeff asks that you give him a heads up by emailing him at JLW17@aol.com. This will give Jeff an indication of how many will show up. This event is BYOB. At the light at the Dimmick Inn turn right; the store will be immediately to your left. Hospitality Table: If in doubt and if all else fails, stop by the hospitality table and ask your questions. Our CNE members will be able to courteously help you about any problem you may have. We offer all sorts of hand-outs and information. Pick up your arm-bands and your catalog or buy a catalog from the Hospitality Table. Morning Beverage Sponsorship: $30 sponsors morning coffee & tea in the ballroom. Adding this item to the SUMMARY OF AMOUNTS DUE generously helps defray the expense of putting on a show. We will display your name (and kennel if desired) with the morning beverages.\ Class Sponsorships: $10.00 per class. This greatly helps defray the costs of the lovely prizes awarded in each class. As of 1/1/18, the CKCSC, USA, Points System has been updated to allow a 2 point major to count towards earning a CKCSC, USA, Championship. Also, for all clubs except Cavaliers of the West, the total number of dogs needed to award 2 class points for a class of 4 or more was reduced by 10 to 50 and 1 class point will be awarded when there are 3 dogs competing and more than 40 total dogs are entered. The COTW points schedule remains the same. New Eligibility For Best Puppy Dog/Bitch!!! As of the COS/CNE March 2018 Show, the criteria for Best Puppy Dog/Bitch has changed and is no longer limited to the winners of the Junior and Senior Puppy classes. Any puppy under 12 months of age that was not defeated by another puppy under 12 months of age is eligible to compete for Best Puppy, regardless of the class in which the puppy competed. Class points for Best Puppy Dog/Bitch are awarded based on the total number of dogs defeated by the winner in the classes represented by the puppies competing for Best Puppy Dog/Bitch. No dog may be entered in both Beginner Novice A and Beginner Novice B at any trial. Preferred Novice Dogs that have not earned a qualifying score in any of the CKCSC-USA Open, Preferred Open, Graduate Novice, or Graduate Open classes. The dogs need not be in the same ownership or the same color, but must be handled by only one handler. Dogs may be shown unattached or coupled, the coupling device to be not less than 6 inches overall length. Whichever method is used, it must be continued throughout all exercises. Either or both dogs in a brace may be entered in another class(es) at the same trial. Cavaliers 7 years and older to perform the Novice exercises. OBEDIENCE TRIAL FINAL AND OPTIONAL AWARDS AWARDS All official and optional titling classes are judged, then the unofficial obedience classes. Final Awards are awarded first, followed by the Optional Awards. FINAL AWARDS (Must be offered at every Obedience Trial.) To be awarded upon conclusion of the judging for the eligible classes. Obedience High In Trial (OHIT) is awarded to the highest qualifying exhibitor of the Novice A, Novice B, Open A, Open B, Utility A, and Utility B classes. If there is a tie score, a run-off beween the exhibitors with the highest score will be performed. Each exhibitor will perform an off-leash heel pattern. The Judge will score the the performance and award the Obedience High In Trial to the exhibitor with the best performance. Individual Highest Scoring Class Award is awarded to the highest qualifying exhibitor in the specified class. Obedience High Combined is awarded to the exhibitor with the highest combined qualifying scores from the Open B and Utility classes. RALLY As of 1/1/18 OFFICIAL RALLY CLASSES (Qualifying scores earn legs toward rally titles.) Rally Masters Dogs holding the C-RE title. Rally Excellent B Dogs holding the C-RA title. A dog completing the Rally Excellent (C-RE) title may Rally Excellent A continue to complete in this class indefinitely. A dog completing the Rally Advanced (C-RA) title may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. Rally Intermediate Dogs holding the C-RN title but not having any qualifying scores in either of the Rally Advanced classes. A dog competing for the Rally Intermediate (C-RI) title may continue to compete in this class until they earn a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced A or B class. Rally Novice B Any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced Class is earned.
