ZERO TOLERANCE Any individual initiating bullying tactics at the Ontario Breeders Association Shows will be asked to leave the show grounds premises immediately and for the remainder of the event (no refunds). A report will be filed with CKC and the Disciplinary Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit. Definition of Bullying: Refers to a range of behaviors in which targeted individuals are repeatedly, and over time, treated in a mean, insulting or abusive way. Bullying can be initiated deliberately or unconsciously. The affected person may feel upset, afraid, isolated, or humiliated. The bully sometimes acts alone and sometimes as part of a group of people. Examples include: insulting a person's skills, looks, or habits spreading false or malicious rumors, gossip, or innuendo berating/belittling an individual unwarranted criticizing or ridiculing, especially in the presence of others giving insulting nicknames engaging in practical jokes that humiliate undermining or deliberately impeding a person's work physical gesturing that intimidates, offends, degrades, or humiliates mocking a person's accent, abilities or mannerisms yelling or shouting which intimidates, coerces, or belittles 6

NOVICE OWNER / HANDLER COMPETITION (NOH) ONTARIO BREEDERS ALL BREED SHOW ONLY (ALL THREE DAYS) $3,600.00 has been generously donated for this competition by Chris Neilson in memory of Gail Neilson. Prize money will be divided equally over the 3 days. RULES FOR NOVICE / OWNER / HANDLER COMPETITION (RESTRICTED TO AMATEUR COMPETITORS WHO HAVE BEEN SHOWING LESS THAN 8 YEARS) Dog must be entered at all 3 All-Breed Shows for eligibility to participate in Novice Owner/Hander & MUST be handled all the way through by Novice Owner/Handler at all levels for the entire event. Baby Puppies are not eligible for this competition 1. Novice Owner / Handler Box must be checked on entry form (NOH will be indicated in both the catalogue and on the Ring Steward sheets.) 2. This is open to all non-professional owner / handlers. Professional defined as anyone who has been hired to assist or help a handler (at the OBA event) or paid to handle or received remuneration or a licensed / permit judge. Dogs must be NOH throughout the competition. 3. Judging of NOH will take place after Breed Judging Competition unless automatic. 4. NOH, Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs eligible to compete for BB. 5. If the Best of Breed dog is NOH, it will automatically be the NOH BB. 6. If ineligible, then the next highest NOH placement will compete against the eligible dogs of the opposite sex. 7. Should none of the BB competitive dogs be NOH then any NOH dogs (not directly or indirectly defeated in the classes by an NOH dog) will be invited back. 8. The NOH BB dogs will compete for Best NOH in Group immediately after Regular Group Judging. 9. Should the Regular Group 1st dog be NOH then it will be automatically OH in Group. 10. If no NOH places in the Group (1-4) then all BB NOH dogs will be called into the ring for NOH Group Judging. 11. If the BIS dog is NOH, then it will automatically be NOH BIS 12. A flat ribbon will be offered for Best NOH in Breed, a Rosette for Best NOH in Group, and a Rosette and cash prize for Best NOH in Show. *** If you are a NOVICE OWNER / HANDLER make sure that you check off the box on the entry form in order to be eligible to compete. 13
CHAMPIONS & CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SECTION 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder. SECTION 2: The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: Dogs Competing: 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more POINTS ALLOCATED* 0 1 2 3 4 5 *Includes the dog awarded WINNERS To determine the numbers of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. In no case, may a dog earn more than five points at any single show. To obtain an ERN simply do the following: ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting current ownership - with a written request for an ERN. Include full payment in the amount of $62.40. Accounts may be paid with personal or business cheque,money order, Visa or Mastercard. For Non-Members please note that if paying by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Nonresidents of Canada please note that discounted cheques or money orders will not be accepted due to fluctuating currency rates. Provide us with your full return address. Faxed requests will be accepted. Please include your VISA/MasterCard number, expiry date cardholder's name and signature. An ERN must be obtained within 30 day of obtaining points, awards or scores to avoid cancellation. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The Club and Diana Edwards Show Services will not be responsible of cash sent through the mail. 2. Returned cheques do not constitute a valid entry fee. A collection fee of $35.00 will be added by OBA in addition to any bank charges for each returned cheque. 3. There is no refund for duplicate entries. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries, however if the entry has been processed and appears in the official catalogue, no refund will be made. 4. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that the dog is absent, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge, disqualified or barred from competition by action of the bench Committee. 5. If because of riot, civil disturbance or acts of God, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entries shall be made. 6. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs, regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. Change or cancellation of any entry after closing time is prohibited. 7. The Club reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC rules. 8. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of Judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners/Agents are responsible to have their dogs present when their classes are called to be judged. 9. Exhibitors are requested to keep their grooming and crating areas clean and tidy. If space is at a premium, exhibitors must remove exercise pens if requested by the Show Superintendent. 10. It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to ensure that a judge is not subject to indignities. The Conformation Show Committee shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. 11. The OBA will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but will not be responsible for or assume liability in the event of accident, or other misfortunes to dogs, exhibitors or patrons 12. The Show Superintendent will be in complete charge of the show, which will be governed by CKC rules. BUILDING INFORMATION The building will open Thursday at 2 PM, and will closed every night at 10 PM. No private exercise pens will be allowed after the opening of the show. NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is not a member of the CKC; it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. The Non-Member Participation Fee is fee paid in the calendar year (January December) in which the dog achieved its title and/or titles. 16
