Activity Blow Painting Fireworks A creative activity to get children involved in Bonfire Night. This activity takes 15 minutes to complete. Adult supervision required Materials you will need... Paper (ideally black) Paints (more colours, more fun!) Watery paint (mix water with thick paint) Straw Glue Glitter (optional) Instructions 1 Put blobs of paint slightly apart from each other on to your paper 2 Use the straw to blow the paint in different directions 3 Repeat on all blobs of paint 4 Once the pictures are dry you can then add glitter to the picture for extra effect
Activity Adult supervision required Breadstick Sparklers Have fun creating these safe but fun sparklers for bonfire night! You will need... Long plain breadsticks Melted chocolate Hundreds and thousands (or decorations of your choice) Instructions 1 Firstly dip the tips of the long breadsticks into the melted chocolate 2 Once the chocolate is on the breadstick quickly dip it into the bowl of hundreds and thousands to cover all of the melted chocolate 3 Stand the breadsticks up in a cup or pot, and leave to set for a few minutes, before eating!
Activity Adult supervision required Chocolate-Dipped Apple Recipe 5 mins preparation time 5 mins baking time Makes 12 apples Follow this simple recipe to create a yummy treat for Bonfire Night! Ingredients 12 dessert apples 12 wooden sticks 150g crushed sweets 1kg plain chocolate, chopped Preparation method 1 2 3 4 5 6 Place the crushed sweets on a plate and set aside. Insert the wooden sticks into the cores of the apples at the stem. Place the chocolate into a metal or glass bowl and set over a pan of simmering water. Stir frequently until melted then remove from the heat. Dip apple into the melted chocolate, turning to coat completely. Dip or roll your apple in the crushed sweets, then place on a sheet of greaseproof paper. Repeat with the remaining apples. Allow apples to set at room temperature until the chocolate is firm, about 20 minutes, before serving.
Activity Adult supervision required Textured Bonfire Collage A creative activity to get children involved in Bonfire Night. This activity takes 10 minutes to complete. Materials you will need... Yellow, red and orange tissue or crepe paper Gold card Brown paper or card Glue stick Sticky tape Twigs (collected from the garden) Instructions 1 Cut or tear flame shapes from the gold card, yellow, orange and red tissue or crepe paper. 2 Arrange each flame to create a fire. 3 Use glue to attach each piece, trying to bend and scrunch each piece before glueing. Try not to glue the top of each flame to add to the effect. 4 Cut the brown paper or card into rectangular shapes for logs. 5 Glue the logs on to the base of the flames. 6 Tape twigs collected from the garden over your logs for a realistic look and to add more texture!
