We dedicate this book to our teacher, Ms. Pyle, Mr. Rush, and all the animals and people who share the world together. When a great flood comes, all the animals run for shelter. They all help each other to safety, but it is Turkey who helps the whole world.
BALD EAGLE Bald eagles are really good seers. They are called bald because they have white heads. They have long sharp nails and they eat fish. They build really big nests. Claire
Monarch Butterfly They lay their eggs under a leaf. They hatch in the spring by popping out of their eggs. They grow into a caterpillar and eat a lot to get full. They make a chrysalis out of silk and when they wake up, they change into a butterfly. They wait for their wings to really dry and they fly to find food. They take nectar to flowers so they can grow. Cottontail Rabbit They can hear a lot so if something is trying to get them, they can dig a tunnel. They have a white tail. They can hop really high because they have strong legs. They are herbivores and eat plants. Allison
Zebra Butterfly Zebra butterflies are white with black spots and strips and yellow strips on their wings. They like flowers and collect nectar. They suck it up with their straw tongue. They go to flowers together. Adleigh
Turkey On Thanksgiving, we eat turkey. He has wings but doesn t fly. He has a medium tail. He has a beard and wattle. He has a sharp yellow beak. I saw a turkey in the woods and he was eating leaves and he was wild. Kimberly
Panda Pandas eat bamboo. Bamboo grows in Virginia but pandas don t live in Virginia. Pandas live in China and eat in bamboo trees. They are black and white with black ears and black feet. Cameron
Snails Snails live in their shell. They go into their shell when its nap time and when it s raining. They live on land and carry their shell on their back. Cele
Grizzly Bear Grizzly bears get angry sometimes and fight. They stand up on their back legs and fight with their hands. Grizzly bears are light brown and their hair sticks out and is grizzly. They eat grass and they sniff animals, follow them and eat them. Julia
Red - tail Hawks Red-tail Hawks have cool features like a red stomach and red tail. They eat mice, snakes, moles, ducks, squirrels and moistly any meat. They have night vision so they can hunt at night because there are some night creatures they like to eat. Hadley
Grasshoppers Grasshoppers can jump and fly. They re green. Their eyes are a little golden. They have six legs and antennas. Emery
Blue Butterfly Butterflies fly and suck pollen out of flowers. Sometimes they can camouflage into stuff like rocks, trees or flowers. They don t want to get eaten by another animal. They lay eggs that turn into caterpillars. Like the Very Hungry Caterpillar, they eat a lot. Sometimes when they turn into a butterfly, they turn into the colors that they ate. Hailey
Barn Owl Barn owls sometimes live in barns. They fly at night and eat bugs. They eat frogs and meat. They fly really quietly. Owls can sit on a branch and turn their head around backwards and not move their body. Kara
Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly Butterflies come from caterpillars. They eat leaves and have antennas. They lay eggs and the eggs turn into caterpillars. Caterpillars go into a cocoon and then when they come out, they turn into butterflies. Tahlayah

Turkey Vulture Turkey vultures can catch their prey very easily. They can eat anything that s dead. They like meat. They make their nests out of old clothes, twigs and moss. They fly around in circles when they find their prey. Ike
