TRIAL ENTRY MAIL all entries with fees to the Trial Secretary. Express Mail entries must include signature permitting them to be left at trial secretary s address without recipient s signature. ENTRIES NOT ON OFFICIAL AKC ENTRY FORMS or without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. Unsigned entries or entries missing information other than the dog s call name will be returned. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or for cancellation of entries after trial has closed. ENTRIES RECEIVED WITHOUT FEES will not be accepted. DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER This trial is open to all dogs fifteen (15) months and over that are registered with the American Kennel Club, or that have an AKC limited registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing privileges (PAL/ILP) or an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds except bitches in season, aggressive dogs, blind or deaf dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury or illness which may affect the dog s physical or mental performance. ENTRY LIMITS 660 per day (330 runs per judge per day). Non-Regular ISC Classes will not be offered at these trials. ENTRY FEES Entry fees are per dog, per day, and include AKC recording fees of $3.50 for first run and $3.00 each for subsequent runs. First entry - $23.00, Second entry - $12.00, Third entry - $12.00. Checks must be made payable to GRAC. ACCEPTANCE & CONFIRMATION OF ENTRIES Receipt of entry will be emailed to those providing a legible email address. Confirmation letters and judging schedule will be emailed/mailed after closing of the trial. Please review your confirmation carefully and notify Trial Secretary IMMEDIATELY of any errors. All corrections must be entered before day of trial. Wait list for Withdrawn Entries after the Closing Date/Time: Grand Rapids Agility Club is offing a Wait List to fill openings created by withdrawn entries after the trial s closing date/time. A maximum of 30 entries will be placed on the club s wait list. All entries, including wait listed entries, must be received by the Trial Secretary prior to 5pm September 8, 2014. Any entry withdrawal requests that are received by 6pm September 8, 2014 will be replaced by available wait listed entries. If a withdrawn entry is replaced by a wait listed entry, a full refund will be issued for the withdrawn entry. Any wait listed entry that does not move off the wait list into the trial by 6pm September 8, 2014 will receive a full refund. Height Divisions In accordance with AKC regulations, entry form must include whether dog has a jump height card (please include dog s measured height) or if dog needs to be measured. All unmeasured dogs must be measured before they can run. Exhibitors are responsible for entering the proper height divisions. In the Regular classes, dogs may be entered at the jump height for which their measurement qualifies them or a higher jump height, if the exhibitor chooses. In the Preferred classes, however, dogs must run in the jump height for which their actual measurement qualifies them. REGULAR PREFERRED Dogs 11 inches and under at the withers 8 inches 4 inches Dogs 14 inches and under at the withers 12 inches 8 inches Dogs 18 inches and under at the withers 16 inches 12 inches Dogs 22 inches and under at the withers 20 inches 16 inches Dogs over 22 inches 24 inches 20 inches Optional (may be entered at owner discretion) 26 inches not offered RIBBONS AND PRIZES Rosettes will be awarded to the 1 st through 4 th place dog in each jump height in each class, provided that they have earned qualifying scores. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to each dog earning a qualifying score. Rosettes and jump bars will also be awarded for MACH, PACH and PAX titles. A New Title rosette will be awarded to anyone earning a new title. Junior Participating Ribbons are awarded to any Junior Handler running a dog at these trials. All prizes must be claimed the day of the trial; none will be mailed MOVE-UP CONDITIONS Dogs may be moved up to a higher class at the request of the owner, as a result of qualifying for an AKC agility title, provided that the request is made to the Trial Secretary, in writing, not later than Monday, September 8, 2014 at 6PM. E-mail moveups must include the information listed on the enclosed move-up form and include the phrase Accept this as my signature. Dogs so moved up will be entered at the end of the running order. Move-ups for the Saturday & Sunday trials will be accepted by the Agility Trial Secretary until one half hour after close of the last classes on Friday & Saturday at the trial site. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Dogs under the age of 4 months are not permitted on the show grounds of AKC Agility Trials. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that the dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by the action of the show committee. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, and act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Refunds minus $10/day administrative fees will be given to bitches in season and all dogs that can't compete due to injury upon receipt of an excuse from a licensed veterinarian written on his/her letterhead. All refund requests must be received within 2 weeks of end of trial. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. There will be a minimum $35 service charge for returned checks. (amount of bank fee). Overpayments of less than $10 will be considered a donation to the club and will not be returned. It is expressly understood that the exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Show Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, there will be no refund of any entry fees. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. Dogs must be on leash AT ALL TIMES except when in the ring or in designated agility jump warm-up areas. This will be strictly enforced. Exhibitors may leave equipment at their own risk in the building overnight. Site is inside on artificial grass. Suggested footwear: running shoes, soccer shoes with rubber cleats, tennis shoes. (No metal cleats please) No Setup on Thursday Night. Exhibitors may enter at 7:30am Friday. Solid Tarps are required under all crating. No food or beverages (other than water) are allowed in any of the enclosed soccer fields. Vendors are permitted, but must be pre-registered. AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend, and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or any other persons. I (WE) AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION, CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE ENTRY, EXHIBITION OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT BETWEEN THE AKC AND THE EVENT-GIVING CLUB (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN ITS PREMIUM LIST) AND MYSELF (OURSELVES) OR AS TO THE CONSTRUCTION, INTREPRETATION AND EFFECT OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY ARBITRATION PURSUANT TO THE APPLICABLE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO ARBITRATION ALL APPLICABLE AKC BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES MUST FIRST BE FOLLOWED AS SET FORTH IN THE AKC CHARTER AND BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, PUBLISHED POLICIES AND GUIDELINES. INSTRUCTIONS Handlers may opt to enter in a higher height division for all Regular titling classes, but not in a division lower than their proper height division. Dogs entered in the Preferred classes must compete at the required jump height and may not compete in a jump height division higher or lower than their proper height division. All dogs that have not been officially measured for an Agility Jump Height Card may still compete; however, they must be measured by a Judge of record, an Agility Field Representative, or a Volunteer Measuring Official, prior to running. If measured by the Judge of record, that measurement will be valid for this trial or back-to-back trials only. If a measurement is necessary, it is the exhibitor's responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running. Dogs listed in the AKC Canine Partners SM program may be eligible to enter all-breed AKC agility trials at the club s option. These dogs should be listed as All American Dog and must include their AKC number on the entry form and check the AKC No. box. Junior Handlers should enter their Junior Handler number on the front of this form. Should you not have your Junior Handler number, it may be obtained from the American Kennel Club (919) 233-9767.
