Activities for our furry friends will include: *** JUNIOR HUNTER MOCK HUNT RUN: Offered at the Junior Hunter Level only. Judges will provide helpful advice on training & bird work. Dogs must be 6 months or older. There will be a Junior Hunter handling session prior to starting the event. Both senior and master demos will include a retrieve as a demonstration of what is expected at each level. Beginners are encouraged to watch and learn but may not enter, as this is advanced fieldwork. *** LOCATE & POINT: For little pups, young dogs & inexperienced dogs and handlers too. Great training exercise to expose dogs to quail; enhances natural ability in locating and pointing game. Exciting fun that dogs love!!! Dogs must be 2 months or older. CGC TESTING: Is your dog a Canine Good Citizen? Enter and find out about this fun AKC event and earn your first title for your dog. GMHT FIELD TRIAL GROUNDS 2285 Boy Scout Camp Road Lake Wales, FL 33898 DIRECTIONS DIRECTIONS: The GMHT/CFFT Field Trial Grounds are located approximately 8 miles east of Lake Wales off of SR-60, and approximately 38 miles west of the SR-60 exit (Yeehaw Junction) on the FL Turnpike. From the intersection of SR-60 and Boy Scout Camp Road go north for 2 miles. You will pass the Flaming Arrow Boy Scout Camp entrance on your left. The entrance to the GMHT Field Trial Grounds will be on your left about 1 mile past the Flaming Arrow Boy Scout Camp. Look for TBVC Event Signs. BASKET RAFFLES: Like last year, we will have baskets of goodies to be raffled off individually by Chinese Auction. Many members created their own wonderful basket last year and brought it to the fun weekend. If you don t want to create your own basket, please bring items to be combined into a basket on Saturday. We have always had a good response for our raffle, and we are hoping the same will hold true this year. J HANDLING CLINIC: Outstanding opportunity to get hands on help when handling your Vizsla in the show ring! An instructional ring with a knowledgeable member who will share handling skills on correct stacking, presentation to judge & proper baiting, correct lead control & movement, and what to do if a Wicket gets called for on your dog in the show ring. CONFORMATION FUN MATCH: Great opportunity to use your newly learned skills from the Handling Clinic. Puppies, Young V s and Old are all welcome to join the fun no major pointed or finished Champions may enter except Vizslas 7 years old and over may enter Veterans classes. RALLY WORK SHOP: Individual run through s of Rally exercises. Performances will be scored. Judge will answer questions and provide advice at end of run through s. *** CLAY SHOOTING COMPETITION: So you think you can shoot? Friendly competition with cash prizes for men AND lady s winners. The two top finishers will then compete for TBVC Gunslinger of the Year bragging rights! PARADE OF RESCUES: Free to all rescues. This event is to welcome vizslas rescued by our Club and honor their wonderful families who gave them a forever home. Each rescue will receive a beautiful rosette and a prize during the parade. Even if you have been in the parade in prior years, we welcome you back to join in the fun. ***Tickets will be issued for Locate and point, Clay Shoot and Junior Mock Hunt. They will be in your Welcome Bag when you check in at the Club House on arrival. Please make sure you bring your ticket(s) to each event in which you are entered. Thank you. You must tell them you are with the TBVC event and that you have dogs so that they can put all the dog people in the same area of the hotel. Cabins require a 2 night minimum stay. CAMPING There is no charge for dry camping. Limited hookups are available for $20.00 per night. Hookups are not guaranteed unless you are a GMHT member. If you are not a member, hook-ups are available with preference given in the order received by the event secretary. Please pay event secretary only. Off-site camping is available a short drive away at Kissimmee State Park. http://www.floridastateparks.org/lakekissimmee/default.cfm REMINDER It is going to be summer in Florida -- please be prepared for HOT, HUMID weather and the possibility of THUNDERSHOWERS. While there is an air-conditioned clubhouse, dogs are not allowed inside. Remember to bring lots of water, shade, expens, chairs, rain gear and any other items to make the weekend more comfortable for you and your dogs. Well behaved dogs and owners should feel free to run offleash in the two front fields each day after the days hunting activities have concluded. As with any field event, please be sure to leave the area clean and fill in any holes your dogs or children may dig. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE ON FIELDS. Enjoy the event!
