This information is also subject to publication in other media. DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on a leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercise area. EXERCISE your dog in the designated potty area only; please clean up after your dog. UNENTERED DOGS will not be permitted to crate in the building as space will be limited. NO EX-PENS are permitted on the premisis. Please bring your own chairs. Crates and chairs will be placed in properly designated areas only (indoors/heated). Please be considerate of other exhibitors needing crate space. PARENTS must be responsible for their children at all times. THE DOBERMAN PINSCHER CLUB OF THE TAPPAN ZEE and HUNTERDON K-9 CENTER, LLC. WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENT that may occur to any person, animal, property or vehicle. The exhibitors shall hold the Trial Committee harmless and indemnify it against any legal proceeding arising from any accident. THERE WILL NOT BE AN OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER available at this trial. FREE ADMISSION & PARKING. PRICE OF CATALOG: $5.00 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ENTRIES will be made as soon as practicable with tickets and/or identification cards. SHOULD SUCH ACKNOWLEDGMENT NOT BE RECEIVED BY THE EXHIBITOR within a reasonable time, please notify the Trial Secretary at kkrzysko@optonline.net. This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the official AKC entry form for this event. There have been changes instituted in the Obedience Rules & Regulations effective December 1, 2015. We highly recommend you familiarize yourselves with these changes before trialing. For more information, please visit www.akc.org. If you would like a readable, unofficial copy of the changes in pdf format, please send an email request to the Trial Secretary (kkrzysko@optonline.net) and a copy will be forwarded to you. Some of the changes include: Leashes must be snapped to the collar when dogs are brought in for classes requiring on leash exercises, group exercises and awards. The judge will call the qualifying handlers back into the ring without requiring the dogs to be brought back in for awards. Exhibitors may leave the ring at any time by politely informing the judge they are doing so. The judge s book will be marked handler left ring and carry down an NQ. In the Novice A & B classes, dogs which have qualified during the individual exercises will have the option of returning for the group exercise. The exhibitors must check in for group exercises immediately after completion of the individual exercises. The judge has the option of deciding if the group exercise will be conducted after x number of dogs in the class or if all the group exercises will be conducted after the last team is judged. In the Novice Group Exercises, the leash will remain attached to the dog with the armband secured in an acceptable manner to the leash. In the Beginner Novice class, dogs with a CD, PCD or less will be eligible for this class. Walkthrough time will be reduced from 15 minutes to up to 10 minutes. For the Sit Stay, the exhibitor will state one command to stay; additional commands to stay will result in a substantial penalty. Hands are not to be used as an aid on the recall. The handler will use a command OR signal to come. More than 2 commands or signals to come will result in an NQ. The judge will inform the exhibitor what to do with the leash for the recall. In case of a tie in the Beginner Novice class, the dog and handler will perform the Heel on Leash the same as it is performed in the Beginner Novice Heel on Leash exercise. A dog without any AKC obedience title which was mistakenly entered in a Novice obedience class may have the entry transferred to the Beginner Novice class, provided the host club allows transfers and the class and judge are available. In the Graduate Novice class, the dumbbell is added to the Recall over High Jump exercise. This exercise will be performed in the same manner as the Dumbbell Recall except that the dog must clear the high jump. The Heel on Leash will now be Heel off Leash. For the Group Stay, the judge will have the option to choose the Sit or Down, and will post that option at least 3 minutes prior to the start of that class. The Pre-Classes (such as Pre-Novice) have now been changed to Preferred classes. No changes have been made to the exercises in the Preferred Novice class. 10 - DPCTZ - January 23, 2016 DPCTZ -January 23, 2016-7
