WVS FOSTER CARE CENTRE & ADOPTION PROGRAM Our Foster Care team lead by Karen Gregory is always working hard to find foster carers and permanent homes for the puppies and kittens in our care. WVS Hicks Foster Care Centre and 79 The Pet Stop have teamed up to host regular Puppy and Kitten Adoption Camps. During the camp WVS staff, volunteers, and foster carers all get together and spread the word about adoption and fostering. The idea behind these camps is to create a platform where people could regularly meet and find foster homes and loving permanent homes for homeless young puppies and kittens, which would otherwise not survive. It is encouraging to see a wonderful response from the animal lovers of Goa who are embracing the concept of community responsibility through foster care. The WVS Hicks ITC Team is committed to provide them guidance and support at every step. To date we have organised 9 adoption camps during which 100+ animals have found loving forever homes. Special Story Our team rescues and treats many injured and sick animals every day. It is great to see them get better with our help. Dobby came to us during the Christmas period. Having met with an accident she was unable to use her hind legs and could only stand with assistance. But our dedicated team at the Puppy Centre didn t give up on her and gave her regular massages and physio-therapy. Thanks to their determined efforts she stood by herself after twelve days and progressed from taking a few wobbly steps to a full- fledged run. Dobby is now happily running around in her new home after being adopted by a loving gentleman. Special thanks to our volunteer Micheal and WVS Foster Care Co-ordinator Karen for giving her a new lease of life.
