Welcome to IEDS Ltd training academy online brochure. IEDS provides security, police and leadership management skills training, coaching and mentoring support to clients in the UK and internationally since 2006. Our qualified teaching staff and instructors have a wide range of practical and professional experience in the private and public sector including in government, military, police and commerce. This brochure includes information about course programmes for national and international clients. Many of our courses are formally accredited by external awarding bodies. This provides you and your staff with the reassurance that you are receiving training of the highest quality supplemented by formal certification. IEDS is committed to providing a range of courses designed to equip police and security personnel with the relevant skills to serve and protect in a challenging national and global climate. We believe training programmes must be fit for purpose and we can work closely with you to tailor innovative and imaginative solutions that meet your requirements to Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and Security Industry Association (SIA) guidance standards. We are passionate about the quality of training we deliver and we have developed courses that include simulated and real live environments for practical training at IEDS training facilities offering a variety of stimuli to enhance the learning experience. We offer training on both a residential and day basis at our Cheshire training centre and can deliver training at client s own premises or host country. We can also provide instructors who have had operational experience in regions of conflict. The Location Facilities and resources To provide our customers with quality training solutions that enhances their ability to safely and efficiently perform their missions. IEDS centre is discreetly set in 6 acres of countryside in Cheshire, England and provides learning on a residential and day basis for classroom based study and practical skills training. The training centre facilities include a large open air training area, woodland, diverse training rooms and a fully equipped lecture room and break out areas. We have extensive access to venues to conduct practical training in office buildings, stadia and transport facilities including fuselage. IEDS is an accredited training centre approved by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) to provide training, assessments and examinations. We engage former UK police, and military instructors, who have been involved in training force personnel and fully qualified tutors from the commercial sector. Our combined proven track record and expertise enables you to minimise risks when you invest in training with IEDS and to maximise the opportunities and benefits that the skills and leadership training bring to your organisation. We are passionate about our specialist subjects in which we have extensive operational and training experience for delivering courses in the UK and overseas. We are also committed to providing learning experiences that are relevant and motivational and we offer continuous guidance and support beyond the course programme. All IEDS courses are structured to enable inclusive learning taking into account different learning styles, local customs, culture and legislation. IEDS training centre is easily accessible by road, train and air. We are located less than 40 minutes by road from Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon Airport; 25 minutes from Crewe and Chester Railway stations and London is less than 2 hours by train. 3

Skills Police Skills and Leadership IEDS Ltd has developed courses inline with ACPO and SIA guidance standards that deliver practical skills and leadership training for security and police force personnel in the UK, Middle East, West Africa and USA. We continue to support clients to build capacity and improve front line and management skill sets. We offer a range of accredited courses and can design bespoke training to meet your requirements. Courses are detailed in the latter pages of this brochure and we welcome enquiries to discuss bespoke courses for your organisation. The British Police officer is recognised the world over as a symbol of justice and fairness. But there is much more to British Policing than this popular image - UKTI Security IEDS accredited courses are delivered by qualified instructors to provide you with the reassurance that you are receiving the highest professional standards in security training and enable you to meet compliance regulations in the security sector. We provide Security Guarding, Close Protection, Dog Handler, Conflict Management courses and additional practical training in patrol techniques, self defence and officer survival. IEDS also work with local companies and can arrange volunteer work placements to enable you to gain invaluable on the job experience. Canine IEDS offers fully trained General Purpose, Narcotics, and Explosive Detection Dogs for sale. The dog is considered by many law enforcement agencies as a major asset in the fight against crime and terrorism. A properly trained search dog provides the most efficient and mobile means of detection. Within our training grounds we have a kennel and training facilities, and all dogs and handlers train in simulated and off site real live venues. IEDS also offer detection disciplines in search and rescue, bed bugs, cadaver, and contrabands. 4

Police Skills Police Skills and Leadership Courses IEDS Ltd can deliver a range of courses at its Cheshire training centre, on a residential or day basis, or at client s own facilities or in host country. Management & Leadership To support the development of managers and senior officers, including strategic planning, leadership and management, coaching and mentoring. Professional Development IEDS range of courses are designed to enhance practical skills for officers of different ranks to deal with day to day tasks, such as officer safety, conflict management and hostile environment awareness, arrest protocols including handcuff and baton operations. Defensive Tactics We provide training in public order, self defense, defensive driving, high risk entry methods, VIP protection and hostile environment and cultural awareness courses. Our instructors have operational experience in diverse national and international environments. Police Dog Handler IEDS Police Dog Handler courses are delivered by former British police instructors, recognised internationally, and developed for training in general patrol, explosives, narcotics, cadaver and other search disciplines. We offer mentoring and continuous professional development for the handler or canine team. Police Dog Handler Instructor IEDS offers a Police Dog Handler Instructor course designed to enable organisations to develop their own in house training, maintain and sustain ongoing staff development. Potential candidates must have prior operational dog handling experience. 5

Security Guard Security IEDS Security Guard courses meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). We also offer additional training in patrol techniques, customer service and officer safety. Close Protection IEDS is leading the drive to improve professional standards in security officer training to enable security officers to meet compliance regulations in the security sector and to also be able to provide high levels of customer service and safety awareness. In the UK the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001 requires security personnel to be licensed. In order to obtain this licence officers have to undergo training and assessment by a recognised training provider. IEDS Ltd is an accredited training centre approved by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and is registered to provide training and examinations. IEDS offers Close Protection training as a basic introduction, with intermediate and advanced courses to follow, delivered by qualified instructors with operational experience. Dog Handler IEDS Dog Handler courses in General Purpose, Narcotics, Explosives and other search disciplines are for corporate and public sector clients and individual security professionals. PTLLS IEDS offers Prepare to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector PTLLS course for individuals and for organsations to enable them to deliver training and maintain staff development. 6

General Patrol Bed Bug Detection Canine IEDS patrol dog training programme is extensive and rigorous. All dogs are regularly tested throughout their training and independently assessed. Explosive Detection IEDS together with Mr Richard Naylor a leading entomologist of the UK Bed Bug Foundation, are continuing research into bed bugs detection and to set industry standards. Part Trained The dog is considered by many law enforcement agencies as a major asset in the fight against crime and terrorism. A properly trained search dog provides the most efficient and mobile means of detection. Within IEDS training facilities we have kennels, training rooms, simulated training and off site live venues where our dogs are put through their paces in stadia, offices, warehouses or on board a mock fuselage. A properly trained explosive detection dog will search for and indicate the presence of various amounts of explosives with a noninvasive indication. Narcotics Detection IEDS narcotics detection dogs are trained to the highest standards by trainers who have operational experience in the public and private sector. Cadaver Detection IEDS can provide part trained dogs to detect one odour and are ready for continuous training with an experienced handler. Puppy Programme IEDS has developed a puppy breeding programme with outstanding results. Puppies are selected, assessed and can be available at 16 weeks old. Green Dogs Cadaver (Victim) detection dogs are flexible mobile resources, which can cover large open areas to assist in the recovery of concealed or buried bodies. IEDS Green dog programme, offer dogs that have been through a rigorous process to determine their suitably for training. 7

Security Guard Level 2 Award Duration 4 days Cost 228 The HABC Level 2 Award in Security Guarding has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a security guard within the private security industry. Enables progress onto the NVQ in Providing Security Services or further learning in other areas of the private security industry such as CCTV Operations or Door Supervision. Courses Close Protection Level 3 Award Duration 15 days Cost 1920 The HABC Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications for Close Protection Operatives and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Close Protection Operative. Conflict Management Level 2 Award Duration 1 day Cost 96 The HABC level 2 Award in Conflict Management has been developed to meet the requirements of individuals who require training in conflict management. Prepare to teach in the Life Long Learning Sector PTLLS Level 3 Award Duration 5 days Cost 354 The qualification is ideal for those entering the teaching industry, as well as anyone currently teaching or wishing to teach their subject specialism. If you are a trainer involved in providing funded Work Based Learning (WBL), you may also be required to obtain PTLLS in order to satisfy funding requirements. 8

General Purpose Security Dog Handler Level 2 Award Duration 6 days Cost POA Courses The HABC Level 2 Award for a General Purpose Security Dog Handler aims to provide the learner with the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a General Purpose Security Dog Handler. Passive Drug Detection Dog Handler Level 3 Certificate Duration 15 days Cost POA The HABC Level 3 Certificate for a Passive Drug Detection Dog Handler aims to provide the learner with the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a Passive Drug Detection Dog Team. Proactive Drug Detection Dog Handler Level 3 Certificate Duration 15 days Cost POA The HABC Level 3 Certificate for a Proactive Drug Detection Dog Handler aims to provide the learner with the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a Pro-active Drug Detection Dog Team. Explosive Detection Dog Handler Level 4 Certificate Duration 25 days Cost POA The HABC Level 4 Certificate for Explosive Detection Dog Handlers aims to provide the learner with the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as an Explosive Detection Dog Team. 9

Instructor for General Purpose Dog Handler Duration 20 days Cost POA This course has been designed to provide learners with the necessary understanding, knowledge and skills to enable them to teach the Initial Course and Continuation training of handlers and dogs to fulfill a General Purpose Dog and Handler role and to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of specialist search work. Police Skills Courses Instructor for Drugs Detection Dog Handler Duration 15 days Cost POA This course has been designed to provide learners with the necessary understanding, knowledge and skills to enable them to teach the Initial Course and Continuation training of handlers and dogs to fulfill the role of specialist search work. Instructor for Explosives Dog Handler Duration 25 days Cost POA This course has been designed to provide learners with the necessary understanding, knowledge and skills to enable them to teach the Initial Course and Continuation training of handlers and dogs to fulfill the role of specialist explosive detection search work. Instructor Prepare to teach in the Life Long Learning Sector PTLLS Level 3 Award Duration 5 days Cost POA The qualification is ideal for those entering the teaching industry, as well as anyone currently teaching or wishing to teach their subject specialism.
