Rules: Definitions, show rules and judging procedures as pres cribed in the American Standard of Perfection, copyrighted by the American Poultry Association Inc., shall apply to all district and county fair poultry shows except in such instances where they are in conflict with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Division of Fairs and Expositions of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. 3. Entry Forms & Fees: Mail entry forms and fees to the Mari n County Fair, 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael, CA 94903. Entry forms are available through the Fair Entry Office, 415.473.7048, or online at marinfair.org. 4. Identification: Leg bands mu st be listed on Entry Form. Any changes in leg band numbers must be made two weeks prior to the Fair. Numbers must match exactly the entry bl ank submitted by the exhibitor. Call the Fair E ntry Office at 415.473.7048 if you need a leg band.

5. Passes: Exhibitors entering poultry will receive a five day pass. Exhibitors entering only eggs and/or educational posters will receive a one day pass. 6. Disqualification: A judge or fair management may remove a bird from competition if it appears fatigued or out of condition. 7. Ownership & Minimum Age: Entrants must have owned their animals 30 days prior to closing date of Fair entries. Birds must be at least four months old. 8. Feeding: Feed and water dishes will be provided. Birds will be fed and watered for you. 9. Liability: Fair Management is not to be held responsible for birds if illness or death occurs. 10. Mandatory Meeting: All exhibitors and their parents are required to attend a meeting in the Fur and Feathers Tent on Wednesday, July 2 at 10:30 am. Passes will be distributed at this time. 11. Cage Cleaning: Exhibitors are required to clean their cages on Sunday, July 6, beginning at 5 pm. Cages must be clean before birds are released. 12. Exhibit Reclaim: Entries must be picked up in person, or any other person must have a signed letter or authorization from the exhibitor. 13. Poultry Area is Air Conditioned. Poultry used for showmanship must be exhibited Wednesday, July 2, through Sunday, July 6. 2. Showmanship entries will be accepted Wednesday, July 2. 3. Exhibitor must have their showmanship bird entered in a breed class in order to compete in Poultry Showmanship. 4. Please contact Show Secretary in the Fur & Feathers Tent to enter Showmanship. 39 Novice Showmanship - A Novice is someone who has never competed in a poultry showmanship contest before, regardless of age. 40 Primary Showmanship (5-8 Years of age as of January 1, 2014) 41 Junior Showmanship (9-12 Years of age as of January 1, 2014) 42 Senior Showmanship (13 years of age and older as of January 1, 2014)

American System of Judging Awards Offered per 1st through 5th Place Ribbons Will Be Awarded at the Discretion of the Judges No Cash Awards for Showmanship. Youth placing 1st and 2nd in Junior and Senior Showmanship are invited to compete in Small Animal Round Robin Showmanship. California State Fair County Fair Best of Show Junior Poultry Competition This special competition is open to exhibitors winning a Best of Show Award in a Junior Poultry Competition at their County, District, or Citrus Fair. Competitions offered in Large Poultry, Bantam Poultry, Geese, Ducks, and Turkeys. Call the Fair Office at 415.473.7048 for Entry Deadlines. Division 532 Poultry Judging Contest The Poultry Judging Contest will take place on Saturday, July 5, beginning at 12 noon. Exhibitors will judge whole carcasses, pieces of carcasses, whole eggs, and eggs out of shell.
