GENERAL INFORMATION AND REGULATIONS 1. CHAPTER 6.3.3 CKC DOG SHOW RULES - A judge officiating at a show /trial held under these rules shall not be subjected to indignities of any kind during the progress of the show/trial. It shall be the duty and obligations of the club holding the show/trial to see that this rule is effectively carried out. 2. CHAPTER 28.1.1 & 28.1.2, CKC SHOW DOGS RULES - "The participation of any manner or in any capacity at a competitive event held under these Rules shall be considered a privilege accorded any person by the CKC and such privilege may be extended and withdrawn by the Discipline Committee." Any person availing himself of the privilege of participating in any manner, shape or form and in any capacity, including that of a spectator as a competitive event held under these rules shall, by such participation, be deemed to have agreed to any authority of the CKC and it's Board of Directors." 3. ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE ACKNOWLEDGED OR REFUNDED (AFTER CLOSING DATE) In the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a veterinarian, or a judge, or barred from competition by act of the show/trial committee or because it has been entered incorrectly except as provided for in "4" below. If because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the Labrador Retriever Club of Alberta, it is impossible to open or complete the show, NO REFUND of entry fees will be made. 4. ENTRY FEES WILL BE REFUNDED WHEN A BITCH ENTERED IN OBEDIENCE COMES INTO SEASON. Any female entered in the OBEDIENCE trials who, because of because of being in season, cannot compete will have the entry fee refunded. A VETERINARIAN"S CERTIFICATE (certifying that the bitch was in season within 10 days preceding the trial) must be delivered to the show/trial Secretary PRIOR to the commencement of that trial's judging. This does not apply to the Championship show, as this condition is not a disqualification in conformation. 5. The official Veterinarian is "ON CALL". Anyone who wishes to have his or her service should approach the Show Superintendent who will arrange for the Veterinarian's attendance. Please note that the person requesting the veterinarian's service will meet any charge for this service. 6. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show/trial, which will be governed by the CKC rules. Dogs must be on the show grounds one hour prior to the scheduled judging of their breed. Dogs, which are not required for further judging, may be excused. Dogs must be ready for judging. The club and it's superintendent will not be responsible and are not obliged to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of breed and class judging. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class or group. Owners or agents are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the ring. 7. The show committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident, or other misfortune, to dogs, exhibitors, patrons or property. 8. All empty rings are to be kept free of dogs. Dogs and children must be under control at all times. All dogs must be kept on max 6' leash, unless competing in Obedience Ring. 9. DOGS MUST BE EXERCISED IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Persons exercising dogs outside of the designated area who make no effort to clean up may be disqualified from that day's show/trial. 10. No dogs will be allowed on the show site unless entered in the show or trial or entered in exhibition only. Any dogs In Transit will be asked to prove age - CKC registration certificate - and must be registered with Show Secretary Chapter 13.10.1 & 13.10.2 CKC SHOW DOG RULES 11. All entries must be typed or distinctly printed. Owners are responsible for errors on the entry forms. The LRCA does not assume any responsibility for incorrect information on an entry form due to illegibility of information submitted by the owner or owner's agent or entering a dog in a class which the dog in not eligible to enter. 12. Any ENTRY may be withdrawn PRIOR to the date and time of closing by phone, provided that the Show Secretary receives withdrawal of entry in writing within 7 days after closing. Entries withdrawn by phone, but not confirmed in writing within the allowable time will be considered as valid and appear in the Show Catalogue, in which case, fees will not be refunded. 13. No signs stating dogs/puppies for sale will be allowed on show site. However communication with the public to promote your particular breed is encouraged. 14. Please obey posted parking signs. The LRCA will not be responsible for parking tickets incurred by exhibitors who illegally park in fire lanes or other designated no parking zones 15. CKC RULE 8.5.8 In the case of a judge change (substitute or overload) an exhibitor may enter a dog under the replacement judge providing that the dog is entered in one of the regular classes of a show being held at the same venue by the same club and has been assigned a competition number. A new entry, along with accompanying fees, will be accepted by the show secretary up to one hour prior to the start of the show. 16. Exhibitors affected by judge changes due to overloads may withdraw their entries up to one hour before judging of the breed, providing that notice of withdrawal is made in writing. All entry and listing fees will be refunded. 17. New rule 12.2.2 Dogs of the age of 3 to 6 months may be entered as exhibition only, ONLY if the exhibitor has a dog entered in the Regular official classes. LRCA has the right to restrict the entry of 3-6 month old dogs to 2 per exhibitor. These puppies may not compete in any events, official or unofficial and are not required to be listed in the catalogue. 18. The LRCA reserves the right to remove from the show and trials any person or dog for any just cause. Any dog excused by the show superintendent or veterinarian for any reason shall not compete in any classes or accept any awards for the durations of the shows or trials. No refund of any fees will be made. 19. Exhibitors are reminded to respect hospitality facilities. The LRCA reserves the right to refuse future entries from any exhibitor who creates excessive destruction or disruption to the host facility( Hotel, Motel, or Campground) 20. Volunteers, show officials and exhibitors shall not be subjected to indignities by fellow exhibitors/participants at this show. LRCA holds the right to have an exhibitor removed from the show precincts for any behaviours that do not show respect of others.
CLASSIFICATIONS OBEDIENCE The following Official classes will be provided for all breeds Novice A- Novice B- Open A - Open B Utility Veterans This is for any purebred dog that has not won the title of CD (Companion Dog). No licensed handler, professional trainer, or any person who has previously handled a dog through its OTCH title in Canada or elsewhere shall be allowed to compete in this class. A dog which has earned a comparable degree in any foreign country is not eligible for entry in this class This is for any purebred dog that has not won the title of CD(Companion Dog) in Canada. Dogs in this class may be handled by any person. More than one dog may be entered by any handler, but each dog must have a separate handler for the Sit and Down exercises. A dog which has won a comparable degree in any foreign country is eligible for entry in this class. This is for any purebred dog that has earned the title CD in Canada but has not earned the title of CDX (Companion Dog Excellent). Only one dog may be entered in this class by any one exhibitor.
