ASEAN Veterinary Volunteer Project (AVVP Project) Project name; "ASEAN Veterinary Volunteer Project" Strategic meet; Strategy 3 Leader for National and International Veterinary Services Strategic method; International Center for knowledge dissemination in Veterinary Services Background ASEAN has been found since 1967 with the beginning of 6 members including Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Singapore and Thailand and later on added with another 4 members of Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar and Vietnam. In year 2003,ASEAN agreed to set the direction to become ASEAN Economic Community: AEC) within 2015 under the 3 supportive pillars which compose of ASEAN Security Community, ASEAN Social-Cultural Community and ASEAN Economic Community. Thailand and others countries may encounter both crises and opportunities when the ASEAN Economic Community is implemented in a few year. There will be movement of labors, education sector must be adapted to be survive, freedom in education, Students movement among AEC countries, International Quality Assurance in Educational sectors, Joints degree and so forth. Entrepreneurs and educational sectors should work together to revamp curricula. The curricula revamp should encourage students to think analytically and be able to solve problems so they are able to handle problems when growing up as well as understand the ways of life and cultures of other ASEAN countries and challenging them not only in ASEAN country but in the World market. The faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University is devoted ourselves and pay much attention in producing high quality Veterinarian, Research and Veterinary service to the public. We strongly support our Veterinary student with new knowledge and wisdom to become high qualified Veterinarian after their graduation. Also, the faculty have been well doing public service with advanced in Veterinary profession and to meet with social needs for example concerning of farms animal health, human and animal health interaction, outbreak disease control and prevention, zoonotic diseases and to prevent health risk of such disease to consumer as known as the top of food webs. Moreover, there also concerning in increasing of farm animal production efficiency, reducing operating cost in agricultural and agroindustrial sectors. Since the faculty mission is to become a leader in Veterinary education and profession in Thailand and in ASEAN, we pay much effort to be a part of Thai academic to push our education to be accepted in the ASEAN community in the coming year. Thus, all intrinsic potential and skills in Veterinary profession and education in related to "One Heatlh Approaches" will be promoted and supported to our neighboring countries in ASEAN members. The first activity is the establishment of Students group for Veterinary Volunteers project in the selected rural areas of our neighboring country in ASEAN. The activities composes of Internship training Program for Veterinary students,

2 Veterinarian, and human resource development for Veterinary Assistant in aims to promote of Veterinary Profession in ASEAN and exchange cultural activities, learning different cultures and finally prepare themselves and our students for the AEC in 2015. Objectives Project owner: 1. Prepare staff and students to know and understand ASEAN 2. Lifting the readership and potential of Veterinary profession and staff and students development 3. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is a key organization to support Thai Academic to AEC 4.
