Rabbit Show is Monday, July 7, 2014 (exhibitors need to be present); Poultry Show is Tuesday, July 8, 2014 (exhibitors need NOT be present except for showmanship). AS Adults - Exhibitors 19 years of age & over as of the date of the show. Rabbit Show is Monday, July 7, 2014 (exhibitors need to be present); Poultry Show is Tuesday, July 9 (exhibitors need NOT be present except for showmanship). Option: Youth may choose to compete with the adults; however, entries MUST be different animals from their youth entries. Please use separate entry forms if choosing this option. GENERAL RULES for all small animals ENTRY CARE 1. Check the bulletin board near Morton & offices for any changes in the schedules, etc. 2. Entries are to be made on forms furnished by the Red River Valley Fair and are to be paid in full at the time entry is made to the Fair office. 3. Entry fees for all sections, $1.00 per entry (unless otherwise specified for some contests) 4. Make remittance to: Red River Valley Fair, PO Box 797, West Fargo, ND 58078-0797. 5. Refunds: Once registered, there will be no refunds on entry fees after July 1 st. 6. All entries must be made in the name of the exhibitor and must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor. 7. Youth exhibitors (YS) may only show two animals per class and lot. Those showing in the youth division must pre-register to ensure availability of cages and pens. Youth exhibitors may show rabbits in either division; however no rabbit may be shown in more than one division. Rabbits exhibited by Cass County 4H members may be judged additionally for Cass County Achievement Days separate entry forms will be available to Cass County 4H members. 8. Those youth wishing to show in the adult/open show instead of youth must follow the same rules as the other open/adult class exhibitors. 9. Upon arrival, all entries are subject to inspection by the Red River Valley Fair. Cage cards may be picked up from the superintendent at time of inspection. Any animal deemed ill or unacceptable for display will be removed. 10. Late arrivals of exhibits must have prior approval of the show superintendent in order to be eligible for premium money or awards. If not approved prior to arrival, entry fees will be double. This includes For Sale animals. 11. All animals and birds that come into grounds must be entered and left for display during the fair. 12. Sale animals leaving early must be replaced immediately with a similar type or premium will be forfeited. 13. There is an entry limit of 50 birds per family in the poultry section. 14. No parking will be allowed inside the fairgrounds, all parking in designated parking lots outside the fairgrounds. 15. Exhibitors are responsible for the care and feeding of their rabbits unless other provisions are made ahead of time. The Fair volunteers will assist in feeding and water of rabbits, please contact superintendent if assistance is desired. 16. The Fair will furnish cages and wood chips for rabbit and poultry exhibits. Straw is not allowed in buildings. In case of more entries than available cages, early entries will be given first chance at cages. 17. Feed, Feeders, and waterers for rabbits must be provided by exhibitors. The Fair will furnish water for all entries. 18. Exhibitors must furnish their own padlocks for cages if desired. 19. The Fair volunteers will feed, water, and care for poultry and pigeons, using non-medicated ration courtesy of Hubbard Feeds, Inc. of Grandin. If a special diet is desired, exhibitors must provide feed and written instructions to poultry superintendent. Water containers will be provided for chickens; however, waterfowl containers should be provided by exhibitor. 20. If cages are not kept clean, owners will be requested to remove their animals and will forfeit any entry fees and premiums. Sick animals must be removed immediately by owners. 21. All animals must be kept in the Morton & Foltz buildings and cannot be carried around the fairgrounds. 22. Animals can be transported between a vehicle and the building in the most direct route possible. Any exhibitor failing to follow this rule may forfeit their premium money. 23. Anyone carrying an objectionable animal on the grounds other than in the Morton & Foltz buildings will be asked to remove the animal from the premises. JUDGING 24. All classes listed as any other will be judged together. If four or more of the same breed and/or color are shown, then a separate class may be made for them. 25. In absence of competition in any division or class, judges shall award prizes only where worthy. 26. Animals shown in pens or pairs may not be shown as individuals and individuals may not be shown in pair or pens. 27. Rabbits and Poultry shown in breed classes may not be shown in market classes and vice versa. 28. Inferior animals or birds not true to breed will be disqualified from judging. AWARDS 29. Trophies and/or rosettes may be given to best of breed and best in show. 30. Stickers may be used in place of Ribbons. 31. Animals that leave before release time without prior approval by the show superintendent will forfeit premiums 32.
