BREED UITABILITY TET INFORMATION The Breed uitability Test (BT) is designed to select those Rottweilers that are worthy of being bred. The dog s conformation must be judged of breeding quality and free of disqualifying faults. The dog must have a valid hip certification number and have a tattoo for identification. Once the conformation and soundness qualifications have been met, the dog s temperament is tested. This test includes a gun sureness test, a protection test, and a test to insure that the dog is stable around the public. The United tates Rottweiler Club strongly believes that these tests are vital to maintain the Rottweiler in type and temperament and should be the cornerstone of any breeding program. BT Prerequisites Information for Owners & Handlers The BT will be conducted according to the URC regulations. The judgment of the Kormeister or Judge is final. No appeals are possible. BT critiques are not official until checked, recorded and signed by the Head Breed Warden and/or the Administrator of Records. After the BTs are approved, the original copy will be forwarded to the dog owner. The BT paperwork must be complete and available for inspection on the day of the test. If this is not done, the BT will not be signed and will be deemed invalid. The dog may retest. Both the owner and handler must be URC members. The owner and/or handler of any dog are liable for any damage caused by his or her dog. The dog must be registered with URC. The dog must be tattooed. A microchip will be allowed in lieu of a tattoo provided the handler supplies a working scanner. The dog must have a URC recognized hip certification. The dog must have passed a URC recognized BH. The entry form for the BT must be sent to the Host Club before the entry closing date. Other BT Information The URC tandard for the Rottweiler (FCI tandard #146/16.01.1996/GB) will be used for judging this event. Males shall be judged first, followed by females with females in season last. If a dog fails the character or protection phase of the BT two more attempts may be made. If the dog does not pass the BT on the third attempt, it will be deemed unbreedable. No further attempts will be allowed. All URC sanctioned events for conformation shall be restricted to registered Rottweilers only. Dogs with Restricted URC Registrations or AKC Limited Registrations may not enter a BT. Dogs born in countries where docking is forbidden by law, shall be shown with the tail left in its natural state. Effective for all dogs born on or after June 1, 1999. If a dog is presented at the BT and has a tail, which has been cut in violation of these rules, the dog shall not be allowed to test There shall be no preference in critiquing dogs with docked tails or for dogs with tails left in the natural state.

Copies of the following documents must be submitted with BT entry. Copy of URC Membership Card for both owner and handler. Copy of URC Registration for the dog being entered.
