NIGHTHAWK ROTTWEILERS Daviann L. Mitchell 16747 Radclay Street Canyon Country, CA. 91387-3945 (661) 250-7514 e-mail: daviannb@aol.com December 1, 2003 Thank you for your inquiry on Multi V-1, ARV Sieger, Multi- AOM, Ch Nighthawk s Quite the Man v Wyndhurst TT, CGC, HIC, 2002 ARC Top Twenty, a.k.a. Zorro. I hope you find this letter informative and responsive to your questions. I purchased Zorro from Nicola Lundregan Davis of Wyndhurst Rottweilers. Zorro was purchased from me when he was 7 weeks old by his current owners, Ray and Karel Simms, and we co-owned him until August 2002. Now Ray and Karel own him solely. To give you some background on Zorro, he is out of Group Winning, Multi V-1, Multi BISS, Am/Can Ch Von Boylan Antonio Banderas B, SchH 3, AD, BST, TT, HIC, CGC, CRC Gold Achievement Award, USRC Gold Merit Award, and MRC Hall of Fame and V-CH Evrmor s Blackgammon v BAAR CDX, B, HT, CS, TT, CGC, RTD. Zorro is OFA Excellent, RO-62048E25M-PI, OFA Elbows clear, RO-EL03812-PI, CERF RO-3927N/2001-20, and Cardiac RO-CA1133/36M/P-PI. I have included in Zorro s stud package his certifications, DNA, critiques, title verifications and DNA profile. His brucellosis is pending as well. Zorro began his show career with a bang with a 1 st 6-9 dogs and Reserve Winners Dog as well as 2 nd in Sweepstakes at the 00
Kansas City Rottweiler Club at 6 months and 2 days old. Zorro continued his winning ways at the 00 Gold State Rottweiler Club Specialty by winning both his sweeps and regular 6-9 class. Zorro took another trip to Northern California to the 00 American Rottweiler Club National Specialty and won 1 st 6-9 Sweepstakes. Zorro was Best in Sweepstakes at 00 ARC Region II Specialty (Lima, Ohio), Best in Sweepstakes at 00 Dogwood Rottweiler Club Specialty, Best in Sweepstakes at 00 Gulfstream Rottweiler Club Specialty, and Best of Opposite Sweepstakes at 01 Seminole Rottweiler Club Specialty (his sister Hailo was Best in Sweeps that day!). Zorro was also 1 st 12-15 Futurity at 01 Medallion Rottweiler Club Specialty. Zorro finished his championship with a similar flair. He was Winners Dog and Best of Winner for 4 point major at 00 Carolina Rottweiler Club Supported Entry, North Carolina from the 9-12 class and this supported entry was the day before Regionals. Zorro finished his championship at 17 months old by going Winners Dog for 5 points at the 01 Seminole Rottweiler Club Specialty. Considering Zorro s early finish, he was held out of the AKC show ring and allowed to mature. During his time off, Zorro attended a few German Sieger Shows, both ARV and USRC, and has never been out of the ribbons. In fact, Zorro was V-1 ARV Sieger on Dec. 9, 2001, Monticello, Florida and also V-1 Champion Class at 02 United States Rottweiler Club Nationals under ADRK breeder judge Gerhard Apel. Since Zorro and his family relocated to the West Coast and in particular, Reno, Nevada, he has knocked them dead with his handler Cheryl Cates. In his first 7 weekends out, Zorro accumulated enough points to qualify for the 2002 Eukanuba Classic by being in the Top 25 Rottweilers in the Country. Zorro has nearly 300 breed points since he started showing in June 2002 and over 20 Best of Breeds. Recently, Zorro was awarded 1 st Award of Merit at 02 American Rottweiler Club Regional Specialty in Pleasanton, California. We anticipate that Zorro will finish well within the Top Twenty at year-end and possibly in Top Ten.
Zorro comes from a litter of nine (9) puppies, eight (8) that are finished. Zorro s litter was repeated and out of the nine (9) puppies, three (3) are finished and four (3) more are pointed. Gammon was Winners Bitch at the 98 Mile High Rottweiler Club Specialty owner handled as well as Reserve Winners Bitch at the 98 American Rottweiler Club National Specialty. Gammon is in contention for Top Producer for this year as well and she only has two litters. Zorro s strengths are his type, bone, color and topline. His front is correct and he is true, but he could use a stronger croup and stronger rear. At this point, he seems a little out of balance front to rear. Zorro needs to be bred to bitches strong in the croup and rear and clean in the head. Zorro has a beautiful head, but he is a bit wet. Zorro will be used on a limited basis only to bitches of merit. Zorro s stud fee is currently $1200 if the bitch is titled and $1300 if she is not titled. Fresh cooled semen as well as frozen semen is available and the bitch owner is responsible for all additional costs associated with these methods of breeding. If frozen semen is used, the bitch owner is responsible for fees to replace the used semen (usually one collection fee is required). We would prefer to do a live breeding, but with Zorro s show schedule we would do what we can to accommodate you. Zorro s DNA profile is currently on file with AKC. Thank you for your inquiry about Zorro. If I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to call or email me. Look forward to hearing form you in the future.
