I hope that you and your family will choose to be with us this year at the 12th annual Head of the Class sale. It seems like yesterday that the Head of the Class sale hosted their first event, and it is even more exciting to see the evolution of the operations involved with the sale. DP Sales Management along with Steve and Margaret Sanders invite you to be with us on September 27th. After last year s sale you know that Sanders Ranch reduced their total numbers of cows. Though the herd is smaller; the enthusiasm is high. Sanders Ranch dedication to the breed and producing top quality seed stock still remains the same. Steve has invited some new and exciting participants along with some past faithful customers. The same rules applies as in the previous sales, sell your best and the Sanders crew will roll out the hospitality This is the place to come and select your next show calf for AJSA events. The breds are outstanding as usual. At the 2014 sale you will find many unique packages of genetics that many will find appealing and beneficial for any program. Cottontail s influence continues however come and study all the possibilities. The depth and quality of the lots in the Head of the Class sale always makes me extremely proud to work with a group so focused on moving forward in the Simmental breed. No matter what you are looking for or what your budget might be, I know you will find something in Louisburg you can t wait to load on your trailer. We always brag on Steve Sanders for his gracious hospitality during the sale, and will continue to for years to come. Steve and his crew make the Head of the Class a true five star event for everyone in attendance. It makes our job easy when you have someone like Steve who cares so much about the presentation of his animals along with his gift of amazing hospitality. It really is a honor to call Sanders Ranch and the Head of the Class home for the weekend of September 26. Study your catalog and call for additional details on your favorites. If you can not be with us on sale day, please utilize DV Auctions or any member of the sale staff listed in the catalog. Everyone involved in the Head of the Class sale is willing to assist you in any way we can, so please do not hesitate to ask. We look forward to seeing you on September 27th for the 12th annual Head of the Class Sale. Contact Drew, Holli or myself we be glad to assist with any of your needs at the Head of the Class. There are full sibs to Cottontail, full sibs in blood to Cottontail, even maternal and paternal sibs to Cottontail, but in this sale, all the progeny are out of the one and only cow herself, Cottontail! Kickin Tail was Cottontails natural calf that was one of the heaviest weaning calves we have ever had here at the ranch, he was simply a man among boys that year. He has impressed all visitors at the ranch with many people asking when we were going to offer him for sale, well the answer is September 27th 2014. We have sold many units of semen on Kickin Tail without even running and ad, we leased him to Sunset View Farms when he was young, resulting in one of the high selling yearling bulls this past spring. His calves come easy and will flat out grow!!! With his Dream On free pedigree it is really easy to turn him out with a majority of cows in the pasture and not worry about line-breeding. This is one big stout young bull that can go out and breed a lot of cows and sell some semen to help pay the bills. Kickin Tail is Homo Black and Homo polled. We are selling full possession and 75% semen interest in Kickin Tail. For further information contact us at the ranch or DP Sales. KenCo Miley Cottontail - reference dam

REA 0.31 Whether it s flipping through the catalog or walking through API 82 the lots on sale day, you all will find this one with little attention needed! In our minds, this is the prototypical1/2 blood Simmental female. Phenotypically she is good jointed, perfect uddered, smooth as a ribbon, and as good looking as God makes em, except Dave Zeis made this one. Genotypically speaking, this cow offers the serious breeder the versatility to mate her any way you want to take her; she is backed by generations of substantially proven, profitable, and recognizable Simmental and Angus cattle names. With only her third calf at side, take advantage of our mistake in letting this one go. Her mating to WLE Big Deal just might be the best one yet; it has been a case of excitement around here ever since we dropped the straw of semen in her in May. This is what I like to call a staple kind of female; like bread and milk this is the kind of heifer that you can never have too many of around. Fundamental in her design from the ground up; she is soft footed, good in her angles, impressive in her center body, substantial in her chest and base, with still the right kind of look. Most breeders can sympathize when I say, It is nice when a plan comes together and that is what you are seeing first-hand here. This 3/4 blood female is the proud product of an up breeding scheme that originated with the purchase of her phenotypically flawless dam from Cane Ridge Cattle Company in partnership with Parke Livestock Enterprises. This cow is the perfect illustration of the good things that the legendary CNS Dream On L186 has done for the high percent Simmental cattle population in the US. Good uddered, moderate, flexible cattle, with an undeniable look; all of which are noted as good as we know how to in this cow. Better yet, she readily transmits all of those sought after traits into the next generation as you will see.
