The Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America, Inc. Hall of Fame Effective Date: January 1, 2014 Requirements Updated 07/2013 Statement of Purpose: The Hall of Fame of the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America, Inc., honors the breed s most accomplished Flat-Coated Retrievers that have also proven that they reflect the dual purpose nature of the breed. Inherent in the requirements for admission to the Hall of Fame is the intention to foster the historical concept of the Flat-Coated Retriever as a dual purpose dog, the strong but elegant, cheerful hunting retriever, free from disqualifying fault, as described in the official Breed Standard adopted by the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America, Inc. Requirements for Admittance: Dogs can apply for admittance to the FCRSA Hall of Fame by earning a minimum of 175 points based on their accomplishments. The point schedule for each area of accomplishment follows below. Other Regulations Governing Admittance:

Points are cumulative. For example, a dog earning a CD (5 pts), a CDX (15 pts) and a UD (30 pts) has earned a total of 50 points. Because the AKC Hunt Test program does not require a dog to obtain the lower level hunt test titles before progressing to a higher testing level, any dog that earns a Senior title without first obtaining the Junior title will be allowed to count the Junior title points in the total. In addition, any dog that earns a Master title without first obtaining the Junior or Senior titles will be allowed to count the Junior and Senior title points in the total. Excepting the WC/WCX, all points must be earned at AKC licensed All-Breed shows or trials, or the FCRSA, Inc. National Specialty show, trial or test. Preferred Class Option: For those owners that wish to compete in agility but have concerns over the potential long term consequences of jumping a dog at full height, there is now the option of earning points from the preferred agility classes instead of the regular classes. Those who choose to use points from the preferred classes will not be allowed to count points from the regular agility classes toward the Hall of Fame. The person applying for Hall of Fame status for a dog must be the owner or breeder of the dog, must be a member in good standing of the FCRSA, Inc. at the time of application and is responsible for submitting verification of the dog s accomplishments. Neutered Dogs/Spayed Bitches: After accumulating all necessary points and fulfilling the necessary requirements for admittance to the Hall of Fame, the owner or breeder of a neutered dog/spayed bitch may apply to the FCRSA, Inc. to have the bench requirement waived. The dog/bitch must be determined to be an adequate specimen of Flat-Coat breed type. To request the waiver of the bench requirement, they must submit a request to the FCRSA Board of Directors who will appoint two (2) members, in good standing, and in close proximity to the applicant to examine the applicant and send their written remarks directly to the FCRSA board for review. The board will notify both the party requesting the waiver and the Hall of Fame chair of their decision. ILP Dogs: Are not eligible for the Hall of Fame. Foreign Registered Dogs: Are eligible for the Hall of Fame. Foreign Accomplishments: Are not included in the Hall of Fame. Verification: All awards must earned by the December 31st deadline. For awards earned prior to December 1st, verification must be submitted by December 31st. For awards earned in December, verification may be presented

up to January 15th. For each of the dog s accomplishments, one of the following must be submitted for verification: 1. An official AKC print out of the dog s competition record / titles / achievements OR Photocopies of official AKC title certificates 2. Photocopies of FCRSA WC/WCX certificates 3. Hard and/or emailed copies of awards from The Retriever Field Trial News, Volume, Issue and Page Number 4. Hard and/or emailed copies of awards from the Master National Retriever Club showing record of a Master National pass. The following must also be submitted: 1. Hard AND Electronic photograph for FCRSA HOF notebook and newsletter 2. Hard AND Electronic write up for FCRSA HOF notebook and newsletter The FCRSA shall maintain a listing of Hall of Fame dogs. This listing shall include a photograph of the dog and a complete record of verified accomplishments as provided by the applicant. When necessary, the record of a Hall of Fame dog shall be updated and kept current. There will be a Hall of Fame induction ceremony held each year at the FCRSA National Specialty. The FCRSA Board of Directors shall appoint a committee (one of whom shall have been on a previous Hall of Fame committee) that will review the Hall of Fame requirements every five (5) years (or sooner if deemed appropriate). Send the completed application, postmarked no later than 1/15 to: Linda Schmidt 3992 Dover Center Road North Olmsted, OH 44070-1704 E-Mail: HOF@fcrsa.org For questions, call Linda Schmidt HOF Committee Chair 440-283-9188 INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
