Last year I attended the Montgomery AKC show and really got excited at seeing the huge amount of great schnauzers being shown. I would love to see that here in Canada. I am not a large kennel but I think that it is really important to breed for quality not quantity. I currently have 3 schnauzers, all 3 colours, 12, 10, 3 years. MSCC NATIONAL SPECIALTY SHOW 2015 Spruce Meadows show venue. Best Puppy: Ch. Maiha Dreamaker Trying My Luck BOS and BW: Shantays Too Posh To Play The 2015 National Specialty held at beautiful Spruce Meadows in Calgary, is now in the history books. The weekend started Friday evening with a supper at Kay s house where the exhibitors enjoyed BBQ ribs, potato salad, and beans followed by home made cream puffs and watermelon - Yum, Yum. Lots of water being consumed as the weather was in the 30 s that day. Added interest to the evening, Cathy McMillan presented her talk on Colour Inheritance. Fast forward to Sunday, the day of the Specialty. Weather once again co-operated. Sherri started with the Puppy Sweeps. Winner was Ch. Maiha Dreamaker Trying Best In Sweeps: Ch. Maiha Dreamaker Trying My Luck My Luck. Onto the breed judging where AmGCh.CanCh Minuteman Justified won the breed, BOS, BW, WB went to Shantays Too Posh To Pay, WM was captured by Minuteman Up With The Birds, BP again went to Ch.Maiha Dreamaker Trying My Luck. Select Dog: AmGCh.CanGCh Dreamaker High Flyer and Select Bitch: AmCanCh. Empire Dreamaker Inspiration. I need to thank both Rhoda Dease and Marija Kuncic for their help putting this Specialty together. And a thank you to Elizabeth Cunningham for her help with the supper. Also to Cathy McMillan for her talk. Thanks to Sheeri Trithart for judging the Puppy Sweeps, and Paul Price for Ring stewarding. In order for a Specialty to be a success, it takes effort from our members in organizing and ultimately the support from the members with their entries. Some of our members travelled a distance to be here, and without entries, there is no Specialty. Thank you for coming. Interestingly, we had a catalogue from a National Specialty put on in 1990. There were a total of 23 entries and 1 exhibition. The times they are a changin. Kay DeVeyrac, President, MSCC 5
