ENGLISH COCKER SPANIEL CLUB OF CANADA GENERAL INFORMATION RECEIPT OF ENTRIES AND ASSIGNMENT OF POSITIONS We will be accepting entries by CANADA POST or COURIER ONLY. EACH ENTRY MUST BE MAILED IN A SEPARATE ENVELOPE (Rule 6.1.19). No hand-delivered, faxed, telephoned or e-mailed entries will be accepted. Rule 6.6.1: The trial secretary will notify the entrant on the day the entry is received. Confirmation of entries and position of the exhibitor, or alternate list will be provided on the closing date. When the advertised limit has been reached, all remaining entries shall be assigned a position on an alternate list in the order received. Once the advertised limit has been reached, all remaining entries will be assigned a position on the Alternate list in the order that they are received. On the closing date the club will notify all applicants of their position in the test or on the alternate list as such case may be by mail or e-mail. PAYMENT Please make all cheques or money orders payable to: The English Cocker Spaniel Club of Canada Rule 4.1 (m): A listing fee as established by the Canadian Kennel Club ($8.40) must accompany the entry of a dog for which the Canadian Kennel Club individual registration number or Event Registration Number (ERN) or Performance Event Number (PEN) is not shown on the entry form. U.S. entrants may pay fees by money order in Canadian Funds OR by personal check in U.S. funds for the full amount of the fees. Personally discounted cheques will not be accepted and please do not mark cheques payable in Canadian funds as these will not be accepted. If a dog successfully earns a title in this test and the dog is wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is NOT a CKC member, he or she must either become a member of the CKC or pay a non-member participation fee in order for the title to be awarded. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved to the next level. This fee covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. Tendering a post-dated or NSF cheque will be considered as non-payment and will subject the issuer of the NSF cheque to a $25.00 handling fee REFUNDS As soon as respective tests have been filled, entries are automatically closed even though the published closing date may not have been reached (rule 6.2.1). An entry received after entries have closed will be assigned a position on the alternate list. If a dog is
withdrawn after entries are closed, refunds will only be permitted where there is an Alternate available and actually fills the vacancy on the test day. If an entrant pulls out of the test and his or her position is filled by an alternate who accepts the position, then the alternate is now responsible for the entry fee paid to the club. (Rule 6.6.1). Anyone on the alternate list may request a refund at any time prior to the test day. BITCHES IN SEASON Bitches in season may compete but they will run last. Please advise the test secretary immediately upon arrival at the rendezvous point. TRACKING AREAS Handlers are advised that fields may have recently been sprayed with farmyard manure. RENDEZVOUS AND TRACK DRAW The rendezvous point for the test will at Woodwynn Farms, 7789 West Saanich Road, Saanichton, BC V8M 2C5. The draw will take place at 8:00 a.m.. Any primary entrant not present at the assigned draw time will forfeit their position to the first available alternate present. The first TD track will run at 8:30 a.m. or as soon thereafter as the track has been sufficiently aged. LUNCHEON, RIBBONS AND PRIZES A no-host luncheon will be held at Woodwynn Farms at 12:00 noon or following the completion of the final TDX track at which time the Judge will present ribbons and prizes to the successful teams from all test categories. PARKING Parking is available at the site. A marshal will be available to assist with parking. All dogs must be kept in cars until they are called to track. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY In attending this test, competitors, spectators and guests acknowledge that they do so at their own risk to themselves and their dogs. They also agree they will not hold liable the C.K.C., the English Cocker Spaniel Club of Canada, test officials, the judge or the land owner(s) for any loss, damage or injury, however arising to themselves, their dogs or any chattels. DISCIPLINE-INDIGNITIES (Rule 14.7) It shall be the duty and obligation of the test-giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at an event held under these rules, is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Tracking Test Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred.
GALLERY The Club s primary interest is for the benefit of the dog and handler. Spectators are expected to obey instructions given by test officials. Woodwynn Farms is a fully operating farm and participants are asked to be extremely respectful of the land and the people and animals living on the farm. Smoking is strictly forbidden.
