THE RICHARD R. MAZE MEMORIAL CHALLENGE TROPHY As an enduring reminder of his devoted stewardship to our club and to the sport of dogs, the Bulldog Club of Texas offers, at its Saturday Specialty only, the Richard R. Maze Memorial Challenge Trophy. This trophy will be inscribed with the Best of Breed winner s name, handler s name, owner s name, and breeder s name. The winner of the trophy will have the option to take possession for one year if they are breeder, owner and handler, and agree to sign a *trophy contract. If the Best of Breed winner does not meet these criteria (breeder, owner, and handler), then the club will keep the trophy. Permanent possession of the trophy will be awarded if the trophy is won three times by the same breeder, owner, and handler but not necessarily with the same bulldog. A small replica of the Richard R. Maze Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the Best of Breed winner each year, and will be published in the premium list. *Trophy Contract: By signing this contract the winner agrees to be responsible for returning the trophy the following year. They also must provide proof of adequate Home -owners insurance in case the trophy is stolen or damaged. The winner must also allow the club sufficient time to have the trophy inscribed. TROPHIES & PRIZES Saturday Trophies will be awarded for: Best of Breed, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite, Winners Dog, Reserve Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, Reserve Winners Bitch, Best Puppy, Best Veteran, Best Bred-By Exhibitor. Best of Breed on Saturday am show will be awarded a replica of the Richard Maze Memorial Trophy. Best of Winners will receive a BCA Div. IV Plaque. All other Trophies for Saturday will be a Bulldog of Texas Commemorative item. Sunday Trophies will be awarded for: Best of Breed, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite, Winners Dog, Reserve Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, Reserve Winners Bitch, Best Veteran,Best Puppy,Best Bred-By Exhibitor. The show giving club reserves the right to substitute trophies of equal value Trophies must be picked up at show they will not be mailed.
SWEEPSTAKES Sweepstakes is open to all Bulldogs who are at least 6 months old and under 18 months old. Entries must also be entered in one of the regular classes. No champions of record. Professional handlers may show their own dogs ONLY. Indicate your Sweepstakes class with the appropriate age division in the space for Additional Classes. 40% of the money received for entries will be retained by the club. The balance will be divided as follows: First in class, 20% of class entry; Second in class, 15% of class entry; Third in class, 10% of class entry; Fourth in class, 5% of class entry; Best in Sweepstakes, 5% of Total; Best of Opposite Sex, 5% of total. CLASSIFICATION Regular Classes Dogs and Bitches: Puppy-6 months & under 9 months, 9 months & under 12 months, 12 months & under 18 months, Amateur-Owner-Handler, Bred-by-Exhibitor, American Bred, Open, Winners. Non-Regular Classes involving single entries Veteran Dogs & Veteran Bitches The Veteran class shall be for any dog or bitch (6) years of age or older. Open to champions alike. ATTENTION EXHIBITORS Closing date for these shows will be at noon, Wed, January 24, 2018; after which entries cannot be accepted, cancelled, altered, or substituted. The show site will be available to exhibitors at 6:00 pm on Friday. Space will not be provided for un-entered dogs. A limited number of spaces will be available for recreational vehicles. Exhibitors with RVs should contact Beth Williams for information on parking these vehicles. A Recording Fee of 50 cents and Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. These Fees are to be collected by the show giving Club and paid to the AKC. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Fees are to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC rule, Chapter ll, Section2) There will be no refund for duplicate entries. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs allow in rings during judging only. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the show giving club nor any of its members will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Secretary will add a collection fee to each returned check. Fees for returned checks must be paid in guaranteed funds. Checks will not be accepted. Entry fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by action of the show committee. REFUND OF FEES No entry fees will be refunded if the show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent. The show giving Club, their agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees, signatures or the Agreement on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received prior to close of entries.
NOTICE TO ALL EXHIBITORS Rules Applying to Dog Shows Effective January 1, 2010 CHAPTER 11, SECTION 1 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows No dog shall be exhibited in a licensed or member dog show, except for dogs entered in the Miscellaneous Class unless it is either individually registered in the AKC Stud Book, or individually registered with a foreign registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration. BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR (BBE) CLASS ELIGIBILITY All dogs entered in the Bred-By Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record.
