Perpetual Trophy Rules VSWC Perpetual Trophies are eligible to be won by any member. Being a Member in Good Standing is defined as: 1. Annual dues are current for both the current year and the year the trophy is being offered. 2. During the calendar year you have attended at least two (2) VSWC meetings 3. Worked at the Specialty as a Steward, Ring Setup or Hospitality 4. Worked at a club sponsored Hunt Test or Field trial. 5. Additionally helped organize or setup a Fun Day or a Match for Breed and / or Obedience. A club sponsored match for Breed or Obedience, would provide opportunities to volunteer as event setup, tear down, judging the event, stewarding the event or working event hospitality. 6. Work on a committee or special project for the club via telephone, e-mail or skype. Write at least two (2) Articles for the VSWC Newsletter. 7. Sponsor a trophy at the VSWC Specialty. A member who s dues are current (ref #1), and who has been active in their participation in one of the other club activity items (ref #2-5) will be considered a member in Good Standing. The Perpetual Trophies are the sole property of the Valley of the Sun Weimaraner Club. An inventory of the trophies will be maintained by the Board of Directors to include trophy locations and last recipient. The list of trophies and a definition of each trophy will be available through the VSWC web site. Winners of the trophies may take temporary possession of the trophy after signing the trophy receipt; in the event a Winner does not want temporary possession of the trophy the winner must sign the non-possession form. It will be the responsibility of each trophy winner to make sure the trophy is returned in good condition to the VSWC no later than February 1 st of each year so the necessary engraving can be completed prior to the Annual Awards Banquet. If a trophy is not returned by February 1 st that member, if a winner of another trophy the following year, will not be offered the opportunity to take temporary possession of that trophy. It will be the member s responsibility if unable to deliver the trophy to see that it is shipped via UPS or FedEx to assure the delivery date of February 1 st is met. The shipping costs will be the responsibility of the member. A member failing to return a trophy will be assessed a $100.00 fine. Each member will be responsible for keeping their own accurate records of their dogs/bitches wins, placements, dogs defeated, all AKC show names and dates. Progress Record sheets formatted for each trophy will be available on the VSWC web site to facilitate correct data collection for each Perpetual Trophy. The submitting member will complete this form along with supporting data; WCA Magazine sheets, AKC Awards, or Marked Catalogs from the Superintendents. Collected data will be submitted to VSWC no later than February 1 st, data received after this date will not be accepted. The Points for these Perpetual Trophies will be counted by the VSWC Board of Directors. Points will be tabulated only during the period of the year the owner is a member in good standing. The Board will review the submitted information, any questions or needed additional information will be directed to the submitting member with a timeline to provide or withdraw their submittal. Only AKC Member or Licensed Show or Trial wins will be counted for final point results.
These Perpetual Trophy Rules will upon approval, by the Board of Directors, be posted to the VSWC Web Site for our members use and understanding. Any proposed changes to the Perpetual Trophy Rules recommended by the Board will be announced in the VSWC Newsletter and will provide a thirty (30) day comment period from the membership. Comments received will be discussed by the Board for possible incorporation into the Perpetual Trophy Rules. Changes approved by a majority of the Board of Directors will then be posted on the VSWC Web Site and announced/published in the VSWC Newsletter.

Maturity (classes for Maturity Dogs and Maturity Bitches) Point schedule same as Futurity Points are not cumulative at any level of competition. If you win Best of Breed through the classes you cannot count the points for Winners, Best of Winners or Best of Opposite. You can only count the number of dogs defeated at the highest level, Best of Breed. An exception would be with a Group Placement, the dogs defeated in Group would be combined with the dogs defeated in Breed for total points earned. Dogs completing the following titles within the calendar year shall earn Bonus Title Points as follows: Breed Champion (CH) 10 points Grand Champion (Grd CH) 10 points
Irv Bahde Jr Memorial Obedience Trophy Calculations to Determine Obedience Weimaraner of the Year Obedience will be based on regular classes to include Novice A-B, Open A-B and Utility A-B. Optional Titling or Beginning classes will not be included. When submitting for the Perpetual Trophy a Qualifying score must have been earned. The Point Totals will be determined as follows: 200 8 points 198-199.5 7 points 195-197.5 6 points 190-194.5 5 points 185-189.5 4 points 180-184.5 3 Points 175-179.5 2 points 170-174.5 1 point Class Placement Points 1 st place 4 points 2 nd place 3 points 3 rd place 2 points 4 th place 1 point HIGH IN TRIAL 8 Points HIGH COMBINED 8 Points Dogs completing the following Titles within the calendar year shall earn Bonus Title Points as: CD 2 points CDX 4 points UD 6 points UDX 8 points OTCH 10 points If there are no Obedience Scores submitted, then Rally submittals will be reviewed. Perpetual Agility Trophy Calculation to determine Agility Weimaraner of the Year The points will be determined by Placements and Scores from Standard, Jumpers with Weaves, FaST, Time to Beat, International classes at AKC approved trials. In all cases a Qualifying Score will be required for a Trophy submission. Junior Showmanship Trophy Calculation to determine Junior Handler of the Year Junior Handler must be included as a current Family Member of Valley of the Sun Weimaraner Club. The handler is being evaluated regardless of the breed of dog being handled. Point total will be based on Placements: 1 st place 20 points 2 nd place 15 points 3 rd place 10 points 4 th Place 5 points Shows Entered 3 points/show
Perpetual Hunt Trophy The Perpetual Hunt Trophy will follow the Regulations for AKC Hunt Test for Pointing Breeds. The scores utilized to determine the years Hunt Test winner will be based on the Dogs proficiencies based on the event score card, ref page 46 of the Regulations. Scoring for Hunt Test competition will be: 1. The average score from each score card will be kept for each event entered. Points will not be tabulated if a qualifying score was not received. 2. Placements scoring a. 1 st place 6 points b. 2 nd place 5 points c. 3 rd place 4 points d. 4 th place 3 points e. Qualifying Score 2 points 3. Non Qualifying score cards can be submitted for a value of 1 point. If no dogs have qualifying scores then these entries will be eligible to win the Trophy. A dog with a qualifying score with an average score of 7 and finishing in first place would be: 7 Points + 6 Points= 13 points total, this would be the total points for the event. 4. Dogs earning new titles will receive Bonus Points: a. Junior Hunter 10 points b. Senior Hunter 15 points c. Master Hunter 20 points
Weimaraner Field Trophy of Arizona The Weimaraner Field Trophy of Arizona will follow the Field Trial Rules and Standard Procedure for Pointing Breeds, 2013. Scoring for Amateur Field Trail will be: 1. Placement 1 st 2 nd 3 rd 4-7 Starters 1 point 8-12 Starters 2 points 13-17 Starters 3 points 1 point 18-24 Starters 4 points 2 points 25 or more Starters 5 points 5 points 1 point 2. New Titles earned Amateur Field Champion 15 points Grand Amateur Field Champion 20 points 3. Members entering a Field Test may submit proof of entry and receive one (1) point. These points will not be allowed if you score during the Test. During the calendar year if no one scores in the Trails these entry points will be used to determine the trophy winner.
