Sexes divided. Hunting Retriever Classes, Classes for dogs and bitches that have earned an AKC Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter or Master Hunter Title. Sexes divided. BEST OF BREED COMPETITION Awards of Merit. The Judge may select up to 10% of the superior quality specimen in additon to the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed from the Intersex Competition. Bred-by-Exhibitor Class eligibility: All dogs entered in the Bred-by-Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The Person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record. Amateur-Owner-Handler - For dogs that are at least six months of age that are not champions. Dogs must be handled in the class by the registered owner of the dog and is limited to exhibitors who have not, at any point in time, been a professional dog handler, AKC approved conformation judge, or employed as an assistant to a professional handler (effective January 1, 2009) (Optional class). Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Entries Stud Dog Class: For Stud Dog and two (2) of his get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. Award will be based on the merits of the get. If the Get are not entered in one of the other Classes in this show for which it is eligible the regular entry fee must be paid. Entry fee is $30.00 for Stud Dog Class only, $25.00 as an additional entry. Brood Bitch Class: Same as Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. In accordance with Chapter 11, Section 8 - a castrated male may be entered in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. As a judge's decision in the Stud Dog & Brood Bitch Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligibl for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Beginner Novice A - The Beginner Novice A class shall be for dogs that have not earned the BN title or any other AKC obedience title. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class to earn a BN title. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. No dog may be entered in both Beginner Novice A and Beginner Novice B at any trial. If the owner has titled any dog at any level then the new dog cannot be entered in Beginner Novice A but can be entered in Beginner Novice B. Beginner Novice B - This class is for dogs who have a BN, CD, and/or PCD title; but no additional AKC obedience titles. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class to earn a BN title. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. No dogs may be entered in both Beginner Novice A and Beginner Novice B at any trial. Graduate Novice Class - shall be for dogs that have not earned a Graduate Novice title (GN). the Graduate Novice is an optional class that may be offered by clubs at obedience events. Judges for this class must be approved to judge Novice or higher classes. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. However, if a person has handled more than one dog in the first five exercises, that person must provide a handler for the additional dog in the same Long Down exercise. If eligible as defined in these regulations, dogs entered in Graduate Novice may also be entered in any other obedience classes. judging will be as in the Regular Classes. Graduate Open Class - shall be for dogs that have not earned the Graduate Open title (GO). The Graduate Open class is an optional class that may be offered by clubs at obedience events. Versatility Class - will be for all dogs and is an optional titling class that may be offered by clubs at obedience events. Judges for this class must be approved to judge the Utility class. Owners may enter more than one dog. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person and may be entered in another class of classes. Non-Regular Classes Veterans Obedience Class, The Veterans Class shall be for dogs that have an obedience title and are seven (7) or more years on the date of the trial. Dogs entered in the Veterans class may not be entered in any Regular Class. Move Ups will be permitted in accordance with Obedience Regulations Chapter 1, Section 16. BITCHES IN SEASON. Since bitches in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience and Rally Trials, all but $3.50 of the entry fee for bitches unable to compete for that reason, will be refunded. To be eligible for such refund the Show Superintendent must be notified by letter postmarked February 8, 2018 or earlier, together with a veterinarian's certificate confirming the fact that the bitch is in season. PEE WEE JUNIOR HANDLER SPECIAL ATTRACTION SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2018! Child must be between the ages of five and nine years old.! A dog must be at least four months of age to enter the Pee Wee Class! Bitches in season will not be allowed to participate. if pre-entered, a dog may be substituted that meets the eligibility requirements as specified by the club.! All dogs entered must have the proper lead and collar.! A responsible adult must be present with the child both inside and outside the ring. The adult is to maintain control of the dog outside of the ring.! Only Golden Retrievers are eligible for this event.! The Golden Retriever must be registered to participate.! In addition to an entry, a release must be signed by the child's parent or legal guardian. This release will be available on site and must be signed before going into the ring.! The LIGRC specifies a limit of three children allowed to enter the class.! The entry fee shall be $20.00 for this event.! Entries will be taken the day of the show for this event. See Club Table. The safety of both the dogs and Juniors inside and outside the ring is a primary concern. Outside of the ring, the dog is to be controlled by the adult accompanying the child. An additional lead, provided by the Club, will be at the Judge's table. At the judge's discretion based upon the size of the child and the dog, for safety purposes the adult may be asked to attach a second lead to the dog so both child and adult will walk the dog together. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner/Handler eligible the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward's book and the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the competition by an eligible owner. Professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in this competition. The Owner Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes.! If the Best of Breed winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner Handled Best of Breed.! If the Best of Breed winner is Owner-Handled competition ineligible and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed will compete against the eligible undefeated exhibits of the owner sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed.! In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I( (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is Limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Dog Show Class) Consult the classification in this premium list, if the dog show class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if a dog has been processed, no refund will be made. CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING. DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS NOT REQUIRED for further judging will be excused. JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are respon-sible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. The show-giving club and the Superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. THE SHOW COMMITTEE/SUPERINTENDENT will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident or misfortune to either dogs or exhibitors participating in this show. CANINE COURTESY All dogs shall be kept under control at all times. You are responsible for picking up after the animals in your care. No dogs will be allowed on the show grounds except those entered in the show. Parents must be responsible for children. Children must be kept under supervision at all times. Park at your own risk. In the event of inclement weather the grounds may become soft and vehicles can get stuck. Towing will be at the expense of the vehicles owner. All person attending this dog show hereby waive any claim for damages against Long Island Golden Retriever Club, Inc. or its members, in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. Effective January 1, 2009 - Refund and Cash award checks are void after 180 days and will NOT be re-issued.
