As we have already done on several occasions, it is essential to come back once again to the topical question of Animal Welfare. In view of the new measures adopted by the public authorities, and the increasing pressure of many animal protection associations, and of certain professions, our supervisory Ministry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, expects the Société Centrale Canine (SCC - Central Canine Society) and particularly its various Commissions to bring this particularly sensitive topic to the attention of all dog lovers. At the last Annual General Meeting of the SCC, much time during the President s speech was devoted to the subject of animal welfare, and it must be noted that the recommendations of our supervisory Ministry concern all the various branches of work with dogs: Dog Shows, Breeding and Working Trials. We must therefore be very vigilant in all the activities overseen by the CUNCBG, in the writing of our rules and regulations as well as in all the Events concerning our disciplines. This vigilance must also equally and compulsorily be applied in all the dog clubs which are, as attested by the numerous petitions against them, in the sights of certain associations who defend principles which go against all notions of canine selection, and who have the ear of the media. Please be aware that all the proposals concerning animal welfare made by our Commission are essentially aimed at guaranteeing the continuity of the branches of dog sport which are entrusted to us by the SCC. All working dog handlers should consider themselves to be involved, since nothing can be done without their support. The President of the CUNCBG Daniel Schwartz
