KENNEL SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM Edmonton Humane Society 13620 163 St NW Edmonton, AB T5V 0B2 www.edmontonhumanesociety.com Phone: 780-491-3507 Fax: 780-479-8946 Email: sbatchelor@edmontonhumanesociety.com

Kennel sponsorship began as a way for supporting businesses and individuals to share in the success of the Edmonton Humane Society. This is a recognition program that allows our supporters to have their gifts publicly recognized in a special and unique way. The Kennel Sponsorship program has grown exponentially over the past years as more and more individuals and businesses choose to publicly identify themselves as supporters of the Society. Not only are you helping an animal, but you also assist in offsetting the daily care for the companion pets that reside there throughout the year. All kennel sponsors will be recognized on 7.75 x 3.75 signage (as below area in white) that is customizable for logos, photos and wording. EHS reserves the right to refuse any kennel card application, or to edit for length and content. Kennel Sponsorships may: Promote a business Celebrate a birthday, anniversary, wedding, Christmas or event Commemorate an adoption Memorialize a person Memorialize a pet

Those kennel sponsors that choose to support animals in the adoption areas are highly visible to the visiting public. Others that choose to support animals in holding or hospital areas are not as visible. These animals are being evaluated by our medical and behavior departments to prepare them for adoption. We have frequent tours of holding areas for various members of the public. In addition to the kennel signage within the shelter, all of our kennel sponsors are recognized on our website, in at least one newsletter distribution per year and in our Annual Report. You will also receive a complimentary Edmonton Humane Society Friends for Life Calendar in the fall. By sponsoring a kennel you make an incredible difference in the lives of the animals that temporarily reside at the Edmonton Humane Society. There are several levels of Kennel Sponsorship available: (Annual Rates) Dog Sponsorship Pewter: Dog Holding Kennel - $200** Bronze: Dog Holding Ward OR Dog Hospital Ward - $500** Silver: Indoor / Outdoor Dog Kennel - $750 * Gold: Dog Life Room OR Indoor / Outdoor Dog Ward - $1,000 (2 sponsorships per kennel) Platinum: Dog Life Room with Patio - $1,500 (2 sponsorships per kennel) Cat Sponsorship Pewter: Cat Holding Kennel - $100** Bronze: Cat Holding Ward - $300** Silver: Adoption Cat Kennel - $500 Gold: Cat Life Room OR Cat Condo - $1,000 (2 sponsorships per kennel) Platinum: Cat Chalet - $2,500 (2 sponsorships per kennel) ** Area is not visible to visiting public, however will be seen on tours * Area may or may not be visible to visiting public, depending on whether the animals housed are available for adoption or not. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The revenue generated from the Kennel Sponsorship Program is used to support the vital programs and services of the Society. These include: Shelter Program for approximately 13,000 animals each year Adoption Program for animals of all ages and breeds, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, rodents, reptiles, and others. As many as 200 animals are available for adoption on any given day. Special adoption events are held throughout the year. Admitting Program for owners who are no longer able or willing to care for their pets. The EHS is an open admission shelter and accepts every cat, dog, rabbit, bird, guinea pig, or other small pet that is brought to its doors, regardless of age, temperament, or health condition. Animal Transfer Program admits animals from the City of Edmonton Animal Care and Control Centre (City Pound), outlying bylaw facilities and other animal organizations. Holding Facility and Support Program for county bylaw departments to give owners of lost animals the opportunity to locate their pets. Animals are shown on our website for several days, and, if not claimed and are suitable for adoption, they are spayed or neutered and transferred into our Adoption Program. Animal Protection Program through the EHS Animal Protection Community Peace Officers investigates complaints of animal abuse and neglect and enforces the Animal Protection Act of Alberta. Veterinary Medical Program provides veterinary examinations, medical care and surgical procedures for animals admitted to the shelter. Spay & Neuter Program sterilizes all shelter dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, ferrets, and rabbits prior to becoming available for adoption. Foster Care Program provides extended care for underage, sick, or injured animals, as well as for animals with temperament problems that may respond to behavior modification. Behavior Program assesses all dogs in the shelter. Based on a validated approach developed by leading scientists specializing in companion animal welfare and behavior, temperament assessing involves observing an animal s reactions to circumstances it may encounter in a typical day. Test results are used to determine the best option for the dog. Behavior Modification Programs rehabilitate animals with manageable behavior issues. Animal Enrichment Programs help reduce boredom, decrease stress levels, and enrich the lives of animals during their stay at the shelter. Humane Education Programs through school and community group presentations and media promotions; used to promote responsible pet ownership, spaying and neutering, and animal welfare topics.

Volunteer Programs support all departments, including animal care and enrichment, administration, and fundraising. Community Resource Centre provide information to the public by phone, in person, or on our website on topics such as spaying and neutering, animal care, animal abuse, and others. Edmonton Humane Society Services* Camp Sit. Stay. Play! (summer day camps for children) is a place where kids connect with animals. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for children to interact and learn about the animals that share our world. An enthusiastic staff of instructors and friendly animals give children an enriching experience filled with hands-on animal encounters, fun activities, and crafts. As they have fun, campers learn respect, compassion, and how to provide a lifetime of care for animals. Birthday parties for children who want to celebrate their birthday with the animals can be booked at the shelter. With two party packages to choose from, kids will enjoy fun games, crafts, and animal interactions in a privately reserved room. Party schedules book up very quickly, so please call or email well in advance of your child's birthday for availability. Behavior & Training Support for pet owners through our Training Academy and a Behavior Hotline that can be accessed online. The EHS Training Academy is housed in our Canine Enrichment Centre and offers dog training classes as well as demonstrations, workshops, seminars and clinics on a variety of animal behavior topics. Katrina and Friends Dog Daycare service through the EHS Canine Enrichment Centre offers a safe and well balanced environment for owned dogs that includes healthy play, exercise, and the ability for dogs to learn proper etiquette within a dog pack. Central Bark Off-leash Club is a membership only off-leash dog park located on the beautiful grounds at the Chappelle Centre for Animal Care. For an annual membership fee, Central Bark provides a safe and fun play environment for dogs and their people in three securely fenced and gated acres of land. Day passes for the park are also available. Membership requires filling out an application form (available online and at the shelter). Muddy Paws Self-Serve Wash and Groom is a coin operated dog wash available for public use. Muddy Paws conveniently dispenses shampoo, conditioner and flea & tick treatment. Towels and a grooming table are provided as well. Bingo s Pet Shop located in the Adoption Gallery at the EHS offers a wide variety of pet supplies for companion animal owners and unique items for animal lovers and EHS supporters. Humane Euthanasia and Cremation of owned pets at the owners request. The EHS understands that it is never easy for families to say goodbye to their forever

friends. Our goal is to provide dignified, caring service for beloved animal companions. Private service is available. Facility rentals for many of the areas in the beautiful new EHS facility - Canine Enrichment Centre, Education Rooms, Boardroom, etc. Rental rates vary depending on times and areas. Prevent Another Litter Subsidy (PALS) Program provides financial assistance for families that do not have the means to have their pets spayed or neutered. *All revenue generated from fee for services provided to the public go directly into shelter operations.
