The Northeastern Poultry Congress is seeing to it that this will be a most interesting show. We have lined up an informative lecture series. The top of the list is the most popular Ask the Experts with Don Schrider. This informal discussion panel packed with experts just waiting answer your most detailed poultry questions. Dan Honor Honour of Millerton NY will be doing a discussion on Buff color. Dan is a life long Buff expert. He loves to talk about this most elusive color. Dan s lecture will help to make your buffs spot on! Poulin Grain will be talking about poultry nutrition. Learn from Poulin's chief nutritionist about to translate feed into fabulously healthy chickens. Joel Henning expert breeder of Polish will be doing a talk on Crested Breeds. Absolutely anyone who is into Crested birds should make tracks to attend this lecture. I am certain you will learn some great tips from Joel. Dr Joan Smyth of UCONN will be doing an anatomy lesson for us. We have all had the sad experience of wondering what killed that chicken. Dr Smyth will help by showing us what organs are what inside a predeceased bird. Yes this is a hands on wet lab! Attendees will be broken down into groups and shown how to properly post a dead chicken. Then Dr Smyth will visit with each group and point out just what s happening in there. This is a unique and wonderful opportunity to learn poultry from the inside out. I guess the squeamish among us may opt to skip this lab! Also for you we have the incredibly talented Joseph Marquette of Yellow House Farms. Joe is a most energetic speaker who will be talking on Rare Breeds. If your interested in preservation put this on your must attend list. Our lecture series will culminate with the American Bantam Association s General Meeting. This is where members and interested people learn what s new with the Nation s premiere poultry organization. The meeting will be presented by the Clubs president Jeff Halbach. Also on hand will be the Clubs Vice President Matt Lhamon. Admission is free all are welcome For lecture titles, times and speaker bios please see www.poultrycongress.com

Visitors and New folks Please Note: Howard Kogan of Falling Tree Farm will be conducting two show hall tours on Saturday. This is a perfect opportunity for new people and visiting people to learn about show chickens. Howard will guide participants about the spacious hall and explain the fine points. Howard is an expert in the Nankin Bantam so it will also be fun for you to pick his brain on this rare and beautiful breed. Oh did I mention that admission to the building is free, as are the lectures, and tours. Some exhibitor s wives and partners are just not that into chickens. For those folks there will be an organized local shopping trip! So you can shop till you drop and be back at the hotel in time for the Sunset Social. Your shopping expert is Lynn Crevoiserat.
