The Genetic Connection sale again will be held at the Cullman Stockyards in Cullman, Alabama. Cullman Stockyards is owned and operated by Hogie and Keith Parish. This sale facility is known for its comfortable setting with an air condition sale arena, cattle under roof displayed in big clean pens plus in a near spotless clean facility. The sale site is easy to get to being just off I-65. I would encourage you to go to their website at www.cullmanstockyards.com. The Genetic Connection has been under the direction of Randy Moody with other great breeders from Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi. All the Genetic Connection group has pretty much the same philosophy on Simmental genetics, produce cattle with eye appeal, body, rib and capacity that will be efficient as possible, have above average EPDs backed by strong and predictable cow families. As sale manager I can safely say there is a strong set of Simmental and genetics in this sale. Last years sale was a big success with cattle selling to Alabama and twelve other states. Many cattle have done well for the breeders that have purchased out of the last three years of sales. Review the consignor list, many of these breeders have been around a few years being instrumental Simmental breeders in the Southeast. As you review the catalog, study the young group of genetics offered here in the Genetic Connection. This year the offering will include bulls that ready to turn out and go to work. Also, don t forget the a great set of commercial females coming from a couple of highly respected commercial breeders. Whether you are a purebred breeder, commercial cattle producer, or just wanting some excellent replacement females it will pay you to be at the Genetic Connection. We are pleased to assist the breeders involved in the Genetic Connection as they show case their programs. Please make plans to be with the consignors on sale day and join in the Simmental fun. If you have any questions prior to the sale please contact myself, Drew Hatmaker, or Randy Moody. We will be glad to assist you in anyway. Also I strongly encourage you to contact any of the consignors, they know their product. This year the sale will have online bidding thru DV Auctions. Also, trucking is available to go anywhere.take the time to review pedigrees and pictures in the catalog you will find something to fit your program. See you at the sale. On behalf of Little Mountain Farm and all of our sale consignors I want to welcome you to the Genetic Connection Sale 2014. Everyone is excited about the cattle industry these days and the strong demand we are seeing for Simmental Genetics. Whether it is a breeder looking for a Simmental bull or someone looking to add some Simmental influence to their cow herd the demand for Simmental has never been greater. We will be offering proven genetics that include donors, bred heifers, open heifers including some very nice show prospects, embryos and this year we will be offering several breeding age bulls ready to go to work this fall. We hope to see you August 2nd in Cullman Alabama for the Genetic Connection Sale. Please call me if there is anything that I can assist you with. DP Sales Management Genetic Connection Consignors... Star s Classic is truly a brood cow and is impressive as you can make a first calf heifer. If you keep up with cow families like we do at LMF, you can see many of the strong attributes of her dam, SVF Sheza Star. Sheza Star has produced countless bulls and females that have gone on to be superior producers. The family just continues to flourish generation after generation. Z201 is wide based with loads of internal dimension. This is sired by BC Classic and has all the eye appeal and look needed to produce those fancy females and has the functionality and power to stamp out those high performing bulls. Z201 and her calf B62 are both homozygous polled and homozygous black and good EPDs across the board. Star s Classic best testimonial is her heifer calf at side by GW Robust. She is a load. B62 is the top 4% for REA, top 10% for YW and TI, top 15% for MB and MWW, top 25% for API and MM. Both individuals have strong genetic merit with future earning power and years of production ahead. Don t overlook the maternal aspect of this donor. Sheza Classic half sister, Sheza Star S804A was a highlight in the 2011 sale when half interest sold for $6,100 to Sanders Ranch and four daughters sold $6,250, $5,700, $3,800 and $2,600. In the 2012 sale an S804A daughter sold for $7,000 to Cheswood Daysprings and others at $5,600 and $4,000. In the 2013 sale daughter sold for $6,200 to Steve Lee in Daviston, AI and $4,200 to Claude Nicholson in Elba, Alabama. We are a small operation however we are committed to offering our best and genetics that we stand behind and believe can help the ever growing Simmental Industry. Sheza Classic has been flushed only once successfully and sells open ready to flush. Call for more details. 1A CE: 13 BW: 0.4 WW: 69 YW: 116 MCE: 7 Milk: 27 MWW: 62 Marb: 0.59 REA: 0.93 API: 142

Even before that people had learned of the impact she was having in within the Simmental breed. Whether it is bulls or heifers she continues to produce top calves year after year. This year we are offering three embryos sired by CCR Wide Range, the high seller at Cow Camp s bull sale this spring. This mating sure could be an exceptional mating. Last year when her pen came in the ring and I bought the entire pen, some people were asking what I had in mind. Now, a year later this bred heifer tells everyone what I knew about their cattle. If this heifers dam is good enough to work for Tim and Stephen then this heifer can work anywhere. 223Z is bred to upgrade. Sound from head to toe is what best describes this heifer. Z297 is an Angus heifer that we should be keeping to make those calves that we strive to produce. She is a moderate heifer with the depth of body very few animals have. To say she is a tank is an understatement. Just evaluate her EPD profile. Look at the calving ease then look at her marbling as well as her API, and you will understand the value of this heifer.
