FRIDAY 3 rd NOVEMBER 2017 - MILITARY APPRENTICE CLASS (Class A) OPEN TO ARMY APPRENTICE FARRIERS Apprentice Military Farriers will make the following: Junior Apprentices: One front and one hind shoe from concave steel Senior Apprentices: Two shoes, one from flat steel (3/4 fullered) and one from concave steel The steel will be provided and both shoes are to be made in a coke fire. Time Allowed: 50 Minutes (No Striker Allowed) Entry Fee: N/A FRIDAY 3 rd NOVEMBER 2017 - MILITARY ROADSTER CLASS (Class B) OPEN TO REGISTERED MILITARY FARRIERS AND EX-MILITARY FARRIERS LIMITED TO 24 ENTRANTS. Make, fit and nail on to the allocated foot a 3/4 fullered fore shoe using flat bar steel. Foot dressing and fit will be marked according to the individual horses requirements. Time Allowed: 55 Minutes (No Striker Allowed) Entry Fee: 25 SATURDAY 4 th NOVEMBER 2017 - OPEN HUNTER CLASS (Class C) INDIVIDUAL OPEN COMPETITION FOR REGISTERED FARRIERS MILITARY AND CIVILIAN. LIMITED TO 24 PLACES. Each competitor will Make, fit and nail on to an allocated foot a tool and fullered hunter fore or hind shoe with a specimen. Time allowed: 1 hour 15 Minutes (Striker allowed) Entry Fee: 25.00
SUNDAY 5 th NOVEMBER 2017 - OPEN THERAPEUTIC CLASS (Class D) OPEN COMPETITION FOR REGISTERED FARRIERS, MILITARY AND CIVILIAN. LIMITED TO 24 PLACES. Make, fit and nail on a straight bar shoe to the allocated foot using steel provided. Foot dressing and fit will be marked in accordance to the individual feet (horse) requirements. Horses will be trotted up for competitors with the judge present prior to the class starting. Time Allowed: 60 Minutes. (Striker Allowed) Entry Fee: 25.00

Rules General rules All competitors must be registered with the Worshipful Company of Farriers or a Certified Euro Farrier. You are guests on an MOD / Military base Competitors and guests can be asked to leave the base at any time Specimen shoes and shoes on the foot must be to the judge s specifications. The Judge has the final say on all matters in relation to the competition. Any issues, complaints or comments should be submitted in writing after the competition. Horses will be trotted up in front of a Vet before and after classes The time keeper is the only person that can start/stop time. Any person found working after the time keeper, calls Time, will be disqualified (DQ). Strikers and tools Competitors / pairs are allowed ONE free standing vice per an Anvil. Only one competitor on an anvil at any one time (1st a warning to the pair on the anvil, followed by 2 nd DQ of point for that pair competing). Insurance It is require that all competitors must have PRIVATE insurance for competing. This is to cover them for injuries, loss of earnings and loss of training (apprentices). Entry into the competition is an acknowledgement/ agreement to these rules
