SHOW REGULATIONS 1. The Show will be held under licence and Rules of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd as in force on the 15 th July 2017. 2. Venue ; The Show will be held at the Allen Park Sports Complex, Newtownforbes, Co Longford on Saturday July 15 th 2017. Judging starts at 10.30 am, junior handling at 10am. Show grounds open to exhibitors from 8am, NOT before and close at 6pm. There will be no overnight camping facilities at the grounds. 3. Entry Fee ; 1 st dog 22 / 22 IKC Levy 1.00 Additional dogs by same owner 8/ 8 Baby Puppy Puppy stakes, 8 / 8 extra, Veteran stakes, Brace stakes 8 / 8 extra, Champion stakes Junior Handling Dogs Not for Competition 5/ 5 5/ 5 (First entry or additional dog) 8 / 8 extra Veterans need not enter in breed class 8 / 8 extra, Champions need not enter in breed class 5 / 5, free if entered in breed class Car Park 5 / 5 on show day or Prepaid 4 / 4 Catalogue 5 / 5Prepaid only (any catalogues not collect by 12pm will be sold) Fees of exhibits arriving late or failing to arrive will be forfeited. No entry will be accepted without the correct entry fee which cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Exhibitors will be expected to pay the appropriate bank fees for any cheque returned by their bank for any reason. Entries must be on the form issued for the purpose, no entries will be taken over the phone. Entries will be accepted up to 9 th June 2017 (postmark) by the Secretary ; Mr. M. Skeffington, Sessue Common, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo, Ireland. 071 9185586 (6-9pm Only). The committee reserves the right to reject any entry, advertisement or other insertion in the cata logue, or allocation of stand space at the show. All dogs entered for competition or otherwise must be registered or transferred at the IKC Ltd. Enter online at www.dogshowentry.ie Online entry closes at midnight on the 16 th June 2017 4. Ineligible Entries ; A transfer of an incorrect entry as to sex or breed may be allowed by the Secretary prior to the commencement of judging and a dog entered in an age class for which it is not eligible may be transferred to the next appropriate age class, but in no other respects. 5. Each exhibitor shall be responsible for keeping their exhibit under control at all times. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times anywhere on the show grounds. All exhibitors are required to bring a scooper & plastic bag etc to remove any fouling made by their dogs and any other litter on any part of the show grounds as they are liable to a fine of 25 for failure to do so. Exhibitors will not be allowed to wear a badge or other decoration in the Breed judging ring, save for the ring number of the exhibit which must be displayed clearly by the exhibitor. No person will be allowed in the judging rings save the Judge, Show Official and Exhibitors taking in a dog for adjudication. During the exhibition of Dogs at the Show the officiating Judge will not allow under any circumstances any form of distraction by ringsiders and will disqualify any exhibit which is being assisted in its performance by 1

any person other than the handler. 6. JUDGING; Breed judging will commence at 10.30 am, junior handling at 10am. In the event of the appointed judge failing to keep his/her appointment the Promoting Body shall have the right to appoint another Judge or Judges in his/her place, and the Promoting Body further reserves the right to change the Judge in any breed when it is found necessary. The Promoting Body shall not be responsible for the exhibition of any exhibit in the ring at the time of judging. 7. CATLOGUES ; The Promoting Body shall not be responsible for any loss, direct or indirect, occasioned by any mistake or omission in the catalogue. In any such case the exhibitor should immediately inform the ring steward if judging is taking place, otherwise the exhibitor should immediately report the Catalogue inaccuracy at the Secretary s Office. 8. Notice ; All announcements appearing in the Dog Columns of the National Press newspaper prior to the closing of entries and in reference to alterations made by the Promoting Body in the schedule or in these regulations shall be deemed sufficient notice thereof. 9. Interpretation ; The Committee of the Promoting club shall be the Show Committee within the meaning of the IKC Rules and all disputes, if any, shall be dealt with by the Committee. Parties to any dispute shall have the right to appeal to the IKC Ltd. Any protests or objections must be made in the manner specified in the IKC Ltd rules 13,15,17. 10. Accident or Damage ; The Promoting Body will not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained by exhibits, exhibitors, or other persons attending the show through accident or otherwise. 11. PRIZES ; prize cards will be given to 1 st to 4 th in each class. Rosettes will be given to Green Star and Best of Breed winners, 1 st to 4 th in each Group, Junior Handling and Stakes class winners. Prize money ; BIS 40, RBIS 25, remaining group winners 10, Puppy Stakes ; 1 st 20, 2 nd 15, 3 rd 10, 4 th 5, Winner of Brace and Veteran Stakes 10 each. Winner of Champion Stakes 20. 12. TRADE STANDS ; sales of any articles will only be permitted to take place from a duly licensed stand. Anyone wishing to avail of Stand Space should apply in writing to the Show Secretary no later than July 1 st 2017 enclosing the following ; Copy of current insurance Certificate to cover South of Ireland (Public Liability), Name of Business, Fee 40 / 40. All trade stands MUST be set up in allocated space by 9 AM on the morning of the show. 13. Exercise/Puppy Pens: are prohibited within the confines of the exhibition area, at all shows licensed by the Irish Kennel Club with effect from the 1st January 2009. 14. Dogs not entered for competition: Dogs which are not being exhibited at all Breed Championship Shows must be entered as NOT FOR COMPETITION, for insurance purposes, prior to close of entries. Dogs to be entered on a form supplied by the show promoting society giving details of breed/s and name/s of each dog. The show promoting society shall issue a pass or passes to such dogs and keep a Sligo and District Canine Club Prize Money: Best in Show... 40.00 Reserve Best in Show... 25.00 Remaining Group Winners... 10.00 Puppy Stakes 1 st. 20, 2 nd 15, 3 rd 10, 4 th 5. Winner Champion Stakes: 20 Winner Veteran Stakes: 10 Winner Brace Stakes: 10. 2

record of same. Production of passes may be requested in any area of dispute. The fee for this facility shall be Five Euro, ( 5.00), per dog. 15. Puppies under the age of six (6) months should not be present on the show grounds unless being exhibited where a Baby Puppy class is scheduled. RULES FOR GROUP JUDGING AND BEST IN SHOW 1. The Promoting Body will not accept any responsibility nor be under any obligation to see that dogs eligible to compete are exhibited in their particular Groups, or for Best in Show, other than announcing in the ring that judging is about to take place. The Promoting Body will not accept any responsibility in the case of an exhibit that is excluded from competing in a Group, owing to the judging of its breed not having been completed, or for any other reason. 2. Competition in Group Classes will be confined to undefeated winners in their breed. 3. No dog shall be entitled to compete in a Group where any prize or award has been withheld from it in its breed at the show. 4. A fee will not be payable for entry in any of the Groups nor for Best in Show. 5. Groups will be divided into ten sections - as defined in the Irish Kennel Club Rules & Regulations. 6. Upon entering the Group Ring Competitors must produce their correct ring number. 7. In each Group and Best in Show the judges shall make the following awards: viz, 1st, 2nd, 3 rd etc. to 4 th place, absentees MUST be marked. 8. Competition for Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show is confined to the winners of the ten groups. 9. If your Group Judging has not commenced before 4:30 p.m. a Best of Breed winner may leave the show but must notify the Show Secretary in writing that the exhibit will not be present for the Group judging. Otherwise all exhibits qualified for the Group must be exhibited therein. An exhibit failing to report for the Group will incur a fine of 50 and be disqualified from all wins on the day unless a valid reason is lodged with the Show Secretary before judging commences. STAKES CLASSES The Stakes Classes scheduled at this Show are separate from the Breed Judging and do not come under the rules of the Green Star System, e.g. An exhibit which has been beaten in a Stakes Class but wins Best of Breed may proceed to compete in its relevant Group. All exhibits who wish to enter Stakes Classes must be entered in their relevant Breed Classes with the exception of Champions/Veterans who may enter the Stakes Class only. A separate judge other than the Best in Show or Group judge must be used for stakes classes (Best in Show qualified) (effective from the 1 st January 2011) Breeds Not Separately Listed Breeds entered in the Breeds Not Separately Listed at National Championship Shows will be entered into their appropriate breed class and the breed listed in the Catalogue. A Judge may award a Green Star and Best of Breed in each breed to any dog unbeaten and eligible, if in his/her opinion they are of sufficient quality and graded excellent or in the case of puppies Very Promising Effective from 1 st January 2011. Cropped Dogs Cropped dogs are not permitted to be exhibited at any Irish Kennel Club licenced event. VENUE 3 Miles on the Sligo side of Longford town. Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes West from Cloghran, and 1hour East from Sligo. NB. New Toll Road from Dublin to Mullingar PLEASE NOTE There will be NO overnight camping at the venue. 3

Introducing our Judges A Céad Míle Fáilte to our overseas Judges Mr Rui Alves Monteiro (Portugal) ; Rui s history with dogs actually began with a boxer, followed by a Belgian Shepherd Terveuren. He is best known for both Laekenois and Shetland Sheepdogs and, with his family, Rui has bred champions in many countries, Euro and World winners, Crufts BOB, and these champions can be found as far afield as Canada, Brazil and South Africa as well as Europe. Rui has judged in many European countries, Australia, Mexico, and will judge the breeds he is passed for at Sligo. Ms Anita Markus (Hungary) Anita got her first English cocker from her parents in 1983 and has loved the breed ever since. Her life now revolves around showing, judging, grooming dogs. She is the President of the Hungarian Spaniel Breeders Assoc and has judged in Scandinavia and some European countries. Anita judges all of Group 8 and small Terriers andthis is her first visit to Ireland Ms Monika Halmi (Hungary/Norway) ; Monika got her first poodle at age 13, and has been involved with them ever since - she has bred some black and brown medium litters, and some black miniature and toy litters - some became junior and adult champions titles, as well as Int Ch, and they live as far away as USA. Currently Monika judges all groups 9 and 4 and some breeds in group 8. Mrs Denys Janssen, (Colombia) ; Denys was born in India, raised in Guyana, lived in Jamaica, and has lived in Colombia since 1979!! While her parents has English Cockers Denys bought her first Great Dane in 1977, and added Pointers in 1988. Denys is involved with many shows and canine associations in Colombia, and is licensed by the FCI to judge All Breeds. Mr Harry Tast ; (Finland). Harry needs no introduction to the dog world as he is one of Finlands best known and qualified judges. He has owned and bred Smooth and Wire Fox Terriers and has been approved to judge all breeds for many years. Ms Lorena Lotzniker (Italy). Lorena owns Westies and is approved to judge groups 3 and 4. She is involved at committee level in a number of clubs and this is her first visit to Ireland. Mrs C A Sykes (GB) is joining us from Scotland - She has many years experience with her own breed and has awarded Ccs on a number of occasions We welcome our IRISH judges who are all progressing in some breeds/groups Mrs Jean Lawless ; BSD and Schipperkes, judges BIS, groups 1,2,3,5,6 Ms Fionnuala Malone ; Glenfitor kerry Blues ; judges BIS groups 3, 9, and some 2 Mrs Heather Timmins ; Italian Spinone ; judges BIS, groups 2, 7, 8 some 6Mr Paul Hanna ; Schnauzers, judges all group 2 Mrs Janine Dooner ; Jappatin ; Rottweilers and terriers, judges breeds in group 2 Mr Seamus Dunne ; Dachshunds and Boston Terriers, judges all groups 4,5,6,10, progressing in group 9 Mrs Amanda Sammon ;Japanese Shiba Inu and Nor Elkhounds, judges all group 5 and is progressing in group6 Mr Ian Finney - Dachshunds and Irish Wolfhounds ;progressing in group 10 A special welcome to ; Mrs Rosemary Coulter ; awarding green stars in Poodles for the first time. Mr Phillip O Brien ; judges all 3,4,6,10 and is judging his first Best in Show Mrs Madelene Rainey ; judges all 7 & 8 and is judging all our stakes classes. We would like to welcome The Native Scottish Breeds show and Cairn Terrier Club show being held on the same day extra Green Stars on the day 4

CLASS DEFINITIONS (The word 'Dog' includes both sexes) Baby Puppy Class is confined to puppies of four months of age and under six months of age on the first day of the show. Baby Puppies are confined to this class and may not compete for any other award other than Best Baby Puppy in Show A Puppy Class is confined to dogs over six and under twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. A Junior Class is for dogs between 9 and 18 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. An Intermediate Class is for dogs between 15 and 24 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show, An Adult Class is for dogs between 24 and 36 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show, An Open Class is for dogs over 15 months of age on the first day of the Show,. A Champions Class is for dogs who have gained the Title of Champion under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under a recognised Kennel Authority confirmed by the date of closing of entries.**** A Veteran Class is for dogs over eight years of age on the first day of the Show, FIELD TRIAL CLASS is confined to dogs that have won at least a reserve in a Novice, Puppy, Derby or Open Stake. Please Note: A Veteran Dog who is a Champion may enter in either Veteran or Champion Class but not both.** N.B.: A Dog or Bitch may be entered in ONE BREED CLASS ONLY (No double entries) BRACE CLASS is for two exhibits of the same or different sexes of the same breed belonging to the same person, each exhibit having been entered in some class other than Brace or Team. NOTE: Dogs under the age of six months are not allowed into the show grounds. All dogs entered must be registered or transferred at the Irish Kennel Club in the name of the Exhibitor. RULE 7 REGISTRATION Every dog exhibiting or competing at any Show, Field Trial or obedience Test, must be registered with the Irish Kennel Club or other FCI kennel Club in the name of the exhibitor or competitor, save in the case of Greyhounds duly registered with the Irish Coursing Club and dog not of a recognised breed for which licences have been approved for Obedience, Agility or Working Tests. Failure to comply with the above will result in (a) the dog being disqualified from the event and (b) the exhibitor being fined 127 the implementation of which shall be a normal office routine. All appeals to the Irish Kennel Club should carry a fee of 6, refundable if the appeal is upheld. 5
