Who Am I? Name the Colony Answer Key 1. In 1606 people from Great Britain landed on my shores. They formed a colony at Jamestown where Captain John Smith met Pocahontas. I was the first colony to have 20 African slaves in 1619. I was a southern corporate colony and was the tenth state to ratify the Constitution. My state recommended the Bill of Rights be added to the Constitution. Who am I? Virginia 2. In 1620 the Mayflower Compact was signed and Englishmen landed on my shores. I was a northern corporate colony. In 1788 I was the six state to ratify the Constitution. Who am I? Massachusetts 3. The Dutch West Indies Company helped settle my colony in 1614.
