SOUTH WEST DOBERMANN CLUB Breed Championship Show Saturday 26 th November, 2016 My very grateful thanks to the committee of the South West Dobermann Club for their kind invitation to judge bitches at their 30 th Championship Show. The hospitality couldn t have been better, secretary Yvonne Bevans should be well proud of procedures. Grateful thanks also to Martin Thompson and Jane Lewis for their very efficient stewarding. Lovely entry of 52 top quality bitches (10 absent), notably in Limit and Open. Presentation throughout was excellent, temperament exemplary, only heard one grumble, and that wasn t aggressive. I also really appreciated the good sportsmanship, it boosts your confidence when you hear appreciation after every class. It was satisfying to be told afterwards that my Veteran winner, who went BVIS, was the mother of the RCC & RBIS bitch who in turn was the dam of my Best Puppy, litter sister to the BPIS. BITCHES: V (4) 1 Mycroft s Supeta s Witchqueen JW ShCM, docked homebred b/r of nearly 11 years who far belies her age. No sign of coarseness, still retains total femininity and proudness to exhibit her cleanly balanced head, lovely dark eye, very alert expression, good flat skull, good ears, stop and muzzle, strong well muscled neck into well set shoulder, good depth of chest, excellent legs and feet, very good topline, strong loin, good rear, strongly muscled thighs, good hock, moved true and sound. Endearing temperament, a lady with style. BV & BVIS; 2 Piper s Swnydwr Supa Troopa, co-bred from champion parents, at eight at her best, lovely clean balanced head to handle, totally feminine, lovely eye, intelligent expression, good neck into good shoulder, good front, good topline, excellent legs and feet, really sound and positive on the move, stylish, lovely temperament; 3 Webb s Lateagain Sassperella Star at Shlissa ShCM. MP (5,2a) 1 King s Livonija Baronese Dita Von Teese, very sweet babe of six and a half months, bred from foreign champions, doesn t say if she s an import but could prove a very good acquisition.

Took time to settle though no temperament problems, pleasing head to go over, clean, balanced, super ears, lovely dark eye, feminine expression, good overall construction, good shoulder, in good body, well developed thigh muscles for age, sound, untroubled on move; 2 Hopkinson s Otago Pure Serenity, homebred, day older than 1, not a lot of catching up to do, pleasing head, good dark eye and expression, nice outline, very good feet, moves well, needs to tighten up at rear. Good temperament; 3 Tant s Granadeya Aosta. P (3) 1 Cattermole s Supeta s Phoenix for Kalvadene, b/t, at nine months, has it all before her. Born showgirl, stands her ground, looks good from all angles. Very pleasing head to handle, clean, balanced, good skull, very good ears, lovely dark eye, excellent alert, intelligent expression, good stop, muzzle, good jaw, very good neck and shoulder, good depth of chest and spring of rib, well boned straight forelegs, strong pasterns and feet, good hindquarters, well developed thigh muscles, most impressive on the move, good drive from rear, good side extension, sound, lovely temperament. BPB & RBPIS, bending the knee to her brother. A daughter of RCC winner and granddaughter of BV. Some breeding! 2 Groves Lateagain Gold Dust, homebred, ten months, plenty of scope, another very feminine girl of good overall make and shape, very good dark eye, lovely feminine expression, good shoulder and front, level topline held on move, good hindquarters, strong hocks and feet enabling good drive from rear, good side extension, very sound, lovely temperament; 3 Robinson e Aritaur Nevada to Dorthonion. J (5,3) 1 Ingrams Jojavik Domino Derval, homebred from champion parents so on paper, has it made. In reality has the make, shape, ring presence and movement to join her parents in the upper house. Needs a year or so on her back though. At 14 months, very typical, super fit, strong bones and plenty of muscle where it should be, lovely clean head to handle, balanced, good skull, ears, stop and muzzle, lovely dark eye, intelligent but mischievous expression, totally alert, in good body, chest and spring of rib, good shoulder, excellent forelegs, pastern and feet, well made rear, very sound on move, needs to drop into herself but that will come, impressive on move, lovely temperament; 2 Smith & Jones Korifey Devotion, bred by latter from champion parents, another with a future, sympathetically handled to get the best out of this girl, three days younger than 1, so full of herself, temperament to treasure. Impressed by head qualities, balanced, well

set ears, lovely dark eye, feminine expression, good neck, well conditioned throughout, sound mover, very good temperament. Y (6,2) 1 Lainchbury s Ashlain Trypiti JW, homebred just out of junior, well developed girl always making best of herself, appealing head, balanced, good skull and ear set, super dark eye, feminine expression, good muzzle, muscled neck into good shoulder, very good forelegs, well boned, straight, strong pastern and feet, good chest and spring of rib, strong in loin, good topline held on move, excellent mover, good drive from rear, excellent temperament, sound; 2 Reid s Dobshangrila Rebellion JW, attentive girl, week younger than 1 but same good development, balanced head, good skull and ear set, lovely dark eye, feminine expression, strong neck into good shoulder, well handled to get best movement, sound, good drive and extension. Lovely temperament; 3 Wall & Bolton s Remescas Gone Platinum at Dabells. N (6,2) 1 Sharp s Martifers Night Fever, only new one in class, Serbian import from champion parents, well disciplined girl of 19 months, always standing her ground, good outline, balanced head, good skull, stop and muzzle, good dark eye, feminine, almost enquiring expression, good front, strong straight forelegs, in good body, sound on the move, lovely temperament; 2 Smith & Jones Korifey Devotion; 3 Groves Lateagain Gold Dust. G (3) 1 Piper s Swnydwr s Dancing Queen, co-breeder of this most impressive girl just turned two, always making best of herself, beautiful outline, sets herself up to show proud head carriage, very good skull, ears well set, lovely dark eye and feminine expression, good neck into well angulated shoulder, good depth of chest and spring of rib, strong in loin, good hindquarters enabling good drive and side extension, very sound, lovely temperament; 2 Brough s Remesca Rouge Noir to Aniiraz JW, bred from champion parents, very feminine brown/rust who could be naughty on the move but nice! Pleasing head, eye and expression, good depth of chest and spring of rib, good stifle and feet, sound, nice temperament; 3 Wall & Bolton s Remescas Gone Platinum at Dabells. PG (6) 1 Nicoll-Jones, Bennet & Mycroft s Supetas In Yer Dreams with Kyricia, bred by latter owner from champion parents, impressed for lovely construction and outline, born showgirl, proud head carriage on strong neck, head so clean and balanced to handle, medium brown eye emitting very feminine, intelligent expression, good forequarters, angulated shoulder, strong forelegs, good spring of rib,

strong loin, well muscled thighs, strength in movement, sound, appealing temperament; 2 Sanderson s Jaktay Cardinal Sins at Jodaseen JW ShCM, bred from champion parents, full of appeal, very good outline, good topline held on move, balanced head, very good ears, skull, inquisitive expression, strong neck, in good body, moves with authority, sound, good temperament; 3 Wall s Amazon Infiniti to Jarjarjinx. L (11,1) This was a pleasing class to judge but differing types. However, quality throughout. 1 Wilkes Gylemuir Midnight Magic for Lynfryds, have judged this four year old before when awarding her BB at a club show, so aware she has 2CCs and a string of RCCs. Would have loved to have made her up but in depth quality in Open was outstanding. Turned out in fabulous condition, stands her ground, most pleasing head, clean, balanced, flat skull, well set ears, good stop, strong muzzle, lovely dark eye, intelligent feminine expression, strong neck into very good shoulder, good depth of chest, spring of rib, strong forelegs, pasterns and feet, very well built at rear, excellent thigh muscles, strong in hock, such an easy mover. Very sound, lovely temperament; 2 Andrews Supeta s Sweet Lil Mystery, most feminine girl, loved her head, eye and expression, ever attentive. Good front, depth of chest, shoulder, good rear construction, well developed thigh muscles, good stifle, excellent mover, kept topline, girl with attitude - of the right kind. Sound; 3 Daniel s Smart Wood Hills Dietrich at Mattacane, Russian import from champion parents, brown/rust of obvious appeal, at 20 months coming into herself. Pleasing head, clean and balanced, nicely coloured eye and expression, very inquisitive, body in very hardy condition, very well off for bone and muscle, sound mover, very animated. Pleasing temperament. O (10,3) Now to the business end of affairs. Outstanding quality, spoilt for choice, you name it, any old cliché will do. But with seven champions entered, what would you think? I can honestly say it gave me a real thrill to judge this class. 1 Ingrams Ch,Ir Ch Jojavik Poison Ivy JW ShCM, homebred from champion parents, what you see is what you get. Doesn t really need a handler, does it all herself, but handled to perfection nevertheless. As I said to the owners afterwards, the one thing you can t breed for is ring presence and charisma. That s Mother Nature s gift. This girl has it in abundance. Really bristling with condition, she s good and knows it! Such a lovely clean head to handle, balanced, flat skull, well set ears, good strong muzzle, good stop, most gorgeous dark

feminine eye and expression, a real siren. In such outstanding form, born showgirl, really excellent front and hindquarters, strong legs, pasterns and feet, good strong rear, excellent first and second thigh muscle enabling such easy, unperturbed movement. Dictatorial in attitude, knows the way round with such impressive drive and good reach in front. Still had her work cut out to win this class but never let handler down. Yes, all dogs have faults, this girl less than most. Well pleased to award her the CC, her 26 th I believe, two short of the record. At three and a bit years, no problem. At the in-show awards, referee Clive Evans called her forward for BIS. Well pleased, congratulations. 2 Well. If Ivy has class, so does Mycroft s Ch Supeta s Spells Trouble JW ShCM, unlucky to meet Ivy, ran her to the wire. Outstanding bitch whose movement I couldn t fault, but then, having gone over her, could do no more than demonstrate how a well built, fit girl can go. A true worker. Really super quality head, so balanced and clean, flat skull, excellent ear carriage, loved her beautiful dark eye and ultra feminine expression. Again, like 1, hard to fault, hands just glide over body finding everything where it should be, so sound, so alert, so classy. Delighted to award her the RCC and see her selected for RBIS. Well done. Daughter of BV, mother of BPs. How bad is that? 3 Ingrams Ch Jojavik Molly Mobster JW ShCM, another excellent bitch of outstanding quality, total femininity, gorgeous head, eye and expression, presented in tip-top condition, showed her socks off, looked grand standing, impressive on the move, sound, delightful temperament. Completed a trio of lovely bitches. Geoff Duffield (judge)
