JBAR s new Educational Liason! Meet Leeme Diane Raygoza who is JBAR s new educational liason for the schools of Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue. We so fortunate to have Leeme aboard as she is fluent in both Spanish and English. Here is what Leeme has to say: Opportunity knocked when I discovered that JBAR needed someone to help the education coordinator. I'm passionate about working with kids and love animals. My 3yr old daughter is half- mexican so I couldn't imagine a better fit for me. I was admittedly nervous about the reaction I would get from the kids. Pets here are generally not treated the same as they are in Canada or the USA. I was pleasantly surprised to find most of the kids were very excited to talk about their pets and animals in general. We discussed not only the importance of spaying and neutering, but how they need so many of the same things that kids need. The kids gave me great ideas for future visits to schools and gave me the inspiration that things can improve here in Mexico.
I'm looking forward to going to as many schools as I can next fall when I return to Guayabitos. Leeme visted two schools and 180 children to educate about animal care and welfare. Thank you Leeme!! http://www.mexpup.com Please let us know if you are willing to be a Guardian Angel to accompany a pup back to Canada.
