Although we have had a few rough drought years now, we feel that the bulls we are offering in this sale are some of the best we ve raised. We constantly work to provide the highest quality cattle that can survive and thrive in the high altitude and harsh elements of the San Luis Valley. We are again offering a nice set of bulls raised by Campbell s from Ignacio, CO. All of the bulls in the sale have endured the same development test and harsh winter conditions since weaning last fall. We have worked hard to provide you not only PAP tested bulls, but a multiple-generation PAP tested pedigree and breeding program. Our entire cow herd is based on pedigrees that have proven to be successful at high elevations. Knowing first-hand the financial impact that brisket disease can have on a calf crop, we truly understand the importance of having a source for genetics that work in the high country. Our bull development program is designed for optimum performance and longevity, without overfeeding or over-fattening that can negatively impact long-term profitability. We want to be sure you get the right bull for your operation, so if you have any questions about anything in the catalog or otherwise, please contact us by phone, e-mail, or text and we will be glad to help you. Bulls are available for inspection at the ranch anytime, and videos will be posted online 2 weeks prior to the sale at www.t-heartranch.com. Ultrasound and breeding soundness data will be available online prior to the sale as well. We appreciate your business and look forward to working with you in the future. Shane and Beth Temple Shelby, Lindsey, and Ashley

EPD Definitions EPDs are calculated by the National Cattle Evaluation program to best provide linear unbiased predictions of genetic merit. Several things are factored in when calculating EPD s. The individuals own performance record, relatives in the pedigree, progeny and grand progeny. Thus, accuracy plays an important part in the calculation. Each Association has a separate database for calculating EPDs. Therefore, there are different EPD averages within each breed and the breeds should not be compared to each other. The EPD was created to give a comparison only within the breed. The EPD s in this catalog are: CE: Calving Ease (Angus & ) A number that predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire s calves will be born when he is bred to first calf heifers higher numbers indicate greater calving-ease. () shown as a ratio with a higher number meaning more ease of calving. BW: Birth Weight, WW: Weaning Weight & YW: Yearling Weight All are expressed in pounds. This shows the expected number of pounds a bull or female will add or subtract from their progeny s birth weight, weaning weight and yearling weight respectively. Milk (Angus & ) MM ( & ) expressed in pounds of weaning weight that a female will add or subtract or that a bull s daughters will have. TM: Total Maternal - (Angus & ): MWW: Maternal Weaning Weight ( & ) expresses the combination of what a sire transmits to his daughters in the form of genetics for growth and genetics for milking ability. Or that same trait directly applied to a female and expressed in pounds. CED (): Calving Ease Daughters shown as a ratio this EPD predicts how well an animal s daughters will calve with a higher number being easier calving. CEM (Angus): Calving Ease Maternal - A number that predicts the ease of calving in a sire (or dam s) daughters. The higher the number, the higher the calving ease. SC: Scrotal Circumference: Value is expressed in centimeters of adjusted yearling (progeny) scrotal circumference. CW: Carcass Weight: expressed in pounds of carcass weight adjusted to a constant fat endpoint. REA: Rib Eye Area: expressed in square inches of rib eye muscle area adjusted to a constant fat endpoint. MB: Marbling: expressed in degrees of marbling score, a determinant of USDA Quality Grade. Value is adjusted to a constant fat endpoint. BF: (Angus & ) : Percentage of backfat on a carcass at 475 days. FT: (Angus) Fat Thickness expressed in inches, is a predictor of the dif- ferences in external fat thickness at the 12th rib (as measured between the 12th and 13th ribs) of a sire s progeny compared to progeny of other sires. YG: Yield Grade (Red Angus & ): Carcass yield grade score at 475 days. 2

DtF: Days to Finish: expressed in days to reach a constant fat endpoint, used to determine when an animal is finished with the appropriate amount of fat cover. CV: Carcass Value: expressed in dollar value per head, comparing progeny of one animal to another in $ differences when sold on a grid. FM: Feedlot Merit: expressed in dollars per head, value passed on to progeny. API: All-Purpose Index: () Evaluates sires for use on the entire cowherd (bred to both Angus first-calf heifers and mature cows) with the portion of their daughters required to maintain herd size retained and the remaining heifers and steers put on feed and sold grade and yield. TI: Terminal Index: () Evaluates sires for use on mature Angus cows with all offspring put on feed and sold grade and yield. Using API and TI: First, determine which index to use; if you are keeping replacements use API, if not, use TI. Then, just as with EPDs, zero in on the unit difference between bulls. (As described above, index units are in dollars per cow exposed.) The difference can be used to determine how much a bull is worth compared to another. Put another way, how much you can pay for one bull compared to another. For example, when buying an all-purpose sire, you can quickly figure a bull scoring +100 for API is worth an extra $6,000 over a +50 bull if both are exposed to 30 cows over 4 years ($50 diff. x 30 hd. x 4 yr. = $6,000). A percentile ranking chart is required to determine where a bull s index value ranks him relative to other bulls in the breed. $VALUE INDEXES $Value indexes are multi-trait selection indexes, expressed in dollars per head, to assist beef producers by adding simplicity to genetic selection decisions. The $Value is an estimate of how future progeny of each sire are expected to perform, on average, compared to progeny of other sires in the database if the sires were randomly mated to cows and if calves were exposed to the same environment. Weaned Calf Value ($W), an index value expressed in dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for pre- weaning merit. $W includes both revenue and cost adjustments associated with differences in birth weight, weaning direct growth, maternal milk, and mature cow size. Feedlot Value ($F), an index value expressed in dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for post-weaning merit compared to progeny of other sires. Grid Value ($G), an index value expressed in dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for carcass grid merit compared to progeny of other sires. Beef Value ($B), an index value expressed in dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for post-weaning and carcass value compared to progeny of other sires. 3

EPD Percentiles - Where does an animal rank? Knowing where an animal s EPD ranks within the population of any given genetic evaluation is a far more valuable and accurate prediction of that animals true genetic predicted merit than simply knowing the numeric value of the EPD itself. First and foremost, before you can rank or even compare animals EPDs, you must be comparing apples to apples and that s why we use the American Association s Multi-Breed Genetic Evaluation. It eliminates the guesswork and necessity conversion table and formulas when comparing breeds or hybrids. The accuracy of the Multi-Breed evaluation is increased greatly when all of an animals ancestors are registered in the ASA herdbook and all of the progeny data from them are processed through the Multi-Breed Genetic Evaluation. The percentile charts below are from the American Association 2013 Multi-Breed Genetic Evaluation using the new /Red Angus base. Using these charts to plot exactly where an animal ranks within the breed is the most accurate way of determining their true genetic merit and is far more important than the actual numeric value given to the EPD. The new ASA/RAAA base that was implemented for the 2013 Spring EPDs does not change animal rankings. 4 2013 Purebred Percentile Table % CE BW WW YW MCE MLK MWW STY DOC CWT YG MRB BF REA SF API TI 1 16.7-2.2 83.4 126.7 15.1 34.8 68.9 28.2 15.7 51.5-0.43 0.40-0.10 1.04-0.53 146.52 78.14 2 15.8-1.7 81.0 122.5 14.3 33.4 67.2 27.1 15.0 48.6-0.41 0.36-0.10 0.99-0.50 141.86 76.41 3 15.2-1.3 79.4 119.9 13.8 32.5 66.1 26.4 14.5 46.8-0.40 0.34-0.09 0.96-0.49 138.91 75.31 4 14.8-1.1 78.2 117.9 13.4 31.9 65.3 25.9 14.1 45.4-0.39 0.32-0.09 0.93-0.47 136.69 74.49 5 14.4-0.9 77.3 116.3 13.1 31.3 64.6 25.5 13.9 44.3-0.38 0.31-0.09 0.91-0.46 134.88 73.82 10 13.2-0.2 74.0 110.7 12.0 29.5 62.3 24.0 12.9 40.4-0.35 0.26-0.08 0.84-0.43 128.69 71.51 15 12.4 0.3 71.8 107.0 11.2 28.2 60.7 23.1 12.2 37.9-0.33 0.23-0.08 0.80-0.40 124.51 69.96 20 11.8 0.7 70.1 104.0 10.7 27.3 59.5 22.3 11.7 35.8-0.32 0.20-0.07 0.76-0.38 121.18 68.72 25 11.2 1.0 68.6 101.5 10.2 26.4 58.4 21.6 11.2 34.0-0.31 0.18-0.07 0.73-0.37 118.33 67.66 30 10.7 1.3 67.2 99.2 9.7 25.7 57.5 21.0 10.8 32.5-0.30 0.16-0.07 0.70-0.35 115.75 66.71 35 10.3 1.5 66.0 97.0 9.3 25.0 56.6 20.5 10.5 31.0-0.29 0.14-0.06 0.67-0.34 113.39 65.83 40 9.9 1.8 64.8 95.0 8.9 24.3 55.8 20.0 10.1 29.6-0.27 0.12-0.06 0.64-0.32 111.12 64.99 45 9.4 2.0 63.6 93.1 8.5 23.6 55.0 19.5 9.8 28.3-0.27 0.10-0.06 0.62-0.31 108.96 64.18 50 9.0 2.3 62.5 91.2 8.1 23.0 54.2 19.0 9.4 26.9-0.26 0.09-0.06 0.60-0.30 106.81 63.38 55 8.6 2.5 61.4 89.2 7.8 22.4 53.4 18.5 9.1 25.6-0.25 0.07-0.06 0.57-0.29 104.66 62.58 60 8.2 2.8 60.2 87.3 7.4 21.7 52.5 18.0 8.8 24.3-0.24 0.05-0.05 0.55-0.27 102.49 61.78 65 7.7 3.0 59.0 85.3 7.0 21.1 51.7 17.4 8.4 22.9-0.23 0.04-0.05 0.52-0.26 100.22 60.94 70 7.3 3.3 57.8 83.2 6.6 20.4 50.8 16.9 8.0 21.4-0.22 0.02-0.05 0.49-0.25 97.86 60.06 75 6.8 3.6 56.4 80.9 6.1 19.6 49.9 16.3 7.6 19.8-0.20 0.00-0.05 0.46-0.23 95.28 59.10 80 6.2 3.9 54.9 78.3 5.6 18.7 48.8 15.6 7.2 18.1-0.19-0.02-0.04 0.43-0.21 92.43 58.04 85 5.6 4.3 53.2 75.3 5.0 17.8 47.6 14.9 6.6 16.0-0.18-0.05-0.04 0.39-0.19 89.11 56.81 90 4.8 4.7 51.0 71.6 4.3 16.5 46.0 13.9 6.0 13.4-0.16-0.08-0.03 0.35-0.17 84.92 55.25 95 3.6 5.4 47.7 66.1 3.2 14.7 43.7 12.5 5.0 9.6-0.13-0.13-0.03 0.28-0.13 78.73 52.95 Avg 9.0 2.3 62.5 91.2 8.1 23.0 54.2 19.0 9.4 26.9-0.26 0.09-0.06 0.60-0.30 106.81 63.38 2013 Hybrid Percentile Table % CE BW WW YW MCE MLK MWW DOC CWT YG MRB BF REA SF API TI 1 18.8-3.8 81.5 131.0 14.6 32.7 66.6 16.8 51.5-0.44 0.77-0.10 0.95-0.54 166.23 85.69 2 17.7-3.2 78.8 126.1 13.7 31.4 64.8 16.0 48.2-0.41 0.70-0.10 0.90-0.51 159.30 83.01 3 17.1-2.9 77.1 122.9 13.2 30.6 63.6 15.5 46.2-0.39 0.67-0.09 0.87-0.49 154.91 81.31 4 16.6-2.6 75.8 120.6 12.8 30.0 62.7 15.1 44.7-0.38 0.64-0.09 0.85-0.48 151.61 80.04 5 16.2-2.4 74.7 118.7 12.4 29.5 62.0 14.8 43.4-0.37 0.61-0.08 0.82-0.47 148.92 79.00 10 14.8-1.6 71.0 112.1 11.3 27.8 59.5 13.6 39.1-0.33 0.53-0.07 0.76-0.43 139.70 75.44 15 13.8-1.1 68.6 107.6 10.5 26.7 57.9 12.9 36.3-0.31 0.48-0.07 0.71-0.40 133.48 73.04 20 13.1-0.7 66.6 104.1 9.8 25.8 56.6 12.3 34.0-0.29 0.43-0.06 0.67-0.38 128.53 71.13 25 12.5-0.4 65.0 101.1 9.3 25.0 55.5 11.8 32.0-0.27 0.40-0.06 0.64-0.36 124.29 69.49 30 11.9 0.0 63.4 98.4 8.8 24.3 54.4 11.3 30.2-0.25 0.36-0.05 0.61-0.35 120.45 68.02 35 11.4 0.2 62.1 95.9 8.4 23.7 53.5 10.9 28.6-0.24 0.33-0.05 0.58-0.33 116.95 66.66 40 10.8 0.5 60.7 93.5 8.0 23.1 52.6 10.5 27.0-0.22 0.30-0.05 0.56-0.32 113.57 65.36 45 10.4 0.8 59.4 91.2 7.6 22.5 51.8 10.1 25.5-0.21 0.27-0.04 0.54-0.30 110.35 64.11 50 9.9 1.0 58.2 88.9 7.2 21.9 50.9 9.8 24.0-0.20 0.25-0.04 0.51-0.29 107.15 62.88 55 9.4 1.3 56.9 86.6 6.7 21.3 50.1 9.4 22.6-0.19 0.22-0.04 0.49-0.27 103.95 61.64 60 8.9 1.6 55.6 84.3 6.3 20.7 49.2 9.0 21.1-0.17 0.19-0.03 0.46-0.26 100.72 60.40 65 8.4 1.8 54.3 81.9 5.9 20.1 48.3 8.6 19.5-0.16 0.16-0.03 0.44-0.25 97.34 59.10 70 7.9 2.1 52.9 79.4 5.5 19.5 47.4 8.2 17.9-0.14 0.13-0.03 0.41-0.23 93.84 57.74 75 7.3 2.4 51.4 76.7 5.0 18.8 46.4 7.7 16.1-0.13 0.10-0.02 0.38-0.21 90.01 56.26 80 6.7 2.8 49.7 73.6 4.5 18.0 45.2 7.2 14.1-0.11 0.06-0.02 0.35-0.20 85.77 54.63 85 5.9 3.2 47.8 70.1 3.8 17.1 43.9 6.6 11.8-0.09 0.01-0.01 0.31-0.17 80.81 52.72 90 5.0 3.7 45.3 65.7 3.0 16.0 42.3 5.9 8.9-0.07-0.04-0.01 0.27-0.15 74.59 50.32 95 3.6 4.4 41.7 59.1 1.9 14.3 39.8 4.8 4.7-0.03-0.12 0.00 0.20-0.11 65.38 46.76 Avg 9.9 1.0 58.2 88.9 7.2 21.9 50.9 9.8 24.0-0.20 0.25-0.04 0.51-0.29 107.15 62.88

High Mountain Disease and PAP Testing High Mountain Disease (HMD) also known as Brisket Disease or Dropsy, is one of the Rocky Mountain region s most costly diseases. The disease is the result of elevated pulmonary arterial pressure caused from lack of oxygen, and generally affects animals at elevations above 5,000 ft. Cattle differ in how they respond to oxygen shortage. Some are able to tolerate high pressures for a long period of time while others die quickly. HMD is not limited to one sex or breed, and has been found across all breeds including crossbreds. Dr. Tim Holt, Fort Collins, CO is the consensus world expert on HMD. He s an Assistant Professor at CSU s veterinary hospital and also has a private veterinary practice. Dr. Holt is known as the guru of PAP testing. Pulmonary arterial pressure (PAP) scores are obtained by a procedure called right-heartcatheterization. In this procedure, a fine plastic catheter is passed through a needle in the jugular vein, with blood flow into the upper right side of the heart, through a valve into the right ventricle, through another valve, and into the pulmonary artery just short of the branches to the lungs. Pressure waves are observed on a heart monitor and the monitor gives a direct readout of the true average pressure. This disease is stimulated by hypoxic stress secondary to high altitude, Holt explains. Therefore, it s impossible at this time to conduct accurate PAP tests in lower elevations. That s not to say it s not done at lower elevations, but this should be kept in mind at all times when testing cattle in lower elevations. The test at lower elevations should be used only to evaluate the cattle in that herd, Holt explains. It s not a sellable test, he says. In other words, cattle he s tested at lower elevations, regardless of how low their PAP score, have still developed HMD - or scored a high PAP test when taken to high altitude. Research has shown that the heritability of HMD can be quite high, ranging from 42% to 84%. This indicates that cattlemen can successfully select against the disease by culling cattle with high PAP scores. In efforts to cut losses to HMD, cattlemen should identify those animals, specifically bulls, with high PAP scores and cull them from the herd or avoid adding them to the herd. Dr. Holt assures us that the higher the elevation, the more accurate the test. The bulls selling in this sale were all PAP tested by Dr. Tim Holt at T-Heart Ranch at 7,680 ft elevation. Every T-Heart Ranch bull in the sale comes from a multiple-generation PAP tested pedigree. T-Heart Ranch has PAP tested over 3,800 head in the last 9 years 5

For decades, the American Association has used DNA to verify color, genetic defects and parentage. New research has enabled DNA to provide valuable information for genetic evaluation. We are now offering a DNA test that, when incorporated into ASA s genetic evaluation, can add significant enhancement to lower accuracy EPDs. BIDDING AND APPLICABLE LAW: All cattle listed in this offering comply with prevailing sale terms and conditions as set forth by the laws of the state wherein the sale is conducted. There are no warranties, expressed or implied, by either the auctioneer or consignor, except as set forth herein, as to the merchantability of fitness for any particular purpose of any animal offered in this sale. The right to bid or the right to reject the final bid, if done before the hammer falls, is reserved for all sellers unless otherwise announced from the sale block or as prohibited by law in the state wherein the sale is being conducted. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Any change of information other than in the catalog will be announced from the auction block and such announcements shall take precedence over printed material. All statements made from the auction block or those made by the seller (in private treaty), must be documented by seller if requested by the buyer at time of sale. TERMS: Terms of sale are cash unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made with the seller previous to the sale of any animal so affected. PURCHASER S RISK: Each animal becomes the property of and therefore is also the risk of the purchaser as soon as it is sold; except it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and cared for free of charge to purchaser, until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of twenty-four (24) hours after the sale, whichever occurs first. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: 1. All cattle entered for sale must meet the health regulations of the state in which they are sold. All other agreements regarding the health of the animal will be between the buyer and seller and should be documented in writing. 2. If sale cattle are returned to the seller for an adjustment, they must meet the health requirements of the state they are returned to. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: Each animal, which is catalogued, offered and sold as a registered animal, shall have a certificate of registry available at time of sale. When an animal is sold as eligible for registry or registry applied for, the seller shall be responsible for obtaining the certificate of registry and for the proper transfer of the certificate to the purchaser including full payment of transfer fees. IDENTIFICATION: Each animal, at time of sale, must have a readable tattoo or brand corresponding to that shown on the certificate of registration. AUTHENTICITY OF PEDIGREE: When an animal, through parental validation, is determined to have an ancestry other than that reported on the registration certificate, the buyer shall be entitled to a refund of the purchase price from the seller upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the seller s expense. The animal in question, at the buyer s option, may be exchanged for another animal of equal value, or if agreeable with the buyer, the seller may have the certificate returned to the buyer. Any adjustment provided herein, if selected, shall absolve the seller from further liability for authenticity of pedigree to the buyer. BREEDING GUARANTEES AND DEFINITIONS: 1. Females are guaranteed to be breeders, with the exception of: a) Female calves sold at side of dam b) Injury or disease occurring to the animal after time of sale c) Gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser d) Females used in ovum transplant after time of sale e) Cows sold with calf at side or a female that calves after sale to breeding prior to the date of sale 2. Bulls are guaranteed to be breeders (definition as the ability to settle healthy cows by the time the bull is 18 months of age) with the exception of: a) Bull calves sold at side of dam b) Injury or disease occurring to the animal after time of sale c) Gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser d) Bulls shown competitively after sale 3. Any guarantees with respect to the ability to freeze semen shall be made by separate agreement between buyer and seller. 4. Safe in calf females are females that have been diagnosed pregnant by a competent veterinarian, and are pregnant at time of sale. 5. A bred female is a female known to have been served by a bull either by natural breeding or artificial insemination, but it does not necessarily mean that the female is safe in calf to that service. 6. A pasture-bred female is a female that has been pastured with a designated bull and has been exposed for the time stated, but it does not necessarily mean that this female is safe in calf to that bull. 7. An open female is a non-pregnant animal. 8. Calves sold off their dams (split pairs) shall carry the full breeding guarantee. PRIVILEGE OF PURCHASER TO EXAMINE: The purchaser of a female animal may have her examined within twenty-four (24) hours after the fall of the hammer and prior to removal from sale premises. The pregnancy status of breeding status of a female so examined, when found not to be as represented at the time of sale, is cause for the female to be returned to the seller as unsold. EMBRYO TRANSFER: 1. Sellers should provide upon request a complete history of embryo transfer activity for any female offered for sale. 2. Withholding information on the existence of frozen embryos at the time of sale would be considered an unethical practice. 24 ASA SUGGESTED SALE TERMS AND CONDITIONS Effective January 1, 2011 HORNED-SCURRED-POLLED DEFINITIONS: 1. HORNED An animal with a horn growth affixed to the skull that has or has not been removed. 2. POLLED/SCURRED An animal with rudimentary horn growth that will not develop into a horn. The rudimentary horn growth may or may not become affixed to the skull at an older age. 3. POLLED An animal with absence of horn growth. (An animal can have scurs and still be genetically polled.) 4. SMOOTH POLLED A smooth-polled individual has no scurs and does not develop scurs later in life. GUARANTEES: 1. If an animal is sold as polled or polled/scurred and proves to be horned, the seller shall be obligated to refund the purchase price upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the expense of the seller or may be exchanged for a polled animal of equal value whichever is acceptable to the buyer. The buyer has thirty (30) days from date of sale to notify the seller that an adjustment is in order. 2. If an animal is sold as smooth-polled and proves to be scurred, the seller shall be obligated to refund the price upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the expense of the seller or at the buyer s option shall be exchanged for a smooth-polled animal of equal value. 3. If an animal is sold as polled and develops scurs, the seller will not be obligated to make any adjustment as a scurred animal is considered polled. 4. If an animal is sold as polled and has scurs, it shall be so announced at the time of sale that the animal has scurs. If it is not announced and the buyer finds before the animal leaves the sale premises that the animal has scurs, the buyer must notify the seller of the findings. The seller shall then be obligated to refund the purchase price. OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT: The following adjustments do not preclude the right of the buyer and seller to mutually agree upon other terms and conditions for settlement of any dispute. 1. All claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing either six (6) months from the date of sale or no later than when the animal reaches 24 months of age whichever occurs later, with the exception of claims involving misrepresentation of service sire or as otherwise provided herein. 2. In the event an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the animal may be returned to the farm of the seller, at the buyer s expense, if in good physical condition, and the return is in compliance with the health requirements of the seller s state. The seller shall be entitled to a six (6) month trial period following the return of the animal in which to prove the animal is a breeder. If at the end of six (6) months the seller is unable to prove the animal is a breeder, the seller shall, at the option of buyer, replace the animal with another equal value or refund the purchase price. Either option shall be deemed full satisfaction and settlement. 3.If a female is sold as safe in calf to a given sire or sires on a specified date or dates and proves not to be as represented, the buyer is entitled to a refund of the purchase price from the seller upon return of the animal and resulting progeny thereof to the farm of the seller at the seller s expense. 4. If a female is sold as open and proves to be with calf at time of sale and examined pregnant within sixty (60) days after sale, the buyer may return the animal to the farm of the seller prior to calving for a refund of the full purchase price or for another animal of equal value, whichever acceptable to the buyer. It shall be the obligation of the seller to bear any expenses incurred for transportation of the animal in question to the farm of the seller. GENETIC TESTING AND TraitTrac STATUS: Sellers must identify the TraitTrac status and the results of any qualitative genetic testing performed on any animals or genetic material offered for sale. The ASA considers it an unethical practice to misrepresent or fail to disclose the TraitTrac status or qualitative genetic test results of any animal or genetic material. DISCLOSURE OF MATERIAL INFORMATION: Sellers must disclose all material information concerning any animal or genetic material offered for sale. For the purposes of these Sale Terms and Conditions, Material Information is defined as any information which would be likely to affect the value of the animal or genetic material if the information were known to the public. Material Information includes, but is not limited to, information related to genetic tests, blood tests, ultrasound pregnancy results, disease tests, pregnancy and fertility test results, information related to the sex and age of in utero calves or embryos, and information related to the fertilization status of in utero calves, including whether the calf was conceived via artificial insemination or natural service. The ASA considers it an unethical practice to misrepresent or fail to disclose any Material Information concerning an animal or genetic material offered for sale. LIMITATIONS OF OBLIGATIONS: These sale terms and conditions constitute a binding legal obligation between the buyer and seller of any animal or genetic material sold under these terms and conditions. However, the ASA, its directors, officers, employees and agents do not assume any obligation, legal or otherwise, to enforce the sale terms and conditions agreed to between buyer and seller.

Cattle with advanced genetic potential, greater levels of health and nutrition are worth more simply because they have the potential to deliver more value with less risk for their next owner. Everyone wants a premium for their efforts, but to access a larger and better market you need to consider showing your production to a larger and better audience. Week in and week out the market values generated by Superior Livestock set the standard by which premium prices are measured. Let your seedstock provider and Allied Genetic Resources provide you the service you need to take advantage of that added value. All of us struggle when it comes to determining a market value for our calves. Ask too little and leave dollars on the table, ask too much and risk losing a sale. Most of us would rather take a whipping than decide whether or not to accept an offered price or answer the question, what do you want for your calves? Allied can help you through that process by representing your best interest in the sale of your feeder cattle or potential replacement females. Your seedstock provider, with help from Allied staff, can help you set a fair and justified premium price for your cattle and then represent them to the world through Superior Livestock s massive network of buyers. Instead of counting on 3 or 4 buyers to fairly compete for your better calves, represent them to 7,000 new ones in addition to the 3 or 4 you ve dealt with in the past. The Superior marketing option we prefer and specialize in is the Country Page program (www.superiorlivestock. com). This internet based, private treaty style option allows you to set an asking price with delivery details that suit your program and not commit you to a single day s market with the potential risk and volatility that we see more and more of these days. Buyers then have the option to buy now at the asking price you ve listed or place a bid on those cattle that can be raised by another bidder or accepted at any point by the seller. Your representative can help you with setting that desired price and all the details of delivery, video and the extra value descriptions that make one set of cattle more attractive to buyers than another. Of course the regular Superior Livestock Video Auctions are always a great option for those who believe there is more value to be gained by that method of selling and your producer representative is fully capable of handling the details to get your calves promoted for sale on TV. Of course, larger groups (semi loads) are best suited for these types of sales, but your representative is ready to assist you in working with other producers to market your calves together and take advantage of the extra value larger numbers can attract. Certainly there is greater effort involved in marketing this way, but the rewards can be great. Your seedstock source has a vested interest in your success because it is directly tied to his or her own long term success. Who else knows more about the value of your production than someone you work with regularly to make improvement.
