November 03, 2010 Tideline Aquatics Store Hours Monday Tuesday-Friday Saturday Sunday Closed 11am-7pm 10am-6pm 12pm-5pm NEW LED AQUARIUMS BY MARINELAND!! a submersible aquarium heater and a thermometer. NEW AQUARIUMS WITH LED LIGHTING HOODS!! Our first shipment of the new Marineland LED (light emitting diode) Aquarium Kits has arrived! Why LED you may ask? LED lighting uses very little energy, the lamps don t heat up your aquarium and the lamps last for over 10 years!! These LED hoods have both daytime and night lights included in each hood too Each aquarium kit includes the tank, the low energy consumption LED hood, a quality biowheel power filter, water conditioner, fish food, fish net

Every reef aquarium benefits from the addition of a refugium. These new refugiums by Eschopps are top quality at an affordable price! Refugiums include a section in the filter where macro-algae is grown. This algae farm utilizes nutrients in the aquarium water thus starving out algae in the main aquarium. This area also offers refuge to micro-organisms (copepods, tiny marine worms, amphipods, etc) that make their way back into the main aquarium thus maintaining the micro-fauna in the reef. The Eschopps refugium includes a sock filter to prefilter out solid waste material, a foam block to trap larger debris and a protein skimmer compartment to house your main pump and skimmer. We are now stocking these quality refugiums at Tideline Aquatics. If you already have an existing reef or aquarium filter sump we also offer an Add-On Refugium in three convenient sizes. These add-on systems are manufactured by Aquarium Life Support. These systems can be placed on both fish and reef aquariums and can be operated separately in the even the aquarium requires a treatment that may harm the micro-fauna thriving there. Every marine aquarium benefits from the addition of a refugium! DON T LET FALL DESTROY YOUR POND... kill your fish. This time of year you should take the time to scoop out leaves at least three times per week or simply cover your pond with pond netting until the trees have finished their fall shedding. Pond netting may not be the most beautiful addition to your pond but it will reduce the work you have to do and it will save the pond water from being degraded by organic matter. Pond netting will also protect your fish from predators in the colder months when they are most vulnerable. Predatory birds target pond fish especially when all of the plants have gone dormant making your fish an easy target. Cover the pond to protect the pond water and your fish this fall and winter! LOOK WHO IS BACK. The weather has shifted seasons and pond owners need to take notice. Allowing leaves and other tree debris to settle in the bottom of your pond can spell disaster for your fish. This decaying matter of tree debris will force down the ph of the water possibly to levels that can Well kind of.lol. On the weekends you may get to see our former wonder woman employee Nina back on the sales floor. Due to health issues she is unable to work with us all the time but she will be giving us a guest appearance on certain weekends beginning next weekend! Be sure to stop by and wish her well!!

QUALITY FRAGS IN STOCK NOW!! rocks or plugs and allowed to become established prior to selling them to you. This allows you to purchase a normally expensive coral species for a frag-tion of the cost! We have a coupon posted this week to save you even more money But 2 frags and get one of equal or lesser value absolutely free!! THE FRESHWATER BLENNY... SO DARN CUTE! Peeking above the trim of the aquarium is one of the awesome and curious freshwater blennies we FINALLY have back in stock after being unavailable for several years! If you desire a saltwater-like fish for your community aquarium this fish definitely fits the bill. These cute little guys spend all day jumping from place to place around the tank in search of a bite to eat. We have acclimated these fish to eating both dry and frozen foods. If you have a small aquarium (less than 55 gallons) we suggest only keeping one of these fish per tank but in larger aquariums with plenty of rocks and hideouts, several can be kept together. These little fish have proved to be hardy and just a fun addition to the freshwater aquarium. Our frag aquarium is now loaded with quality reef coral frags from both our suppliers and our customers! We have tons of lovely zoanthids, acans, pulsing xenias, frogspawns, bright red hardy cultured goniopora, bright green duncans whisker corals and more! Frags are nothing more than cut pieces of coral taken from mother colonies. These fragments are attached to either
