A listing fee must be paid with the entry fee if the dog does not have an individual CKC registration number. The litter registration number cannot be accepted. If you send a cheque in US funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. ENTRY INFORMATION 1. No dog under six months of age is permitted to enter the show premises except, preregistered puppies 3-6 months of age that are with the owner who has other dog(s) entered in regular classes of the show (these puppies will not be listed in the catalogue but must be pre-registered by the owner at or before the closing date and time of entries) and those that are entered in the Baby Puppy Class. 2. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the entry fee. 3. Tendering of an NSF cheque as payment of entry fees shall be considered to be nonpayment of entry fees and is an offense punishable by disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. 4. Entrants must abide by any errors made in entering their dogs. The Show Secretary will not be responsible for checking the accuracy of entries. Errors should be brought to the attention of the Show Secretary. 5. The committee reserves the right to refuse entries subject to CKC rules. 6. The Show Secretary will be unable to accept or cancel entries after the closing date. 7. Telephone, fax, or any other electronic entries are prohibited except in such circumstances as the CKC Board of Directors may otherwise authorize. (13.4.1 Dog Show Rules) 8. Every dog entered in a championship show must be registered or eligible for registration in the Stud Book of the CKC. 9. Entry forms must be completed in full. Incomplete entry forms must be rejected by the show-giving club and returned. Please double-check your entry. No one shall have any claim or recourse against the organization holding the show/trial or any official connected therewith for the refusal of an entry.

Visa, MasterCard & American Express Accepted CHAMPIONSHIP POINT RATINGS The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated dog-awarded winners shall be: Dogs competing (including dog awarded winners): In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from their ring by the judge shall not be included in the calculation for championship points. In order for a dog to be recognized as a champion it must win at least 10 points under 3 different judges, which includes at least one 2-point win. This 2-point win must be at the breed or group level.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. These shows and trials are being held under the Canadian Kennel Club Rules. 2. Copies of the rules can be obtained by writing: The Canadian Kennel Club, 200 Ronson Drive, Suite 400, Etobicoke, ON, M9W 5Z9 Exhibitors should pay particular attention to all chapters pertaining to rules of the shows/trials. GENERAL INFORMATION On the day of the show, the Show Superintendent has complete charge of the show/trial. After the closing of entries, a receipt, exhibitor's pass and judging schedule will be sent to all exhibitors. Exhibitor's passes must be presented at the entrance of the show premises. Only dogs entered in the show will be admitted. The building will be opened 1 (one) hour before the start of the show/trial. Dogs may be removed from the building when not required for judging. Dogs must not be left in the building over night. Judging will proceed without any dog, if the dog is not present when called by the ring steward. The Show / Trial Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability, in the event of an accident or other misfortune to either dogs or patrons. If, because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made. We regret that trailer hookups will not be available at the show site. It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at an event held under these rules is not subject to indignities. The Conformation Show / Trail Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation. The Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. The show / trial grounds are defined as the exterior walls of the St. John s Recreational Center, Buckmaster s Circle, St. John s, Newfoundland. The authorities of the show / trial may decline to accept entries for just cause, or may remove any dog from the show / trial building due to disease or viciousness. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING. AS OF JANUARY 1, 2014 THE FOLLOWING RULE SHALL APPLY TO ALL EXHIBITORS: No cellphone videos/photos shall be permitted at the Show site. The use of any photographic and/or video equipment to videotape or take images of any dog other than those personally owned at an NKC event, is strictly prohibited unless written consent has previously been granted by the Show Committee and/or the owner of the dog(s). The only person authorized to take photos of dogs in the Official Show Photographer s booth is the Show Photographer. There will be a Veterinarian on call throughout the shows/trials

Policy: CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB Non-Member Participation Fee (Effective January 1, 2011) Non-member participation fee a) An annual fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have the option to become a CKC member or pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in all awards and titles being cancelled. c) All Premium Lists will carry a note stating the fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by non members and is not applicable to CKC members. Information: A non member resident in Canada is subject to the fee. Dogs co-owned with a CKC member are exempt. CONFORMATION Regular official classes at CKC conformation show shall be as described in this section. All classes must be divided by sex (except for Specials Only). Only dogs entered in one of the regular, non-regular, or unofficial classes shall be allowed within the show precincts. Baby Puppy Class (optional) Dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show. There are no Championship points awarded to Baby Puppies. Junior Puppy Dogs 6 months of age and under 9 months of age on the day of the show. Senior Puppy Dogs 9 months of age and under 12 months of age on the day of the show. 12 to 18 months Dogs 12 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Canadian Bred Dogs born in Canada only. Champions of any country excluded. Bred By Exhibitor Dogs owned by and handled in the ring by the breeder. Open For all dogs. Specials Only Dogs which have a recorded CKC Registration number or an Event Registration Number and have attained the required points for Championship status. Should a dog which is entered in this class be found either not to be registered, or has not completed the requirements for championship status, all awards earned at the show will be cancelled. Dogs entered in this class will compete for Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Puppy in Breed, if eligible. NOTE: A dog that completes the requirements for a championship title after the closing date for entries for the show, but whose championship is unconfirmed by the CKC may be transferred form the regular classes to "Specials Only" provided that the request for transfer is submitted in writing by the owner or handler at least 1 (one) hour prior to the opening of the show. Exhibition Only All dogs entered shall be listed in the catalogue with the same particulars as for a dog entered in competition. NOTE Dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show may be entered in Exhibition Only, provided that the owner of the puppy has also entered a dog in one of the regular classes in the show(s) on that day. An entry form is required; however, these puppies will not be listed in the catalogue. These shows are being held under Canadian Kennel Club rules. OBEDIENCE Novice A 9.1.1 The obedience Novice Class A shall be for dogs of any recognized or listed breed and of either sex which have not earned the title of C.D. (Companion Dog) in Canada or any other country. A dog shall not be entered in a Novice Class once it has been exhibited in an Open Class. 9.1.2 Only one dog per handler is allowed in this class, and that person must handle the dog in all exercises. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or a member of their immediate families, and must be eligible to handle under section 9.1.3. 9.1.3 No professional handler or trainer, or any person who has previously exhibited a dog through its U.D. (Utility Dog) title in Canada or elsewhere shall be allowed to handle a dog in this class. A person who receives a consideration (monetary or otherwise) for handling dogs may not enter this class. When a dog is wrongfully entered in this class, any score awarded will be cancelled. 9.1.4 A dog which has earned a comparable title in any other country is not eligible for entry in this class, but may be entered in the Novice B Class if it has not earned its C.D. title in Canada. Novice B 9.2.1 The obedience Novice Class B shall be for dogs of any recognized or listed breed and of either sex which have not earned the title of C.D. (Companion Dog) in Canada. 9.2.2 Dogs in this class may be handled or exhibited by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler who handled each dog in the first 4 exercises must handle each dog in the Sit and Down exercises, except that where a handler has handled more than one dog in the first 4 exercises, he must have an additional handler for each dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercises. 9.2.3 No dog may be entered in both the Novice Class A and Novice Class B at any one trial. A dog that has earned the title of C.D., or a comparable title in any other country, but has not earned its title of C.D. in Canada, may only be entered in the Novice Class. Open A 10.1.1 The obedience Open Class A shall be for dogs of any recognized or listed breed and of either sex which have earned the title of C.D. (Companion Dog) in Canada but which have not earned the title of C.D.X. (Companion Dog Excellent). 10.1.2 Only one dog per handler is allowed in this class, and that person must handle the dog in all exercises. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or a member of their immediate families, and must be eligible to handle under section 10.1.3. 10.1.3 No professional handler or trainer, or any person who has previously exhibited a dog through its U.D. (Utility Dog) title in Canada or elsewhere shall be allowed to handle a dog in this class. A person who receives a consideration (monetary or otherwise) for handling dogs may not enter this class. Open B 10.2.1 The obedience Open Class B shall be for dogs of any recognized or listed breed and of either sex which shall have earned the title of C.D. (Companion Dog) in Canada. 10.2.2 Dogs in this class may be handled or exhibited by the owner or any other person. 10.2.3 A person may enter more than one dog in this class, but the same handler who handled each dog in the first 5 exercises must handle each dog in the Sit and Down exercises, except that where a handler has handled more than one dog in the first 5 exercises, he must have an additional handler for each additional dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercises. 10.2.4 No dog may be entered in both Open Class A and Open Class B at any one trial. 10.2.5 A dog that has earned the title of C.D.X. or a comparable title in any other country must compete in Open Class B. Dogs that have completed the requirements for the title of U.D. (Utility Dog) in Canada may enter this class. 10.2.6 A dog eligible for entry in the Utility Class at any obedience trial held under these rules is also eligible for entry in the Open Class B at the same trial. Utility Class 11.1.1 The obedience Utility Class shall be for dogs of any recognized or listed breed and of either sex which shall have earned the title of C.D.X. (Companion Dog Excellent) in Canada. 11.1.2 Dogs in this class may be handled or exhibited by the owner or any other person. However, the same person must handle the dog in all exercises. Pre-Novice 13.2.1 The Pre-Novice class shall be for dogs of any recognized or listed breed and of either sex which have not earned the title of P.C.D. (Pre-Companion Dog) in Canada. 13.2.2 Dogs in this class may be handled or exhibited by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class and must have an additional handler for each dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercise. 13.2.3 A dog may be entered in the Pre-Novice that has not earned the title of C.D. in Canada or a comparable title in any other country. 13.2.4 The Pre-Novice class is an elective class and earning a title is not a requirement to advance to the Novice Classes. Exhibition Only All dogs entered for Exhibition Only shall be listed in the catalogue with the same particulars as for a dog entered in competition. A separate entry form is required for each class in an obedience trial. To facilitate setting up jumps for open and utility, please state the jump height requirement on each entry form. A bitch in season may not be entered in an obedience trial. Entry fees will be refunded for a bitch in season provided a veterinarian s certificate to this effect is presented to the show/trial secretary prior to the start of the first trial.

JUNIOR HANDLING Junior handling will be held Saturday and Sunday during the lunch break. Competitors are asked to please fill out the pre-registration form included. Class Structure- Conformation Peewee Handlers 4 years of age up to 6 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year. This is a non-competitive class. Junior Novice Handlers 7 to 10 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year, who have not won 6 first places in the same class with competition. Junior Open Handlers 7 to 10 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year, who have won 6 first places with competition. Intermediate Novice Class Handlers 11 to 14 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year, who have not won 6 first places in the same class with competition. Intermediate Open Class Handlers 11 to 14 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year, who have won 6 places with competition and for any handler who has progressed through the Junior Open Level and feels that he has enough experience to compete at this level. Senior Novice handlers 15 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age, who have not won 6 first places with competition in this class. Handlers from the Intermediate levels progress to this class. Senior Open This class is for handlers 15 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age, who have won 6 first places with competition, in the Senior Novice Class, and for any handler who has progressed through the Intermediate Open level and feels that he has enough experience to compete at this level. Best overall is optional at the discretion of the host club. Junior handlers are eligible to compete in the above class structure from their seventh birthday until they reach their eighteenth birthday. Class Structure- Obedience Junior Obedience Pre-Novice Open to handlers 7 years of age and up to and including 10 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year, who have not achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition. Intermediate Obedience Pre-Novice Open to handlers 11 years of age and up to and including 14 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year, who have not achieved 500 score points in any Pre- Novice competition.

Senior Obedience Pre-Novice Open to handlers 15 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age, who have not achieved 500 points in any Pre- Novice competition. Junior Obedience Novice Open to handlers 7 years of age and up to and including 10 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year, who have achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition or for any junior of relevant age who wishes to compete in this class. Intermediate Obedience Novice Open to handlers 11 years of age and up to and including 14 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the competition year, who have achieved 500 score points in any Pre- Novice competition or for any junior of relevant age who wishes to compete in this class. Senior Obedience Novice Open to handlers 15 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age, who have achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition or for any junior of relevant age who wishes to compete in this class. Junior Obedience Open Open to handlers 7 years of age and up to and including10 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the competition year. Intermediate Obedience Open Open to handlers 11 years of age and up to and including 14 years of age as of December 31 st of the year preceding the competition year. Senior Obedience Open Open to handlers 15 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age. Any dog may be used at the Pre-Novice, or Novice level including those with any Obedience titles. A dog used at the Open level must have a CD title (either CKC and/or AKC). 9.3 Size, temperament and manageability of the dog must be appropriate for the handler. 9.4 Juniors must enter (at their appropriate age level) either Pre-Novice, Novice or Open. 9.5 Once a junior competes in Novice or Open they may never enter Pre-Novice. Should such occur any points would be disallowed and any ribbons or prizes must be returned to the trial giving club. 9.6 Handlers may compete in Novice and/or Open for as long as they wish (within age restrictions). 9.7 Junior Obedience competitions shall be performed as summarized below: (a) Junior, Intermediate and Senior Pre-Novice Classes. (i) All exercises are on leash (ii) Heel on Leash, Stand for Examination, Recall, Long Sit and Long Down. (b) Junior, Intermediate and Senior Novice Classes: (i) Same format as titling Novice except Group exercises have different durations. (c) Junior, Intermediate and Senior Open Classes (i) Same format as titling Open except Group exercises have different duration
