The following information are for all participants, regardless if their dogs are entered in Junior Showmanship and/or Conformation and for all visitors! Shows held by ASCD e. V. are ASCA sanctioned events and therefore the club and all participants have to abide the rules and regulations set up by ASCA. You as a participant agree to do so by signing the ASCA entry form. With your signature you also agree to abide any other rules and regulations set up by the host club, so please read the following thoroughly! PLEASE - READ! For the new ones : If you are planning to attend our shows for the first time, please take the time to read this flyer from beginning to end, it is a lot of stuff but you will find answers to almost all questions you might have. For the old folks : Please read this premium, there are a lot of changes/additions to older premiums and yes, it will answer questions you might have after sending your entries! INDEX Altered Conformation: See ASCA show rules and regulations. A copy of the ASCA registration certificate MUST accompany all entries for dogs over 6 months of age, please add tail length information if not given on the copy! ASCA -registration entries 2-4 months and 4-6 months: If available, please include a copy of the Individual Dog Registration Application (please add tail length information). You can enter for the classes 2-4 months and 4-6 months without proof of registration, please note the tail length on the entry form then. ASCA -registration entries for all classes from 6-9 months on: Please send a copy of the registration certificate with your entry, if you have applied for registration, please note on the entry form! If the tail length is not given on the copy, please add it. We want to make sure in our catalogues that NBT are not mistaken with docked dogs. If you enter a docked dog born after June 1, 1998, enclose a copy of the indication letter from the vet who did the surgery giving the reason why the dog was docked and when, full address and phone number of the vet in German or English! Please note: Australian Shepherds 6 months or older first day of show are NOT ELIGIBLE TO START WITHOUT PROOF OF REGISTRATION and the fact that your dog is not yet registered does NOT mean that we will make an exception in paying the entry fee in time! Entries which are not paid until then are void, the dogs are not eligible to start and the entries will be returned to you without further notice! Cash payment is only accepted for day of show entries. We do not accept cheques and/or credit cards. Behavior on the show ground: Please do the main grooming part at home and use dirt bags at the showground. Any kind of dirt has to be removed by the creator resp. his owner! Please clean up after yourselves before you leave! Please keep a 1-2 m distance from the ring, make sure that no parts of your dogs (tails, legs) are in the ring, stop disturbing behavior of your dog/s immediately, don t play with or feed your dog directly at the ring. We have a photo corner at the show ground and you are of course welcome to take pictures of the dogs in the show ring BUT PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE RING All dogs (this INCLUDES puppies) have to be on leash while on the showground. If announcements are made, please listen to them and act accordingly. The ring entrance area is NOT for spectators but for the starters of the next class, judges and ring staff ONLY. The sale of dogs on the showground is forbidden Please bring your own attire like poop bags, trash bags, ash trays Bitches in heat: Are allowed to start, please inform the ring steward that your bitch is in heat; the judge might want to know. Cancellation during the show: If you have to cancel your start/s during the show weekend, please report to one of the ringsteward, it has to be recorded! See Refunds Conformation & Junior Showmanship as well. Catalogue: Free of charge for all exhibitors that pre-entered their dogs! All entries that are received until pre-entry closing date will be published in the show catalogue (class, startno, ASCA reg. name of dog, Sire, Dam, date of birth, color, Breeder, Owner) according to the information given on the ASCA registration certificate. If your dog has accomplished titles that are not on the registration certificate, please enclose a copy of the confirmation of these titles with your entry form. Only ASCA titles will be published. If there still enough catalogues in stock, exhibitors who enter their dogs at show date and everybody interested will get one for free. Catalogues will not be sent out via letter post/first mail before or after the show! Change of class Conformation: Have to be reported to the person receiving preentries (see cover page) in writing (letter or E-Mail) before pre-entry closing date! Change of class after pre-entry closing date is only possible if your dog qualified after pre-entry closing date at another ASCA sanctioned event (e. g. went Winners Dog and is eligible for Best of Breed but you entered him for Open) and this information has to be forwarded in writing too! Change of classes after pre-entry closing date are with the exception given before not possible! If your dog finishes her Championship during the show, please
report to the show secretary! Change of dog Conformation: After pre-entry closing date it is not possible to replace the dog you originally entered with another one, not either if the class would stay the same. Change of dog - Junior Showmanship: Any Junior may change dogs at a show provided the following criteria is met: A. The dog that they are changing to must meet the same eligibility requirements (owned by the junior or an immediate family member). B. The change must be made in writing before entries close or half an hour before judging for Junior Showmanship is to begin, whichever is later. C. The junior must report any change to the Show Secretary within the stated time limits or the change will not be allowed. Class order Conformation/Junior Showmanship: Included, class order is subject to change! Clipped Whiskers: Clipping whiskers is a violation against German law; dogs with clipped whiskers are not eligible to start. Clothing: Please make sure that while you are in the ring showing your dog, you are not wearing clothes/caps/belts that could identify you or your dog! E. g. shirts with your kennel name or your dogs name on it. Confirmation of entries: Please note it on an extra piece of paper. Thanks. Day of show entries: If the maximum number of entries per judge (= 175) is not reached by pre-entry closing date we will accept day of show entries on Friday from 7:30-8:30 am and on Saturday from 7:00-8:00 am. Please check out the Veranstaltungskalender on our Clubs homepage (www.ascdev.de) approximately 2 weeks after pre-entry closing date to see if day of show entries will be possible or not! Docked dogs: Dogs whose tails have been docked after June 1, 1998 are eligible to be entered in Junior Showmanship, they are NOT eligible to be entered for Conformation shows (this includes all non-regular classes and Altered and Intact Conformation) since May 1, 2002. It does NOT matter in which country the dog was living when it was docked. If the dog had to be docked because of an injury or such, the dog is eligible to be entered for Conformation but it is required that you send a written statement (in German or English!) from the vet who performed the surgery explaining what kind of accident/injury happened and when the surgery was done. Please make sure that the vet s address and phone number are readable. Dog bylaws: Dogs have to be on leash in public all the time. The dogs must go beyond closed rooms or enclosed to areas, from those they cannot escape, are provided with a
collar, belt or other dog dishes, on or in the name and address of the owner are given or in one revenue stamp is fastened! Entries: Please send your entries for Junior Showmanship/Conformation by letter post/first mail ONLY, do not send letters that require signatures and please note: YOU CANNOT ENTER VIA E-MAIL. It is not recommendable to send your entries on the last day possible or take care of the payment at short notice! Entries that arrive with postmark date later May the 28th, 2017 on will be sent back to you and if your entry fees are only one day too late in our account, your entries will be returned! Conformation Show Rules and Regulations, June 1, 2016: SECTION 7.6: A Conformation Judge shall not pass judgment on: A: Any dog who said judge or a member of his immediate family or household owns, co-owns, bred, co-bred, or has owned or co-owned in the past. B: Any dog who said judge or a member of his immediate family or household has bred to, held under lease, boarded, trained,or instructed in the preceding 12 months. Trained or instructed applies equally to exhibitors who train professionally or as amateurs. C: Any person who has handled for said judge in the conformation ring more than twice in the preceding 12 months. D: Any person or a member of his immediate family or household who, within the preceding 12 months, has co-owned, co-bred,or purchased a dog with said judge. E: Any person or a member of his immediate family or household who worked as an employee or independent contractor of said judge within the preceding 12 months. F: Any person or a member of the immediate family or household who said judge has regularly trained or instructed in thepreceding 12 months. Trained or instructed applies equally to judges who train professionally or as amateurs. SECTION 1.4 THE MEMBERS OF THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY ARE: Husband, Wife, Father, Mother, Son, Daughter, Brother, or Sister, Father in-law, Mother in-law, Son in-law, Daughter in-law, Brother in-law, or Sister inlaw. SECTION 1.5 Immediate household to mean those residing within the residence. At ASCA Conformation shows you will not receive a written critique! Usually the judges are willing to talk with you about your dog after the show, please do not try to discuss (non-) placements in the ring! Pre entry closing date: May, 24th 2017 (postmark date). Refunds Conformation & Junior Showmanship: You have to cancel starts in writing, no matter if you cancel before or after pre-entry closing date or during the show weekend! If you cancel your starts until pre-entry closing date, we will refund 100%. 100% are also refunded if you cancel because of a judge s change. We will refund 100% if you have to cancel your starts later because of the condition of handler and/or dog (illness, injury, death), please enclose a vet/doctor statement. See Cancellation during the show as well! Ringsteward/s: The ringsteward checks if all dogs entered for the class are present, brings them in catalogue order, might give some information about the judging routine and informs the judge that the class is ready. If necessary, he assists in the ring (e. g. translates for the judge). Please pay attention to the ringsteward/s.
Start numbers Conformation and Junior Showmanship: Can be picked up from 7.30-8.30 am on Friday and on Saturday at the start numbers booth. If you cannot make it within these time spans, please pick them up directly at the Conformation ring. Third party insurance: All dogs brought onto the show ground have to be included in third party insurance. Vaccinations: Please check if your dog s vaccinations are current BEFORE you leave for the shows. Double check if your vet has included the date on which the vaccinations have to be refreshed in the vaccination card/vaccination certificate, some vets tend to forget that they have to include the best before end date! We will check the vaccination card/certificates before we hand out the start numbers. Dogs without vaccination cards/certificates and/or insufficient vaccinations are not allowed on the showground, this includes visiting dogs! All dogs have to have sufficient vaccination against rabies, vaccination must be at least 21 days old, repetition vaccination as stated by the vaccine producer. Exception: For dogs younger than three months and therefore without rabies vaccination the following applies: Coming from EU-member-countries they can be shown if: they are accompanied by their mother who is current on vaccinations (noted in her vaccination card/certificate) If the mother is not with them, the puppy itself has to have a vaccination card/certificate that states that the puppy was only kept at home and had no contact to wildlife animals before being brought to the showground Vendor booths: Please contact Marc Ritter to inquire about reservations and costs.
