This female could be considered for a junior project for some enthusiast out there. Don t cut her short because of her age, she will continue to blossom with time.
As I m writing footnotes on these Feature Heifers and I pull up the pictures, I sometime wonder if I have changed the photo?? Either I need to take a break, or the heifers are very similar in their type! The latter is what I m going with, and what we are trying to achieve in our cow herd. HF Annie s maternal sib was also a feature in our 2016 Sale (sired by Rebel) and sold to Grand River Angus for $11,000.00, another maternal sib sold to LLB Angus for $9500.00. Annie is backed with a very solid pedigree with notables such as Swagger, Tiger, Kodiak and Miss Blackcap 27R and then the outcross Bullseye 3451. Bullseye progeny have proven themselves very well with our first daughters milking and meeting expectations in udder quality and maternal instincts! Breakout will add some punch on the performance side as you can see with this heifer. She is the youngest heifer in the offering, but certainly doesn t give way to her pen mates. She started with a 79 lb BW, but posts a Yearling Wt. ratio of 109. A Special Tribute Logan Thomas Chalack 1983-2016 In Logan Chalack s short life, he made every attempt to live a full life, and make everyone that ever met him, all the better for it. From a very young age, Logan was destined to be a farmer, and more so, an extraordinary cattleman. Whether it was Holsteins, Angus, or show steers, Logan had an eye for the good ones, and truly enjoyed working with many types of cattle. He was an integral part of the success of his family s business, Wendon Holsteins, and was very much looking forward to the future with his new wife Charity, and their daughter, Chloe. Logan s circle of friends was huge, and encompassed people from around the world. A true mark of a very memorable man. Logan will be greatly missed by all who knew him we shall never forget.
