Non Member Participation Fee $57.60 + HST A non member participation fee will be charged to a resident of Canada who is a non-member of the CKC. The non member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. In order for the title to be awarded, the non member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. All Premium Lists will carry a note stating the fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non-member residents of Canada and is not applicable to CKC members.
Obedience Classes: (Although adapted from the CKC Obedience Rules and Regulations, this list is a summary which is not meant to replace reading of the CKC Obedience Rules & Regulations) Regular & Transition Classes: Novice A only 1 dog per handler in this class, and handler must be owner, co-owner or immediate family. This class is not for handlers that have attained a CDX on any dog. Novice B for handlers or dogs who do meet requirements for Novice A, however dogs who have attained a CD must move to Novice C. Novice C - This class is for dogs that have attained the Companion Dog or ANY other obedience title. (not included in HIT) Novice Intermediate- for any dogs which have earned the title of Companion Dog, Companion Dog Excellent, Utility or any Obedience Trial Championship " (not eligible for HIT) Open A & B- please see NEW Rules and Regulations Utility A & B please see NEW Rules and Regulations Pre-Novice for dogs who have not earned a CD title in any county (not included in HIT). Moving Up in Obedience 6.8.2 When one or more trials are held on the same day in the same venue, the request for moving the dog up must be made a minimum of one hour prior to the scheduled start of the trial for which the dog is being moved up to, schedule permitting Rally Obedience Classes: (Although adapted from the CKC Rally Obedience Rules and Regulations, this list is a summary which is not meant to replace reading of the CKC Obedience Rules & Regulations) Novice A Dogs competing in this class may not have won a CKC Rally nor Obedience title. No handler who has exhibited a dog through its CKC CDX or instructed dog training classes is eligible for this class. The handler must own, co-own or be an immediate member of the dog owner s family. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Once official notice of achieving this title is received by the CKC, a dog MUST move to either Novice B or Advanced A. Novice B for handlers or dogs who do NOT meet requirements for Novice A. Dogs may compete in this class until they earn a Rally Advanced leg. Advanced A & Excellent A - Dogs/owners that were eligible to compete in Novice A continue in the A level classes until they achieve their Rally Excellent title. Advanced B & Excellent B - Dog/owners that competed in Novice B continue in B level classes. A dog may continue to compete in the Excellent B class indefinitely. The show precincts shall consist of the entire obedience/rally building and the parking lot. NO outdoor shoes are allowed in the building. Food and toys are not permitted in the rings and no one is permitted to bench or use whistles, clickers, flexis or other instruments or devices in the ring or within 10 feet of the rings. Bitches in Season are also NOT permitted in performance area. Dogs must be ON LEASH at all times except in the rings. PLEASE STOOP TO SCOOP! To be eligible to compete in the obedience or rally trials, a dog must be 6 months of age and registered or be eligible for registration with the CKC, have an ERN or CKC Miscellaneous Certificate or Performance Event Number (PEN) Spayed bitches, debarked dogs, and neutered males are eligible to participate. Bitches in season may not compete. When a bitch comes into season after the entry has closed a Veterinarian s certificate, certifying the bitch was in season within the 10-day period preceding the trial must reach the secretary on or before the start of the trial. A full refund of entry fees and listing fees will be given.
