Height Divisions Owners are responsible for entering their dogs in the proper height divisions. Height divisions are: Dogs Measuring Regular Agility Preferred Agility at the withers May enter in a higher jump MUST enter the AKC height than required but not mandated jump height in a lower jump height 11 and under 8 4 14 and under 12 8 18 and under 16 12 22 and under 20 16 over 22 24 20 at owner s discretion 26 ---- AKC Jump Height Cards - NOTE NEW RULES EFFECTIVE 1/1/10 All dogs competing in agility must possess an offi cial AKC Jump Height Card. An offi cial AKC Jump Height Card is defined as either a permanent jump height card, a valid temporary jump height form, copies of two different measuring forms (placing the dog in the same height class) dated on or after the dog s second birthday, or copies of three different measuring forms (two of which place the dog in the same height class) on or after the dog s second birthday. All dogs (except those jumping 24 or 26 ) without jump height cards/forms must be measured/wicketed by the Judge of Record PRIOR to running in their class; this measurement will be valid for the weekend of trials only. If a Volunteer Measuring Offi cial or an Agility Field Rep is present, all dogs without a valid jump height card/form must be measured at some time during the trial. If the dog cannot be measured by the VMO prior to running, it must be measured by the judge before its fi rst run. You are not required to show your height card or send a copy with your entry. You are required to mark on your entry form your dog s height card status. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to request measurement. If your dog does not have a valid height card for a trial and is not measured by a VMO, if present, any qualifying runs earned will be disallowed. If no VMO is present, your dog must be measured by the Judge of Record PRIOR to running. Move-ups For the Friday trial (or the first trial day entered): MOVE-UPS close at 6:00 pm CST, Monday, November 21. Move-ups may be sent by regular mail or email to the Trial Secretary. If an email address is provided with your entry, an email confirmation of the move-up will be sent. Electronic Timing Electronic timing will be used at these trials. Trial Information The building will be open at 5:30 pm on Thursday, November 24 for course building. Volunteers who assist in setting up the rings may set up their crates after course building is completed. Trial hours are 7:00 am to 1 hour after completion. Ring size: 100 x 100 each (2 rings). The building is climate-controlled. There is plenty of close parking and crate space. Please bring chairs, crates and water for your dogs, and clean up supplies. Concessions are available at the trial site. Notice to Exhibitors The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering these trials, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualifi ed, excused, or barred from competition by action of the Event Committee. Gateway Agility Club of Suburban St Louis may cancel this event in extreme weather conditions. Entry fees will not be refunded if the trials cannot be opened or completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, fi re, an act of God, public emergency, an act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Since bitches in season are not allowed to compete in AKC Agility Trials, the club will refund all but $5.00 of the entry fee per day for bitches unable to compete for that reason. The Trial Secretary must receive written notification of such a claim for refund by letter handdelivered, emailed, or postmarked before the trial commences. The club will refund all but $10.00 of the entry fee per day for injured dogs or handlers. Written request for a refund must be made to the Trial Secretary prior to the start of the fi rst trial day and a veterinarian s or doctor s letter must be provided within one week of the trial. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. All dogs must be on leash or crated at all times except when in the ring or when in the designated agility warm-up area. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. The judge need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Gateway Agility Club of Suburban St Louis has no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or steward for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought to the ring when required. Entries must be made on Offi cial AKC entry forms or copies and must include the signed Agreement and Rules. Junior Handlers must enter their JH# and complete back of form. Include only AKC titles on entries. All owners of mixed breed dogs must fi rst obtain an AKC Canine Partners listing number before they may enter an AKC Agility event. The dog s breed name should be entered as All American Dog. The dog s listing number must be entered on the entry form and AKC No. checked. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may have made such errors. No entry will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. Errors in entries made by the exhibitor cannot be corrected after the closing date. No refunds for duplicate entries. Dogs under 6 months of age are not permitted on the show grounds of AKC Agility Trials. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites and any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. Gateway Agility Club of Suburban St Louis does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Offi cial AKC entry form for this event. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. There is a $25 returned check fee. No refunds will be issued for overpayment of less than $8. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefi t of refund if the Event Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Vendors Vendors should contact Jane Rich, 314-961-6306 or janem507@aol.com. Vendor fee is $25 per day ($40 with electricity). All vendors must reserve space prior to the trial.

Live to Run Again Gateway Agility Club of Suburban St Louis supports the Live to Run Again program. This program is designed to use audio books to assist the driver to remain awake during travel to and from agility trials. The Live to Run Again Campaign was founded and launched by Tail Blazers Agility Club in memory of Jane Callaghy, one of its founding members. The Campaign is now a non-profi t organization in Pennsylvania dedicated to national public education about drowsy driving. On the afternoon of April 1, 2001, while returning from a competition, an admired agility competitor and dog enthusiast died in a tragic auto accident when the driver of her vehicle fell asleep at the wheel. Out of this terrible, and preventable, tragedy emerged the LRA Campaign, which is a volunteer-driven organization committed to raising awareness of the importance of driving alert and rested. Audio books will be available at this trial. To learn more about the program, visit Live to Run Again website www.livetorunagain.org All exhibitors must be responsible for cleaning up after their dogs on the motel, RV and trial grounds. Motels require that dogs be crated when unattended. Any damages to motels, RV sites or the trial site can result in disciplinary action by the Event Committee. It is expected that exhibitors will clean up immediately after their own dogs and strongly encourage others to do the same. All owners/exhibitors should be aware that the entire motel grounds and RV sites are considered within the trial grounds. You will be responsible for all damage to your room/site and may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the rules of the AKC. Any abuse of the grounds will be brought to the attention of the trial-giving club and its Event Committee. Any exhibitor s entries may be refused for previous misuse of the motel or RV facilities. This is an AKC supported measure.
