Entries not on an official AKC entry form are not acceptable and photocopies of the entry form must have the Agreement and instructions on the reverse side. Owners are responsible for errors on entry blanks, whoever may make such errors. Entry fees will not be refunded in event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date, or in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the Veterinarian or Judge, bitch in season, or barred from competition by the Show Committee. If, because of extreme weather, riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund or entry fee(s) will be made. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show, but whose championship is unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to Best of Breed competition, provided the transfer is made with the show secretary at least one - half hour prior to the start of any regular conformation judging at the show. A recording fee of $.50 per dog and an event service fee of $3.00 per entry (not per dog) will be required for each dog entered at any licensed or member club show, obedience trial or tracking test. These fees are to be collected by the show-giving club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the recording fees are collected for the first entry only. (Chapter 11, Section 2, Rules Applying to Dog Shows, published by the American Kennel Club.) Acknowledgment of entry will be made with an exhibitor s ticket and judging program. If not received within a reasonable time prior to the show, notify the show secretary at (970) 532-3124. Consult Judging Program for time of judging. Dogs need to be at the show only at scheduled time of judging and may leave immediately thereafter, unless required for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. The club and its show secretary will not be responsible and are not obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of breed or class judging. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring. No dogs will be allowed in the show area except those regularly entered in the show. Loss or Damage. The club will not be responsible for the loss to or damage to any dog exhibited, or for possessions of any exhibitor, whether the result of accident or any other cause. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or agent during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. The welfare of an exhibitors child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor, It is distinctly understood that exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children on the day of the show. Exhibitors and handlers will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their area. Open Class: This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present. No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the changes or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary Named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, provided the transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. Junior, Intermediate and Senior Classes: Each of the above regular classes are divided by age: Junior 9 years old and under 12 years on day of show Intermediate..12 years old and under 15 years on day of show Senior.15 years old and under 18 years on day of show Eligibility of Dog: Each dog handled in a regular Junior Showmanship Class must be entered in one of the Breed or Obedience Classes at the show, or must be entered for Junior Showmanship only. However, a dog may be substituted. Such substitutions must be accomplished by an official AKC entry form. All such substitutions must be made at least one half hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship Classes at the show. Each dog must be owned by the Junior Handler or by the Junior Handler s father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather, or grandmother, including the corresponding step and half relations, or by a member of the Junior Handler s household. Every dog entered for Junior Showmanship must be eligible to compete in Dog Show or Obedience Trials. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. At a Specialty Show, each dog must be of the breed or which the show is held. 11 A dog that has been excused or disqualified by a breed judge or by a Bench Show Committee may still be handled in Junior Showmanship if eligible to compete in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been rejected, dismissed, or excused under the Dog Show Rules for the protection of other dogs at the show or for the protection of the dog excused may not be handled in Junior Showmanship. Winning of First Place in the Open Junior Showmanship Class at this show may qualify or count toward qualification for entry in certain future limited Junior Showmanship Classes. The Rocky Mountain Vizsla Club, Inc. shall retain 25% of the total Sweepstakes and Veteran Sweepstakes entry fees. 75% of each class will be divided as follows: 40% for First Place 20% for Third Place 30% for Second Place 10% for Fourth Place 2. Cash prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog, who will be considered as the owner. Claims for the prize money must be made in the ring before the Sweepstakes and Veteran Sweepstakes judging is over. The show-giving club disclaims any liability for cash prizes after the judging is over. 3. All Sweepstakes (excluding Veterans) entrants must also be entered in a regular class at this show. Entrants must be 6 months and under 18 months of age. Entry for the Sweepstakes must be indicated on the regular entry form in the space provided for "Additional Class. Sweepstakes (excluding Veteran) will be divided into the following classes: Puppy Dogs, 6 mos. & under 9 mos. Puppy Dogs, 9 mos. & under 12 mos. Dogs, 12 mos. & under 18 mos. Field Trial Dog and Bitch Classes - Only open to dogs and bitches having placed in Gun Dog Stakes or won a Derby Stake in an AKC licensed or member field trial. Only winners of these classes are eligible to compete in Best of Breed. Hunting Dog and Bitch Classes - Only open to show champions who have obtained the AKC hunting title of Senior Hunter or Master Hunter. BEST OF BREED Best of Breed competition is for dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owners' records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner's records. If, at the end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by American Kennel Club, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. NON-REGULAR ES, INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES Stud Dog Class - For dogs and two of their get entered in this show. The awards will be based on the merits of the get. Only the get will be judged. The owner of the stud dog need not be the owner of the get. As the judge s decision in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. The Stud Dog must appear in the ring with his get and be entered in the Stud Dog Class. Brood Bitch Class - For bitches that have whelped two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of the produce, produce only to be judged. The owner of the brood bitch need not be the owner of the produce. As the judge s decision in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class.
