Chisago County 4-H Dog Program The Chisago County 4-H dog program participants had the opportunity to learn about resuscitating dogs at a recent training session. William Jennings, Cambridge deputy fire chief, and his dog Jet trained the members in basic animal rescue concepts. Thirty members of the Cambridge Fire Department participated in Basic Animal Rescue Training this past January. The funding for training the firefighters was provided by the Cambridge MN Kennel Club and the Isanti County Humane Society. The BART team is made up of volunteer veterinarians and their assistants to assist in small animal recovery. Thank you to Will for volunteering his time to the next generation and providing them with such valuable information. It is great to see the community working together with the cooperation of the Cambridge Fire Department and the Cambridge MN Kennel Club is arranging for this activity. Once again Karen Lawrence has outdone herself with the Education Committee activities. Thank you! Page 8

The Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Club provided the Isanti County 4-H dog program participants with microchips for their dogs. Microchips provide a safety net for lost dogs to be returned to their owner. All shelters and rescue organizations have wands to assist in identifying dogs. With the assistance of Cambridge Vet Care Animal Clinic employees, Amanda Benson and Roxanne Heaton, microchips were inserted. The Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Club continues to serve the community in a variety of ways. The funds raised at the annual all-breed dog show provides the club with the opportunity to assist the area with many positive programs. CMKC helping, mentoring, educating and working with the community! Page 10
