Every day, Maizy Miggins made a big loaf of The bread smell floated around her house. Then it squeezed under the door and floated down the street. Ohhh! Ahhh! everyone said. Maizy is making bread. 2

One day, Maizy heard a quack-quack-quacking outside her house. She opened her door, and there was a big fat duck. Booms-a-daisy, how crazy! There s a duck at my door! said Maizy. What do you want? she asked. The duck just quacked. I think you want my bread, said Maizy. a piece of her quack-quack-quacking. 5

The next day, Maizy heard more quack-quack-quacking at her door. That duck is here again, she said. But when she opened the door, there were two big fat ducks. Booms-a-daisy, how crazy! There are two ducks at my door! said Maizy. So Maizy gave them both a piece of her quack-quack-quacking! bread, 7
Every day, Maizy heard quack-quack-quacking. And every day, when she opened her door, there was one more duck. Three ducks came. Then four ducks. Then five ducks. Then six big fat ducks came to Maizy s door. of her, quack-quack-quacking. 8
