Well, it s been six months since our last newsletter. Time certainly does fly when you are in rescue. The last six months have been simply incredible. We are rescuing more and more Goldens who need our help. Most rescues are straightforward but some have been very challenging and upsetting but the one thing that remains the same is our dedication to re-addressing the balance. All our kids have been abandoned, chucked out to fend for themselves, or handed in to a pound. As Golden lovers you will know just how distressing this can be for them. If they are thrown out they tend to go to where people are and sit outside shops hoping a kind human will help them. If they are thrown in to public pounds they starve as they cannot fight for food. The cruelty we see on a daily basis is shocking but once we are alerted to their situation it all starts to change. All our dogs go straight into foster care and Registered Charity No. 1158323 MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER it s really then the journey begins for them to have a better life. This is all only possible due to the wonderful backing we receive on a daily basis from our amazing supporters. As a charity we are so grateful for every donation, every kind comment on facebook and all the gentle words of encouragement. This really does give us the strength to keep fighting for our kids future. Without the support we receive we could not achieve our many happy endings. When reflecting on our journey a question we are asked a lot is to sum up in a few words why Happy Paws is successful. Well we all would say love - love for the kids we rescue, respect for our partner charities but most of all friendship that we show one another. All these things keep us as a team strong and unwavering in our fight to keep our kids safe and give them the life they so deserve. So to the next six months - as a charity we never know what is around the corner but one thing we do know is that as long as you join us on our roller coaster of a ride we will never give up. So on behalf of the kids we have rescued, the kids we are rescuing and the kids we just haven t found yet but we will - thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We really could not do it without you. With love Lis Founder and Trustee

STORY OF HOPE Lilly was found starving, alone and desperate for someone to help her. I thank God everyday it was us. After many months in foster care, the very best food, excellent vet care and above all, wonderful support, look at our girl now. Lilly is very special to us as she is a beacon of hope - she is proof love can overcome and her future is very bright xx we love you Lilly xx STORY OF LOVE Jessie was found abandoned and alone - she was so frightened it was really the saddest sight. She was so confused to have been chucked out but lucky for her she became a Happy Paws girl. Just look at our girl now! Just loving her new life with her wonderful family who adore her. This is what our kids have to look forward to - a safe and caring environment where they are cherished. I d say we did her proud xx STORY OF SURVIVAL Maddie was found trying to give birth in an alleyway. She had been thrown out in this condition. We were heart broken but we had to get her the treatment she needed. We gave the go ahead to get her straight to a vet. She underwent life-saving surgery - unfortunately none of her pups were alive. Maddie recovered well and is now living the dream with an out standing family She is a wonderful girl and we know she now has the life she deserves. Maddie when she was first found At the vets She recovered well OUR KIDS ARE SURVIVORS A true story of survival Sashas story is incredible She was involved in a road accident and suffered a broken hip and dislocated knee. Thanks to a big fund raising effort we were able to pay for her much needed operation We then got her into a foster home where she was cared for until she could travel. We all followed her progress and over time she healed. I was very lucky to of fostered Sasha and what a super girl. I have to say we were all taken in by her charm, her warm personality and her amazing character. If a wonderful home had not been found I know she would never have left us. But I am so happy to say she is living the dream with a wonderful family who are devoted to her. With out such wonderful support Sasha would of died, she would not have had that chance at life. I will always be so grateful to each and everyone of our supporters for believing in the work we do. Sasha is living proof that pulling together saves lives xxxxx Sasha post op Chilling out With Lis in the garden Lis, Sasha, Molly and Maisie

Molly Florin Green Denton Woody Bella & her Sister Meet the Families Our families are simply the BEST Milly Pete Willow Stevie Nicky

It s very well documented that we feel our families are simply the very best. They go all out to make our kids feel secure and loved. There is nothing more we like at Happy Paws HQ than to hear how our precious kids are doing. Like Josie and Sheila - rescued from Turkey where they really had no future. No one cared for them and they both found themselves without a home. We had no hesitation in taking them on and to find them their forever family - and what a family they now have! They are living the dream - learning to swim is just one of the new and exciting experiences they are both having. But most of all they are now part of the Clay gang where they have been fully integrated into a very loving home. We could not be happier xx L I V I N G T H All the Clay gang in all their glory Sheila giving it her best Josie swimming for the first time Nice and warm after their first swimming experience

E D R E A M Larry was found wandering around alone, frightened and confused. A family chucked him out to fend for himself. Lucky for him he was found and we were asked to find him his perfect family. Well, again we did not disappoint. Larry now is the centre of his family s world. He is so loved, wanted and cared for. It has to be said his biggest fan is his mum who simply adores him and I can honestly say I can see why. Larry is such a lovely lad, so happy and loveable. He just needed to be part of a family so he could live his happy ever after. This rescue was perfect and we at Happy Paws HQ are simply thrilled. Larry the Happy Paws poster boy Larry Larry was waiting to travel The look of pure love Denny was found sitting by the road. Not knowing what to do or where to go. His owner had thrown him out to fend for himself. Again this young lad had an angel on his shoulder and we were alerted. At Happy Paws HQ we don t hang about and we managed to get him into foster care. He passed all his behaviour tests with flying colours and so we booked him on the happy bus. Denny When he arrived he was skinny but mum and dad are helping him to sort that out. They adore him and he is having the time of his life. Thanks to many generous donations we are able to help kids like Denny to have the life they so deserve. This little boy really did land on his paws and is now very happy xx On his way to his new home I think he enjoys all the cuddles And in the mud

Our dogs just can t stop smiling. x Everyone at Happy Paws HQ follow each of our dogs in their personal journey to a happy life and it is so very rewarding. What makes us so happy is when we see them smiling and enjoying life. We simply love them all to bits. xx Freddie Milo Amy Holly Bess Look who is arriving At Happy Paws HQ the excitement of new arrivals is tangible. This part of rescue brings to an end the months of hard work. All of these gorgeous souls will be starting their new lives with their wonderful families and we at HP could not be happier for all concerned. THE TURKISH INVASION AND IT BEGINS... We have been working in Turkey for a year now and boy what a year. Rescuing from Turkey has its own challenges but putting all that to one side the people who we have partnered with are outstanding. I am so proud that we can all work together in the name of animal welfare and save these precious souls. We are working harder than ever as they keep coming but we will be there up front and centre to readdress the balance and give our kids hope - hope of a happy future with a loving family That s the Happy Paws promise. xx Duman Charlie and Lucas Denton (now Fergus) The Golden Gang with our Happy Paws angel Jeannie Thirkill Pollyana Wesley with his brother Barney Marley

GOLDEN GET TOGETHER MIDLANDS Kathryn and Molly Kathryn Parr and her lovely girl Molly are a great support to our charity. Kathryn runs the Golden Get Together Midlands Goldie group and has raised a massive amount of money this year. We love to see Golden kids who are very lucky to have great family helping other Goldens on their way to a great life too. It s so special to be supported by a wonderful group of owners and dogs who really care. As you can see they all have a great time. Happy Paws appreciates all you do guys and we love to see you all having a super time. xxxxx Well, what happened here then? Getting ready And we are off... Taking a rest Time for a quick cuddle Then off for a swim This is great fun Where s my stick? Did you have a good time? You bet I did xx, I m coming again xx Time for a rest before going home

FUNDRAISING HOLLY & DAN Fundraising is such a big part of any charity - every penny counts. Miss Holly, who was rescued from Turkey, is giving some much needed advice on how to run a marathon to Dan. Dan kindly agreed to have a go and raised an impressive 500. I m sure Holly helped in her own special way xx Holly looks very impressed by Dan s efforts Holly thinks a tummy tickle will help Dan complete his run Holly is so proud Mollie and Maisie had lots of fuss when we visited the offices REID BRIGGS Reid Briggs are a local insurance firm in Eastbourne and they are such a great support to the charity. We now partner with them. Every policy sold, either pet, car or home insurance the charity receives a commission. The reason we have teamed up is they are all great animal lovers and really believe in what we are trying to achieve - so if you need any insurance at all please call Steph on 01323 438843 and she will personally deal with your enquiry. COUNTRY FAIR Michele and I had a stall at a country fair - it was such good fun. Michele and hubby Chris are such great supporters of the charity and they bought their gorgeous Happy Paws dog Ted - it was a great day full of fun and laughter - we proudly wore our Happy Paws t-shirts and Happy Paws hats. Altogether we raised 160. If you could help in this way do let us know. MOUNT SNOWDON Ali (our Happy Paws home check manager) and hubby Pete climbed Mount Snowdon for the charity in September. They raised 800 and we could not be prouder. We were most impressed that the Happy Paws hats came in very handy. xx Sarah Padget - aka Quita s mum, has written a wonderful book about Quitas rescue. This book is beautifully illustrated. If you would like a copy it s 10. All the proceeds go to Happy Paws. You can order a copy by contacting me at lisasmart213@aol.com FIVER Our supporter Sue came up with the brilliant idea of donating your first new five pound note. It s been a great success. If you would like to take part and kindly donate you can by visiting our website www. happypawspuppyrescue.co.uk and follow the donate page. There you can donate your 5.
