Two Listing Fees are necessary if the dog is entered in both Conformation and Obedience. MAKE ALL CHEQUES/MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO GRANDE PRAIRIE KENNEL CLUB In payment of entry fees, the tendering of NSF cheques shall be considered non-payment of entry fees and is punishable by disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. A collection fee of $25.00 will be added to the amount of any returned cheque. Fax entries and/or credit card payment will be accepted when accompanied by authorized VISA or MASTERCARD credit card number, expiry date and cardholder s name. 10% of total fee will be added for FAX/Credit Card/Interact on entries. Telephone entries are not accepted by the Show Secretary. Incomplete entries or entries received without fees, or entries received after the advertised closing date will not be accepted. There will be no refund on overpayments or duplicate entries. Please mail entries early to ensure that they are received before the closing date.. NOTICE TO OBEDIENCE EXHIBITORS: CHAPTER 1, SECTION 7, SUB SECTION 1, has been amended as follows. Only dogs eligible for, or already registered in the Stud Book of The Canadian Kennel Club, and those of a miscellaneous breed as recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club may be entered in and compete at Approved Obedience Trials held under these regulations. ENTRIES CLOSE: June 3, 2015 @ 8:00 p.m. or when limit is reached REGULAR CLASSES JUNIOR PUPPY - 6 months & under 9 months on the day of the show SENIOR PUPPY- 9 months & under 12 months on the day of the show 12-18 MONTH CLASS - for dogs 12 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show CANADIAN BRED - for dogs born in Canada, Champions in any country excluded. BRED BY EXHIBITOR - shall be for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder. OPEN CLASS - shall be for all Dogs. SPECIALS ONLY Dogs which have a recorded CKC registration, Event Registration Number (ERN) or Miscellaneous Certification Number (MCN) and have attained the required points for Championship status. All awards earned at the show will be cancelled if it is found that a dog is not registered or has not completed the requirements for a CKC Championship. Dogs entered in this class will compete for Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Puppy if eligible. NON-REGULAR CLASSES EXHIBITION ONLY - Dogs entered in this class may not compete in the regular breed classes. CLASSIFICATION OBEDIENCE NOVICE A - The Novice A Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has not earned the title of C.D. Only one dog per handler is allowed in this class, and that person must handle the dog in all exercises. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or a member of their immediate families, and must be eligible to handle under section No person who has trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a C.D.X. title shall be allowed to handle a dog in this class. When a dog is wrongfully entered in this class, any score awarded will be cancelled. NOVICE B - The Novice B Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has not earned the title of C.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 6 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such cases, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercises. No dog may be entered in both the Novice A and Novice B Class at any one trial. NOVICE C - The Novice C Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed that has earned the title C.D., C.D.X., U.D. or any Obedience Trial Championship Title prior to the losing date of the trial in which it is to be entered.

NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS - The Novice Intermediate Class is an elective class and earning the title is not a requirement to enter the Open Classes. Novice Intermediate Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of Companion Dog, Companion Dog Excellent, Utility Dog or any Obedience Trial Championship. Scores earned by dogs competing in this class are not eligible for High in Trial. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 6 exercises. PRE-NOVICE The Pre-Novice Class is an elective class and earning the title is not a requirement to enter Novice Classes. The Pre-Novice Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has not earned the title of P.C.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class OPEN A - The Open A Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D. but has not earned the title of C.D.X.. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner or a member of their immediate families. Only one dog per handler is allowed in this class, and that person must handle the dog in all exercises. Any person who has trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a U.D. title may not handle a dog in this class. A dog which has earned its C.D.X. title is not eligible for entry in this class but may be entered in the Open B Class. When a dog is wrongfully entered in this class, any score awarded will be cancelled. OPEN B - The Open B Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D. Dogs which have earned the title of C.D.X. or U.D. must enter in the Open B Class. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter or handle more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 7 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such case, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercises. No dog may be entered in both the Open A and Open B classes at any one trial. A dog eligible for entry in the Utility Class at any obedience trial held under these rules is also eligible for entry in the Open Class B at the same trial. Prior to the start of judging, the judge will decide the order of exercises to be performed. This order will not be disclosed to exhibitors until it is posted at ring side, approximately 30 minutes before the start of the class. In future assignments, judges are required to alternate the six orders of exercises so that each set will be used approximately the same number of times. UTILITY A - The Utility A Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D.X. but has not earned the title of U.D. Any person who has trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a M.O.T.Ch title may not handle dogs in this class. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner or a member of their immediate families. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. The same person must handle the dog in all exercises. When a dog is wrongfully entered in this class, any score awarded will be cancelled. UTILITY B - The Utility B Class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D.X. or U.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. The same person must handle the dog in all exercises. No dog may be entered in both the Utility A and Utility B classes at any one trial. Prior to the start of judging, the judge will decide the order of exercises to be performed. This order will not be disclosed to exhibitors until it is posted at the ring side, approximately 30 minutes before the start of the class. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or a member of their immediate families. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. A dog may continue to compete in this class after the owner has been notified by at least 2 different judges that the dog has won 3 qualifying scores in this class. However, a dog may not be entered or exhibited in this class in any rally trial after the owner has received official notification from the CKC that the Dog has won the title. No dog may be entered in both Rally Novice A and Rally Novice B at any one trial. RALLY NOVICE B.- Any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced Class is earned. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. RALLY INTERMEDIATE - This class shall be for dogs that have earned the R.N. title. A dog completing the R.I. or any other obedience or rally titles may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class RALLY ADVANCED A - This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (R. N.) title but have not won the Rally Advanced (R. A.) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. No handler who has exhibited a dog through its CKC CDX (Companion Dog Excellent) title or instructed dog training classes shall be eligible to enter this class. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or a member of their immediate families. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. A dog may continue to compete in this class after the owner has been notified by at least 2 different judges that the dog has won 3 qualifying scores in this class. E.) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. No handler who has exhibited a dog through its CKC CDX (Companion Dog Excellent) title or instructed dog training classes shall be eligible to enter this class. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or a member of their immediate families. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. A dog may continue to compete in this class after the owner has been notified by at least 2 different judges that the dog has won 3 qualifying scores in this class. However, a dog may not be entered or exhibited in this class in any rally trial after the owner has received official notification from the CKC that the dog has won the title. No dog may be entered in both Rally Excellent A and Rally Excellent B at any one trial. RALLY EXCELLENT B - This class will be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (R.A.) title. A dog completing the Rally Excellent (R.E.) title may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class.

There will be a $2.00 fee which will be collected at the show. Any dog entered in Junior Handling must be entered in one of the regular classes or for exhibition only in the show that day. JUDGE: TBA CLASSES Pee Wees From ages 4-6 some may be 7 during the competition year depending on when their birthday falls. Junior Novice From ages 7 until 10 years of age. Child must be 7 yrs old as of December 31, 2005 in order to start at Jr Novice. This is for children who have NOT won six firsts with competition. Junior Open From ages 7-10 with same age restrictions as above. This class is for children who HAVE won six firsts with competition. Intermediate Novice Class From ages 11 until 14 years of age who have NOT won six firsts with competition. Intermediate Open Class From ages 11-14 years who HAVE won six firsts in the same class with competition. Senior Novice Ages 15-18 years who have NOT won six first placements in the same class with competition. Senior Open Ages 15-18 years who HAVE won six first placements in the same class. This class is for handlers 15 yrs of age as of Dec 31 st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age. Junior Handling Obedience This competition will be held on Sunday during the lunch break. GENERAL RULES GOVERNING THESE SHOWS AND TRIALS 1. The Club reserves the right to remove any person from the show. The Show Superintendent shall have full control of the above shows and trials, which will be governed by CKC rules. 2. Any dog excused by the Show Superintendent or the Show Veterinarian for any reason shall not, after being excused, compete in any class for any award for the balance of the show. Any female excused because of being in season shall not be allowed to compete in any class for any award. 3. The show committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of accident, or other misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors or patrons. 4. A Judge or any person participating in any capacity at a Dog Show held under CKC Rules shall not be subjected to any indignity of any kind during the progress of the show and it shall be the duty and obligation of the Club holding the show to see that this rule is effectively carried out. The Show Superintendent shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of the rules, and the Discipline Committee shall have the power to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this rule has been violated. 5. Exhibitors are solely responsible for the conduct or actions of their animals while they are on the show grounds. 6. Dogs must be on the grounds one hour before the judging of the breeds, and may be removed when not required for further judging. 7. DOGS MUST BE READY FOR JUDGING. The Club will not be responsible for and is not obligated to provide any service for notifying owners or agents of breed or class judging. No ring shall be held up waiting for exhibitors or handlers. Exhibitors & Handlers with more than one dog shall have substitute handlers available so the judging will not be delayed. 8. The owner of a dog entered in these shows is entirely responsible for any error in entering his/her dog, regardless of how or by whom the entry was made. 9. A dog once disqualified for any reason at a championship show held under these rules cannot again be shown at a show held under these rules until the dog has been examined by an official committee appointed by the CKC and the committee finds the dog is free from the condition which prompted the disqualification. Application for reinstatement must be accompanied by a fee of $50.00 plus GST which shall be forfeited to the CKC if the examining committee is satisfied that the dog should remain disqualified. All awards earned at a dog show in violation of this rule shall be canceled by the CKC and the owner of the dog is subject to disciplinary action. 10. Exhibitors and handlers will be responsible for their dogs and for their equipment left at the Show Grounds. 11. No entry fee will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, and Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club. 12. For the benefit of the health of animals and the pleasure of the exhibitors and spectators we insist upon keeping our grounds and buildings as clean as possible. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Please exercise your dog BEFORE taking it to the Judging ring. Dogs are to be exercised in the designated areas only, not in the vicinity of the ring areas. 13. Entry fees not will be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

NEW: A dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall not be included in the calculation for championship points. The system provides for additional points if a dog awarded winners also places in the Group as listed hereunder.
