Judges Critique CRUFTS 06 Well it s all over, I ve waited 4 years for this appointment, knowing for the st eighteen months and having to keep it secret as expected by the KC, and it was a show worth waiting for, the best dogs from around the UK and the rest of the world. Firstly I must thank my two stewards Steff Kazana and Bill Ashcroft who worked tirelessly all day to keep me up to date and all the paperwork together that goes with this appointment. Well what to say, I would have liked to have seen more dogs shown on loses leads, and many needed a GPS to find their way back to me straight lines don t seem to exist for some. I had mins per dog to make an assessment many wasted this time and so had to sadly pay the price. Unfortunately bad coat conditions were a plenty and again these had to pay the price. I also noticed many short tails, not sure where this has come from but something we need to watch. But a lot to like on many, lots of good feet around, and temperament s on the whole were good. All my winners and subsequent placings met the standard and were very much fit for function, there were many I could have quite easily taken home with me, it had to be the full package with me, structure, movement, temperament, condition and showing their socks off, no half measures and again all my placing met my criteria. Sadly as always there are many that I liked had to go home card less, but none the less they won their place there and showed their socks off for me. Two mins isn't long to decide, so I want to thank everybody for taking my decisions in a sporting manner. Absolutely delighted that my BOB winner was shortlisted in a very prestigious Utility Group, also to then find out she was top winning bitch, at the world show, judged by the renowned UK judge Mr Andrew Brace. I think that says it all... Veteran Dog 0/abs. Hutlink & Hoie. ch/int/nl/bel/nord/ger. Ch. Solbo's Kayo. B/ spotted dog, super head, correct depth of brisket, so well-muscled up, powerful action just flew around the ring, hard to believe he s a veteran.. Goff-Leggett Ch Washakie Nutcracker Prince JW, Slightly lighter in frame than st, but has elegant head and expression, lovely ear carriage, nice top line, presented in excellent hard condition.. Hartley-Griffiths Ch. Creaganbrec the Favourite at Miragua. An old favourite of mine, dense black spotting, attractive head and expression, stands Full Square, moved with plenty of drive, again hard to believe he s a veteran. Minor Puppies no entries Puppy Dog 0/ abs. S.Baker - Buffrey Incognito by Dalleaf JW - A young b/s boy with a very bright future, expertly handled, very attractive head framed by lovely ears, nice reach of neck, correct top line, deep brisket, showed his socks off did not disappoint on the move. Pleased to award Best Puppy in Breed.. P.Baker - Lancelot DesLandes D'iroise (imp Fra). Another very attractive b/s dog, many of the same attributes as no, did not move as well with running handler, but once owner moved him I could clearly see a lovely striding out dog, has a lovely soft head and expression, correct ear carriage and topline.. Green & Sears - Boschendal Simply Red at Judally - a very attractive l/w, with nice head good broken up ears, correct amber eye, attractive spotting, just not quite the showman as and. Junior /5abs. Christie - Sophtspot Gold Dust. A lovely l/w, nice rich colour, doesn t put a foot wrong, handsome head, nice reach of neck, correct shoulder, in super hard condition, moved with drive. expertly handled.. IE Whiting - Gragville Chance On Me. A dog with dense black spotting, but sadly just would not settle today. Super head and ear carriage fantastic cat feet, a lot to like moved out well.. Quayle - Cubalibre On It. A slightly different shape on this dog chunkier than & a little too broad in head, but has attractive spotting nice dark eye, well-muscled up, moved out well. Yearling 0/5abs. Richardson - Mapplewell Dynamite. A lightly spotted l/w, excellent colour, correct amber eye. A very compact put together boy, correct shoulder, straight topline witch he carries through on the move, very attentive to hander.. N Forrest - Elabri Esprit Horizon at Spotswood. Another l/w slightly darker in colour, another dog again which would not settle to the job, attractive head, good topline, his movement was slightly erratic so another dog which sadly had to pay the price.. Miss Ward - Shulune Fantasy Red Dragon. Slightly longer in frame than &, attractive spotting, correct topline, moved out well. Postgrad 5. Stocks - Nospars Shaded Lanson JW. With 5 in the class you ve got to have something special, and this young boy didn t disappoint. Correct liver colour, evenly distributed spotting, a nice size not over done in any way, elegant head, a compact boy, moved out well and showed his socks off for his handler.. Cadden - Phadante Jambalana JW. A very attractive black spotted dog, really deep pigmentation, lovely head and expression, again a nice size, again felt to day he was giving his handler a hard time which was noticeable on the move and on standing, some work is clearly required on his concentration skills. but neither the less a very nice dog.. Barrett - Dalmanti Black Moon. A well put together b/s boy, nice dark eye, lovely broken up ears which frame nice head and soft expression. Correct topline and nice tail carriage. Moved with a nice long stride. Mid Limit. Cousins Kalorkaries Lord Ladies Man at Dallywest. This was my find of the day. Excellent shade of liver, lovely attractive head with nice soft expression, nice reach of neck, into correct topline and tail carriage, very well handled on a loose lead, didn t put a foot wrong. Pleased to award him the RCC. Clark - Klarkson One Vision. A b/s dog I really like shame he met no on top form today. Nice head and ear carriage Page 4/6
super dark eye, lovely tight feet, good shoulders and topline, very attentive to handler, moved out well.. Whiting- Cibrith Captain Kirk. Very compact b/w boy, very different to &, deepest of pigmentation, nice head and expression, shame he just carries his tail too high on the move. Expertly handled to get the best from him. Limit 6/4abs A difficult class as it was so full of quality. Wright - Milbelle Lithuim JW. A very handsome attractively black spotted dog. lovely size not over done in any way, nice head with soft expression correct dark eye, nice deep brisket, excellent tuck up, good topline carried through on the move, lovely to see shown and moved on a loose lead.. McCarthy - Domallino Jesuis Kilndandy. To me a very overlooked l/w boy, perfect in height and correct liver colouring. Nice head and ear carriage, good lay of shoulders, good topline, does sometimes carry his tail a little high on the move. Again shown and moved on a loose lead.. Paige - Winflash Hugo Boss. A lovely black spotted boy different in make and shape to & very compact. Lovely spotty face, with soft expression, correct in shoulder and topline. nice bend of stifle. Moved out smartly. Open 8 Now it s getting serious, what a class, I have never seen so much quality in one class before, it was an absolute privilege to go over all these dogs.. Dunnachie - Ch. Dvojica Vendetta. This dog truly deserves his crown and carries it well. Lovely dense b/s on pristine white coat, excellent handsome head with nice soft expression, good dark eye, nice length of neck into good shoulder placement, good bone with tight cat feet, generous tuck up, good turn of stifle, really well muscled up, a real stallion of a dog, moved out with purpose and drive. Pleased to award Dog CC. Frandsen - DK Ch Skvaa Luxury Item. A liver and white shown in pristine condition, loved his make and shape, lovely attractive head very soft in expression, nice shoulders, topline and tail carriage, just generally didn t put a foot wrong, moved and showed well put up a good fight for the top spot.. Whinncup - Ch. Tamilanda Panther Lilly. Another truly lovely b/s dog who was fighting hard in this class, nice head an expression, good attractive black spotting, again correct in shoulder and topline, nice tuck up good tight feet. Very little between these super dogs, and I thank you all for allowing me to go over them. Good citizen 4. Edens - Dalens Hot Gossip. A black spotted boy, who put in a good performance, nice dense black colouring, attractive head and ear carriage, quite a compact boy, good straight topline, moved and well and showed well.. Wallington - Rovinjadal Dare to Dream. A l/w lightly spotted boy, nice make a shape, handsome head correct amber eye. Nice level topline, good bend of stifle moved well on a loose lead.. De Rozario - Dalleaf D'accord avec Jemblewood. Slightly darker in liver, all male dog with handsome head, good neck and shoulders, put in a good performance, nice bone and good feet. Vetran Bitch 9/abs. Johansen - DK/N/S/D/VDH/PL/CZ/HU/INT CH Spotty Buddy Mon Cheri. A lovely well marked bitch that certainly did not look her 8 years young. Lovely feminine head, framed by attractive ears really alert and on the ball, nice reach of neck good top line and could take any youngster on when on the move.. Thorner Ch. Tolitum Drambuei ShCM. A very feminine b/s bitch who again did not look a veteran, lovely head with dark eye framed by attractive ear carriage, lovely dense clear spotting, moved again powerfully around.. Neal Time traveller to Tolkin. A lovely show girl of nearly years, really enjoying her day out. Pretty feminine head, framed by good ear carriage, nice elegant neck in to correct shoulders, really keeping her top line on the move. Minor Puppy What a joy to go over very feminine b/s girls. Page Winflash Prada Candy Kiss.. Page Vivienne Westwood by Winflash. I was totally unaware that these puppies were from the same kennel. Both beautifully marked bitches clear dense black spotting, just felt no had the upper hand on make and shape, and preferred her movement, both having very pretty heads with dark eyes, correct fronts and toplines on both bitches. I m sure they sure they will change places on many occasions, look forward to seeing them mature and develop. Puppy 7/abs. Cousins Kalokairies Attitude Aloud. As her name suggests plenty of attitude, which shouts look at me, but to go with that there is a very attractively spotted bitch, nice feminine head, framed by lovely ear carriage, still maturing, but has all the right attributes. Good shoulders and topline, moved nice and steady.. McManus Boschendal Ashes of Roses. A lovely feminine b/s, clearly enjoying her day, correct front, nice feet, lovely head and expression, moved around at one with her handler.. Wright Offordale Anastasia Avec Millbelle. An attractive b/s young lady, extremely feminine, very pretty head and expression, just drops her topline on occasions when relaxing,, good front excellent feet, moved nice and steady. Junior B / abs. Brennan Daymadals in the Mood. She was certainly in the right mood today, another beautifully b/s on purest of white coats, stand full square, nice head, good front, shoulders and topline excellent, really knows how to put herself across, and doesn t disappoint on the move, really strode out well.. Christie Sophtspot Glitterati, Another bitch that puts on a good performance but has all the right assets to go with it, attractive head, framed by nice ears good dark eye, pushed no hard. Handled expertly around the ring with a nice long stride.. Carroll Castletop Dixie Dew. A very feminine b/s spotted bitch, lovely attractive head with dark eye. Good front, nice feet, level topline. Moved positively around. Yearling B 5/5abs. Lindsey Sophtspot Golly Gosh at Appennine. An evenly l/s, nice colour, attractive head with rich amber eye. Nice reach of neck into correct shoulders, good tuck up, correct tail carriage which was carried through on the move.. Bardy Dalcross Caro Emerald. Another l/w lovely shade of liver, a bitch I feel that has been overlooked. She has everything in the right place, lovely head and expression framed by nice broken up ears, she doesn t scream look at me, Page 5/6
but just puts a nice steady overall performance, just does enough, moved nice and steady on a loose lead.. Mckenzie Mappelwell Waterfall. A very feminine b/s, very evenly marked, attractive head, nice dark eye, framed by well broken up ears,nice depth of brisket, good topline, correct bend of stifle, very attentive to handler moved with a lovely positive stride Post Grad B 4/5abs Again plenty of quality to go over so shortlisted, before deciding on my final 5.. Kroon Kykado Devina nld. A lovely liver bitch, with attractive head, framed by nice ears, good level topline, correct bend of stifle, put In a good performance to win this class moved with a long reachy stride.. Cousins Kalokairies Lady Godiva. Another l/s bitch, compact in make and shape, beautiful head with lovely amber eye, nice reach of neck, straight topline, put in a good performance very attentive to her handler moves out well.. Davis Dalens Spice Girl at Maddidalli. Yet another liver spot, very compact, really quite spotty compared to & but you cannot deny her, lovely spotty face, correct top line and turn of stifle, moves out nicely on a loose lead. Mid Limit B /abs. Gorremans Charmindals Mad About You.A very pretty black spotted, eyes the colour of coal, shown in pristine condition, so much to like about her, everything where it should be and to top it all, put in a good performance, shown and moved expertly.. Neath-Duggen Buffrey Hey Diddle Diddle Another super b/s bitch has much of the same qualities of no, nice a compact, level top line, just preferred head on no.. Suggett Dalesbred Geebee Gold for Kintegus. A liver bitch, nice feminine head correct amber eye, good neck shoulders and top line, nice tuck up. Moved and handled well. Limit /abs The st three bitches in this class, were off outstanding quality, really nothing to choose between them and I m sure they will be consistently fighting for top spot.. Fillingham Tamilanda Blue Water Lilly at Dotsadaisy. A truly feminine bitch, very pretty head and expression, lovely size, stands nice and true with nice front and deep brisket, topline level, good tuck up, put in a performance of her life to win this supper class of bitches. Moved out smartly.. Peterson Daedalus Cliff Angel JW. A bitch that has the deepest black spotting on pure white coat, good head nicely framed, very dark eye, good neck into correct shoulders, topline and tail carried correctly whilst on the move. Moved out nice and steady on a loose lead.. Finlay Dvojica Black Swan at Dalfin. Another super b/s, slightly taller than &, but still all in balance, attractive head nice long neck, good front and shoulder placement, lovely tuck up, again didn t put a foot wrong, showed and moved out well. Open 9/4abs I always knew this class was going to be difficult, with the amount of quality that we have in our bitches. It was an absolute pleasure to go over them all.. Chernova Rus ch Melissa IZ Terletskoy Dubravy WW-05. Where to start.. This bitch has everything, I really could not deny her top spot, very feminine head, framed by nicely broken up ears, long reachy neck, straight topline,lovely tuck, stood there screaming look at me. Lovely black spotting evenly distributed. I thought please move well as I really like you, and omg!!. everything I wanted, loose lead, long rhythmic stride. A very easy decision Bitch CC and BOB and also shortlisted in the Utility group.. Alexander Ch Offordale Larissa. So unfortunate to meet no today, As I really love this bitch and thank you for bringing her under me today, again has everything, lovely black spotting, correct dark eye, very feminine head framed by nice ear carriage, again correct in front, shoulder and topline, perfect tight feet. Moved out very true, but just preferred the easy going action of on a loose lead. RCC. Page Ch Winflash Born to be Wild. Again a bitch that I have admired from afar and doesn t disappoint, very similar in make and shape to &, very feminine in head, nice dark eye, good clear dense black spotting, expertly handled, moved out with a very true stride. Good Citizen B /ab. Morgan Winflash Olympic Star JW. A bitch of correct size, nice black spots, very feminine head, nice eye colour, has everything where it should be.
