Lean how to think like a detective while observing a crime scene and figuring out whodun-it. We ll also take a field trip to the local crime lab and talk with the experts. Map and analyze a mock crime scene while collecting and examining evidence including lifting and inspecting shoe, lip and fingerprints. Identify unknown chemicals to determine if a particular stain is animal or human blood. Conduct DNA testing, interview witnesses, and participate in a handwriting analysis and ink chromatography. At the end of the week, figure out who-dun-it and make sure that the results can stand up in court. Work with officers from the Salt Lake City Crime Lab and tour their facility.
